    They must know there are many many Reylo shippers....they just need to check tumblr and pinterest so see the number of fan art and fan fic..... I'm sure its no accident these songs have been put on the playlists...it could be a little of both, teasing and plot direction.... now I am sure all those subtle clues in the movie were intentional...

    Frankly, given how quickly she developed in TFA, it would almost be expected. I'm wondering if she'll start to fly or become pure light.

    Now, there's another theory: perhaps all the force skills she has she picked up from Kylo. In that case, we could see her stopping laser bolts mid air, but not shooting lighting.

    I look at Han's death like his last attempt to retrieve his son, despite Han knew he would probably die and yet, he caressed KR's face as a way to tell he still loved him. This should haunt KR for the rest of his life... By the way, did anyone notice how the lighting changed in that scene? When KR and Han were holding the lightsaber lights went darker, it was as if darkness seized Kylo and he found the strength to do what he was expected to do.

    True. That was a chance KR refused. Has he already gone completely dark? I don't think so either. He could have killed Rey when they were at the edge of the cliff, yet he gave her time. For some reason, her Force, whatever, he's interested in her and that's a trump card for Rey. I don't know whether the events we saw at the end of TFA will make him darker or more unbalanced in regards of the light and the dark sides. I guess Rey & KR interaction will be one of the biggest assets of Ep. VIII as their fight at the end of TFA was left unfinished, so it remains to be seen where all those events will lead them to. Most predictable plot? He going darker than black and she becoming a Jedi of the Light, as you like, but again, where is the thrill, the substance in that? Seeing KR killing Leia, Luke and even Chewbacca? That's a bit too much for SW fans...

    Well, I think that my comparison between Howl with Kylo does have a lot of things to be made...Howl - a wizard that people are talking horrible things about (which turn out to not be entirely true); narcissistic, hugely upset when things don't go his way (though Howl's upset is a bit stupid...while I really like Kylo's rage outbursts), but more importantly he is a wizard who has a dark side to him and who we find out has gained his powers by sacrificing the most precious thing he has - his heart...He also has moments where he literally turns into a monster...Of course this while dark is a bit of a love story told for children, but I really love it...

    And to continue talking about parallels with Ghibli films... I think we can find very interesting parallels in another Ghibli made film by Miyazaki's son based on (rather loosely) on the wonderful Ursula le Guin's Earthsea books - "Tales From Earthsea" which I also rather love and I think on some levels there is a similar light and dark theme going on...and most importantly the character of Prince Arren who kills his father by stabbing him at the beginning of the story, steals the sword that is his heritage, runs away, is possessed by an evil wizard and there is this good wizard too (Ged) and there is fighting between light and dark...

    (The review is not good, but it tells the story more or less so I'm putting it here just for those who haven't seen the movie...)

    So just putting this as well as a food for thought...

    Hell no, he's not decent. He watches her sleep. That's creepy. He also tells her who she is and is not allowed to hang out with, refuses to allow her to see her best friend, even removes a part from her car to keep her from driving to her best friend's house.

    Granted he did not murder his own father. And he never straps Bella to a chair. So Kylo is arguably worse. But you know, the whole "mysterious dark brooding character" thing.

    Bella is actually a good student, self-sufficient, and living with her father in Washington by her own choice, to get away from her airhead man-chasing mother. She avoids Edward at first, but he sells her on himself, then leaves "for her protection" or some such. And Bella spends months brooding and then recklessly races motorcycles because she can hear his voice when she does something dangerous.

    You know guys, Kylo picking up and carrying Rey like that is a big sign! He's a spoiled brat and here he's not afraid to overstrain his back carrying a girl. If he didn't have any, at least a very small, romantic interest in her, he would have ordered the stormtroopers to carry her or would have used a pushcart or something, or would have just dragged her by her hair. I'd thought of a time travel plot earlier, like Kylo going back in time and again standing on the bridge with Han, but this time choosing the Light and not killing his dad, and going back home to mom.

    I don't think they made him so attractive to throw all this away by making him baddily bad, besides there will be no character arc that way.

    I don't think its out of the question, at this point anything is possible. My point is how they sell Kylo as redeemable in a way that makes sense given what he's done already. Also at this point Snoke is gonna have his fingers deep into him, considering he will be training him personally. So there's a good chance Kylo when we are introduced to him will be more commited to the dark side than he's ever been.

    So, to the average moviegoer Kylo is a deeply evil character. Remember that Vader only became redeemable at the absolute end of the OT, and that didn't involve a romance. To turn someone who's commited horrible acts onscreen into a one not only capable of romance, but also one that the AVERAGE fan, who has no investment in Kylo as a sympathetic character, WANTS to see as a romantic interest of the main protagonist.. that will take a heck of a storytelling effort and would push many other subplots and characters off to the periphery, which is something I would not want to see. And as I stated before, you can't just dismiss Finn's role in things, that was a major part of TFA and you would NEED to resolve his and Rey's situation before moving forward with Kylo. I respect that y'all are committed to your ship, but structurally it has to mesh with what's already taken place, and the other story elements that we want to see fleshed out.

    ???

    Actually those are great selling points. I am unsure as to how any of those wouldn't be good or enjoyable... There are plenty of characters who fit into those points that are generally loved by the audience(Loki comes immediately to mind)

    hmm... I actually read something a long time ago where George Lucas said that Palpatine kept a lot of mistresses and he could actually sense if they were pregnant...and if they were he made sure the mistresses got rid of the babies before they were born, maybe he missed one?...again I have no idea if this is true though..

    I'm not a fan of dark brooders who are not at least willing to try not to be dark and brooding all the time. I'm also not a fan of "mysteriousness"--if someone has given the obvious indication that he/she has no interest in getting close to anyone, it's time for the other person to take the hint and walk away, instead of spending a large amount of time contemplating or anguishing over the mysteriousness.

    As far as "conflicted," my reaction is an impatient "make up your damn mind."

    Yeah, but those are all your personal opinions and feelings. I doubt your singular thoughts are what the directors and writers are thinking about.

    We're also talking about our opinions here, but we don't necessarily use that as our basis for an argument.

    Please no Please No, Please for the love of all that is the force no!

    In regard to a HP style situation I would say more:

    Rey =Harry
    Finn =Ron
    Poe =Hermione (He knows both about the Force and the Republic and the FO, so info dumper man)
    Ben=Draco
    Vader =Snape (only in spirit form)

    Not a chance. They despise one another. Rey and Finn will become romantically involved. This is evident with the chemistry between Ridley and Boyega onscreen.

    Nobody is arguing anything objective here, we are all arguing opinions and discussing what we would like to see in the next couple of films.

    There is no reason to assume that the writers are thinking about the thoughts and feelings of those who support a Kylo/Rey romance any more than they are thinking about those who are against it, no matter what people decide to read into what happened in TFA.

    ...actually if the writers are thinking about any of us, it's probably along the lines of "LOL look at this message board."

    That's very true, but I still mostly see you making your arguments just by saying that you don't like that kind of relationship.

    And yeah tbh. If they see any of these message boards, they're probably laughing their asses off or going "shoot, how did they know??"
