ST The Romantic Future of Kylo Ren and Rey

Ooh...I haven't heard a Revan theory yet, so that's something unique you've brought to the table. And if she is a descendant, that would be pretty damn interesting, to say the very least. I'd actually much rather have her be a Rey Revan than Rey Skywalker.

 

He better be Thrawn, damnit. And I hope he won't be a 1 movie villain like our lightsaber wielding, four-armed friend General Grievous.

Since Rey has been so isolated and lonely for so long, attaching quickly to others makes sense- we see this with BB-8, Finn, Han and Chewie. Leia at the end of the movie too and Luke probably. Would that wanting to belong/searching for her found family affect her opinion of Kylo/Ben? Especially Leia and Luke's opinion, since I can't see Leia wanting her son dead.

Oh wow there is so much going on in this thread that I don't even know where to start! It's a good problem to have, lol.

I agree, if Kylo's lightsaber is symbolic of his character, then it should change as his character does. Adam Driver said in an interview that the lightsaber is unpolished like Ren himself is. I think we can expect to see evolution in both Kylo and his saber in future episodes. Also KA-CHING as far as Disney is concerned.

It's funny you should mention that because the first time I saw TFA my reaction during the interrogation was not so much "Yay!" as "Uhh what??" Because I went in thinking that for sure they were related, and to see the sexual energy there confused and disturbed me. I kept thinking "There is no way they can be siblings!" as I left the theater.

Now I think that they can still make Kylo and Rey cousins and just pretend that the interrogation scene wasn't full of sexual undertones. However, I think the most likely outcome is that they're not related. but there still won't be any Kylo/Rey overtly. They might keep the tension and sexual hints still underlying in order to keep things interesting until the end. It's the safest option for them. Just my guess.

 

Eh...I really don't think that Kylo Ren and Rey have a romantic connection at all. And honestly, I hope they never do: I've gotten through the dreadfulness of Anakin and Padme, I DO NOT need to go through that again.

 

Only thing we need to have now is for Rey to die her hair red and we're set.

 

Hey Ewan McGreggor was the swoony guy back then, and even now. XD Well you have a place to talk all you want about it. I wouldn't be surprised if Finn, Poe, or Ben fill that role for another young person too while they watch the movies now. Han Solo and Luke Skywalker did it for a lot of people, as did Princess Leia, and oddly Tarkin for some weird reason, but that's beside the point. And Anakin did it for other girls and guys as well, along with Padame. It's a win/win in that sense, that there's enough of a diverse cast to make people get excited one way or another.

 

I don't think I said they have a romantic connection right now. Were you replying to my post or someone else's?
That said, I would love an epic love story between Kylo and Rey in future episodes, but I don't think that's going to happen. The easier thing for them to do is no romance, or Rey/Finn.

This. In Rey's forceback you can see her lying on the ground, and someone is approaching her with their weapon raised. You see Kylo Ren's lightsaber cut through that person who was about to kill Rey, then we see Kylo reaching out to her, and then that scene of her in the desert. It pretty much looks like he saved her back then by killing one of his own.

As for lineage I feel I can rule out siblings for reasons I've discussed before, but cousins is still a (very lame) possibility.

 

They'll probably go for that, it's the most obvious. We are just here waisting time and 100 pages of forum to discuss an alternative/more interesting thing that the obvious.

 

Guys, a Rey Kenobi thread opened up the other day! This may not be news to some of you, but I thought I'd share just in case people haven't seen it yet!

Oh I understand. I definitely do support this threat, because I'm pretty sure I can get a interesting read from fan fiction that will come from this. ^-^

 

It would be really different and weird in the sense that it's uniting two of the most notable and the only two known redeemed sith lords, Revan and Vader. Certainly would explain why Snoke might want rey too as, if she is Revan's blood line, then she would probably be the only one to open up some stuff left on Malachor that his Sith Empire left behind. On top of all this, with the talk of Rey falling to the darkside (I don't think she will but) an entire section of the game covers the fact that Bastila is taken by Malak, Revan's former partner in crime, and converted to a darksider through pretty much torture. Revan's love for her is what brought her back over to the light and the two beat Malak in a tag team.

EDIT: Almost forgot something important. When Bastila and Revan fought he nearly killed her however this happens not too long after she beats him.

We have at least one semi in cannon instance of a bond being created between two opposing forces. Bastila who is a Jedi and Revan who, at this point, was a Sith. The action actually made it so that he could see what was going on and see vision of her future encounter with Malak which turned her for a while. Not to mention, if we never find out who Rey's dad is, but we do get an idea of her mom, then she could be like Bastila in that sense, as Bastila's mom left her with the Jedis because she was a treasure hunter and wanted her daughter to remain safe.

 

As for me, the force visions don't have necesarily to do with Rey, in the meaning that she didn't HAVE to be present. I mean, it's impossible for her to have been on Bespin. Maybe she wasn't in the Jedi academy, and on top of it pablo hidaglo said that the KOR vision was not the Jedi massacre, and her being left in Jakku didn't have anything to do and that in that vision Kylo a "clan leader", and i read somewhere that the guy Kylo kills in a KOR, so I think that was when he took upon the KORs, and apparently they seem to gather next to him after that also...so...I think it's more something about her being the heir of the force...showing her the past, present and future...the interesting part is that she sees Kylo Ren 2 times...So I think they have a strong connection of some sort. Not obviously romantic, but connection there is, i could put my hand in the fire for that one!

 

To young to be the mom of Rey, unless she had her at a really young age and was a teen mom situation.
So either someone that would be involved with missions and such with Finn and Poe, or the Sith that could be training Ben, and closer to his age.

 

Well as for me, I reallllly hope they don't go for the obvious...but man, it's Disney so my hope aren't really high!!
