ST Let's talk about trailer #3...!

I see very few films in theater, though. That has nothing to do with my age. I have to be pretty much 100% sure I'll like the film before I'm willing to subject myself to the agony of the theater.

 

I know, my favorite thanksgiving are the ones in Burma or maybe the one in Ecuador, no wait, the ones in Ghana are fantastic. Although i have never been, i hear that the folks in Yemen really get into the Thanksgiving spirit.

 

Well when I chat with people on the Huffington post about politics they all call me a Communist or a Socialist I am actually a non party Affiliated Liberal
I know there are other countries and continents that dont celebrate Thanksgiving I brought up Europe because 1. Europe is so big and 2. there are a lot of Europeans on here from my experiences so I thought you guys could relate.

 

I am definitely in the minority and probably really, really wrong, but I still think it's going to be November. What might drop this week is another teaser. The way I see it everyone is going to be working like crazy at Lucasfilm as the film has to be done by Thanksgiving. You can't really expect people to head home for the holidays only to come back to do critical work in two weeks before the film drops. Not to mention you have to get the thing off to the MPAA for certification also. If I'm Kathleen Kennedy, I am working to get everything done in one fell swoop and kick this this pig into high gear on Thanksgiving.

Last year when the teaser dropped in Thanksgiving, its all everyone talked about around the table and honestly was tailored made for this family holiday. A holiday that gets a lot of people to the movies, which makes tying this theatrical trailer to a movie even more enticing knowing that it does raise movie sales. Moreover the trailer still hasn't been certified by the MPAA (that is still up in the air) or by that Alberta film site.

The only problem with my thinking is that ticket sales are going to start soon. With that, theaters need something to sell those tickets. A poster could help but you really do need a trailer or at least a teaser. My guess and I am probably BIG TIME wrong, is that what we see this week is a teaser. Another strike against my thinking is Thanksgiving is awfully close to the actual release date for the film. Sure it's a great way to run the hype of the trailer straight into opening weekend, but three weeks is still really close.

I am totally in the minority on this one and I have zero sources myself to go on, but I have this nagging feeling the theatrical trailer will hit in November during Thanksgiving. I'm sure I am dead wrong, but hey what the hell.

 

Nothing is well! Nothing will ever be well till we have a trailer!

 

He may just be making fun of the fact that people think he has any control over this, but Breznican's latest tweet implies heavily we won't see a trailer until next week at the earliest:

Maybe when the trailer arrives, the title of this thread could be changed to "Let's finally, actually, really talk about trailer #3".

 

Has anyone just tried calling their local theater, asking to speak with the manager, and then grilling him/her on what might be coming this weekend? Seems like an easy enough plan to me and if enough of us call and there IS something in the midst then surely one of us could get one of these guys to crack. Who's up for it?

One of the contributors to the Post went to check with the senior manager of a large movie theater yesterday for his big premiere event also said that they knew nothing about a trailer.

I am getting a little nervous, but maybe they don't want to overshadow the Rebels Season 2 premier with any news prior to that.

I really don't care if we get a trailer. We will, though, and it'll be cool to see it. But if we didn't it wouldn't be a big thing for me.
