Who is the best pilot in the Star Wars universe throughout the movies? Qualifications: Anakin/Vader - One of the only humans to ever race pods. Was a man among boys piloting in the Battle over Coruscant and the Battle of Yavin. Obi-Wan said he was "the best star pilot in the galaxy" Han Solo - The possibility of successfully navigating an asteroid field is approximately 3,720 to 1 and this guy did it. Also made the kessel run in 12 parsecs. Lando Calrissian - Navigated a larger ship (the Falcon) through Death Star 2 to help in its destruction. Luke Skywalker - Out lasted most other rebel pilots to make a shot that other pilots called "impossible, even for a computer" to take out Death Star 1. According to Biggs Luke is the "best bush pilot in the Outer Rim Territories". Obi-Wan Kenobi - Successfuly evaded Jango Fett over Kamino and successful in the Battle over Coruscant Poe Dameron - Annihilated multiple tie fighters in a short sequence over Maz's place. Took out the Death Star 3.0 err I mean Starkiller Base. Rey - Her navigating through the wreckage of a Star Destroyer was possibly even more impressive than Lando navigating through Death Star 2.0. Sebulba - Reading between the lines, he seems to have won more pod races than Anakin...albeit with some less than wholesome tactics. Wedge Antilles - The only pilot to have a major hand in taking out 2 death stars. Other - Am I missing anyone?
anakin. we also saw vader in "rebels" trouncing everybody. in the "lords of the sith" book he crashed his ship into the hole he had blasted on a larger ship and entered the ship that way.
I agree that Anakin/Vader is the clear #1. I don't think Obi-Wan was lying when he said that Anakin was the "best star pilot in the galaxy". Picking the second best is tough though. For me it's between Luke, Han, Poe, and surprisingly Sebulba. Does Luke get the edge because of his force ability? Does Han get the edge for navigating an asteroid field and doing the kessel run in 12 parsecs? Does Poe get the edge for being the best pilot in the resistance and being able to take out like 10 tie fighters in 30 seconds? Or Sebulba who seems to be the only pilot to ever best Anakin 1 on 1.
Anakin/Vader is the top spot. I think Han would be # 2. I just wish there was at least one instance to see him do his thing in a starfighter.
Oh really, I never noticed . I would still imagine if he could fly a freighter like that, he could fly circles around most fighter jocks if he flew a fighter.
Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader - simply because no one ever said otherwise, and you couldn't believe anything Han or Lando might have said, anyway. None of the others demonstrate particularly exceptional skills repeatedly.
Vader has the top spot I think, the fact he actually managed to get away from Vader at all (with assistance no less) was meant to show how good Luke actually was. Han never struck me as a particularly great pilot, his skills are not his strength it's his ingenuity and daring. In Legends continuity it would be Wedge, a Jedi-level pilot without even the hint of Force ability. For that reason I would probably say Poe's in second place because his flying is pretty much as good as anything we've seen Vader pull off on-screen but again, Force-free.
