Fantastic photo of Carrie. She's going to knock this one out of the park.

Fantastic interview with the women of Star Wars:

    http://www.latimes.com/entertainmen...ars-the-force-awakens-20151206-htmlstory.html

The new film reintroduces Leia 30 years after the war. She's no longer a princess but a general. And she's still very much in command — "still walking and talking," Fisher says. "She doesn't have any mortal wounds or disease." But, she warns, "things have happened that have been difficult."
Fisher was mum on the rest of her character's details but didn't mind sharing a moment of nostalgia she felt on the set of the new film:
"You're so self-conscious, you're exhausted before you get out of your trailer. I was in my trailer in the back and I heard Harrison. I recognized how his boots sound, and I heard him say, 'Is Carrie here?' That was funny. That was like we're back on 'Star Wars' campus."

Imagine if JJ Abrams pulled the ultimate Mystery Box and just as Rey enters the cave and everyone expects to see Luke we see Leia, Dark Lady of the Sith? [face_laugh]

Dude, I am so telling you...that's it! That's the major plot twist - as big as "I am your father".

and on a related note.... I think she look pretty danged sultry in this pic.

The video from GMA, and to a lesser extent The View, has gone viral. There are dozens of articles about how amazing and hilarious Carrie is. She's getting a lot of buzz about just how entertaining and flat out awesome she is during this press tour.

    Good for her.

Anyone who's listened to Carrie Fisher's commentary on ANH, TESB and ROTJ's DVD/Blu-Ray will confirm she really is a wonderful lady. She's fun, makes fun of herself and just seems very different to what you'd think was Hollywood royalty.

"Carrie sitting on the legs of Jabba The Hutt" is one of the most memorable scenes of Harrison Ford in #StarWars

Haha I'm a bit disappointed by what the rest of the blue dress looks like. It's a bit shapeless and plain. But I guess if it is for some kind ceremony at the end it'd need to be a pretty somber style considering the circumstances, so nothing too ostentatious.

Broken image for me. Where did you see this image of the dress? And is it blue or gold?

It really looks like a dress Leia would use in a funeral/memorial service. And now we know Leia is already wearing during the fond farewell scene.

Judging by their expressions, the fond farewell seems to be bittersweet. Mother and daughter are finally reunited, but Han is dead and Rey must go find Luke in order to train as a Jedi, because someone has to stop her brother Kylo. Everything is tied together.

Act 1 of the ST is finished. Rey was reunited with her family. Now it's time to move to Act 2, where she finds her uncle and master and starts her training to be a Jedi.

Thanks! And to me, that's a gorgeously cut dress. Seems perfect for a ceremonial funeral garment. Just what I would expect the leader of a Resistance movement to wear. Tasteful, but understated.

ETA: Pasting it here for easy reference:

I really like the collar. It has a pulp sci-fi look to it without being ridiculous.

They're both great costumes... I think that exhibit is in NYC, or is coming... I'll check it out. The Leia dress is beautifully constructed. And sadly, I'm also going to say it will be during a funereal send off for Han. The tears are coming.

It is in NYC now (Discovery's museum or whatever, around West 44th.) Finances and real life stuff willing, I'll get there before it's gone.

I like that costume and while I don't want to ponder what it may represent. It's got nice lines and does the job if it is indeed what you're both implying.

Actually, I think those are from the press junket that took place today and not the exhibit in NYC. At lot of folks who were there were posting them up on Twitter this afternoon.

With that said, I love the look of both costumes. I can definitely see Leia's being used for some kind of funeral or memorial service...as much as it pains me to say that. Seeing those two costumes together evokes bittersweet emotions knowing that Han's death will ultimately tear them apart. I hope it's not a complete downer and they are able to reconcile their differences before that happens, though.

I thought there wasn't a funeral for Han? Did we find out more info suggesting there is?

Well, if Han is (presumed) dead at the end of the film, even if there is not an official ceremony, cinematically Leia would be costumed in something to represent the loss. I mean, there's Heburn and Tracey, Bogart and Bacall, and Han and Leia. They're movie royalty.

But maybe Han is there and just out if the shot, and when Leia is done waving to Rey, she turns to Han... "Okay, you have to finish cleaning those gutters, and don't forget we're having dinner with Mon Matha, and before that..." "Yes, dear."
