I want this so badly, right now. That, and the rest of the Journey To Star Wars: The Force Awakens post ROTJ stuff.

Same. It'll be just my luck that the thing will drop when I'm out of town or something I bet.

    It's somewhat boring though.

Oh? But it has nobles with fancy hats and you can play a diplomat. How could they manage to make that boring?

So far I've just seen repetitive pew pew missions where you don't even have to aim and "earn and upgrade" items. [face_sigh]

Oh. So it's like Star Wars Commander where you have little dudes who shoot things and you just watch? That's pointless.

Why do all the SW games suck? It's like the one major failing of the new Star Wars.

    There's a disconnect there with other reviews I've heard and the demos I've seen . . .

Well, not exactly. You do make the character walk (not jump), but when you see an enemy you just leave your finger in the action button and your guy keeps firing until the other dies, not much mobility. I guess it'd be more fun with melee weapons.

My main gripe is the mechanic of the game, it's similar to hack n slash mobile titles where the story is secondary to the repetitive missions and the goal is to upgrade your weapons and armor. The further you advance, you need better gear. The player's skill is irrelevant because mainly you need the currency to upgrade your character.

At least these days, they used to be good, but mobile games always suck.

I played the beta or whatever for about 3 days and loved it and haven't picked it up since. Lots of repetition and errs on the side of grindy.

It's a good distraction if you can't find anything else to do.

Does it at least let you play, or is it one of those "play for 5 minutes and then wait 12 hours before you can play again" games?

no you can definitely continue to play. Story missions are unlocked by reaching a certain level. The way it was working for me was I would do the latest story mission and then have to redo an old mission or side mission to get enough xp to level up and "unlock" the next story mission to progess.

This could have been just for the beta so people were not blazing through the content or it could be like that for the full release. The reason I stopped playing was, that while the story stuff was semi interesting having to constantly go back to a filler mission was not all that exciting. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed playing it but at this stage (beta or whatever they wanted to call it) it has run its course for me. I will pick it back up upon full release. There are some missions that you will need use certain currencies to unlock and from what I found there wasnt any real way to obtain these without paying $$, but again I am putting that down to limiting resources/currency found ingame for the beta and could very well be different upon the full release.

I'm in Portugal and managed to play it. It was only a question of finding the apk and obb files and install it manually (i confess that i don't know if that's fully legal, so mods you can censor this if you wish).

The game is pretty cool but, as someone said, it's kinda grindy. It feels like a diablo game, with three active powers and a passive one.

There's also small bits of new lore everywhere and that's cool!

It's mainly planet names and underworld organizations. There's also loads of weapon names and gear. Nothing major so far.

Here is some new content found on the beta.
    Planets:
(The underlined planets are the only currently unlocked planets)

Burnin Konn - Considered one of the four Mining Worlds of the Anoat sector, centuries-long mining operations on Burnin Konn to harvest chromium and dolovite destroyed the world's indigenous plant life and created a nearly uninhabitable wasteland. In the central company town of Arcis, the population survives by living within the crags below the world's surface.

Mataou - Once ruled by Hutts, the hot desert world of Mataou sits on the edge of the Ivax Nebula. The world now primarily serves as home to farmers of the deadly ro hypa, a venomous tentacle snake-like creature with medicinal value. Criminal groups who prefer both secrecy and luxury have rebuilt some of the former Hutt-ruled settlements in the classical architectural Hutt style.
Nar Hypa - A barren and desolate moon in orbit around Mataou, Nar Hypa once served as a Hutt-owned starport and trading hub. Now in possession of the Empire, the old Hutt facility has been repurposed to store cargo and goods confiscated from smugglers and outlaws.

Hoth - Though barely habitable, Hoth is a desolate world of extreme cold covered in ice and snow, making it inhospitable to most species. Until recently, it was the location of the Rebellion's Echo Base. The Empire forces led by Darth Vader completely destroyed the base during the Battle of Hoth, an engagement that resulted in heavy Rebel casualties. With the Battle of Hoth still fresh memory, scavengers scurry through the ruins of Echo Base and the surrounding frozen battlefield, which is littered with wreckage of AT-ATs, snow speeders, shuttles, and other craft, hoping to make a few credits from off-world recyclers and collectors.

    Anoat

    Bespin

Other planets of the Anoat sector have been mentioned but are not available for play:

    Gerrenthum
    Ison
    Mexeluine
    Kirtarkin
    Ione
    Allyuen
    Tokmia
    Ertegas
    Bavva
    Gentes
    Darlyn Boda

    Organizations:

Trade Spine League - Half-union, half privateer network, this group of smugglers and freelance mercenaries values personal freedom, independence and relaxed regulations above all else.

Ivax Syndicate - The secretive Ivax Syndicate takes its name from the Ivax Nebula in which it originated and is best known for its involvement in underground gambling, racing, and blood sports. Behind that simple veneer lies a vast and powerful criminal enterprise able to exert influence through the entire Anoat sector.

Zann Racketeer - Cut off from communications from the Consortium, Zann operatives continue with their racketeering, particularly against those who once did business with the Black Sun.

Anoat Privateer - Anoat Privateers work to harass and seize the shipping of those not allied with the uprising. With the blockade, they have become invaluable.

    _ _ _

Feel free to ask any questions and I'll do my best to answer them.

Didn't expect to see that organisation make it across from Legends...

Of all the things to bring back... *shudders* though I guess they can just cheaply reuse art assets.

Though certainly nice to hear the Privateering is alive and well in the GFFA.

Idk. I'm kind of mixed about that. They were over powered in legends and I didn't like how the affected gameplay, but they were kind of a cool organization. It could be cool to have them back and see how they are portrayed in the new canon.

The Zann racketeer only appears as a crew member that you can deploy on crew runs. The actual Consortium plays no part in the game. I hope that easies your worries.
