ST The Romantic Future of Kylo Ren and Rey

I agree with the filmakers that it was GREAT to take it off for Rey....!! What a scene, it's faremost my favorite one! Especially Rey's stunned face (OMG he's hot!!!) And then....the fact that it had to be taken off earlier is REALLY interesting. It reveals that it was important that he did it in front of HER, and it's really revealing that he does it because he calls him "creature".
I would absolutely put my hand in the fire that Kylo is very very keen on his looks. (And damn, that HAIR.....so awsome).

And according to the Finnrey thread, last night was very "fanfic-y."

I still can't believe that not a single piece of support was given tho when they tried to make their arguments :/ we could have had a proper discussion that way...but instead naw. They just kept denying everything and throwing around words they didn't understand.

Ironically the artist seems to have posted this a a bit of anti-reylo lashing out, but I think this is what a lot of us "shippers" are expecting will happen in the trilogy: Kylo's one-sided obsession with Rey, a Kylo Ren that - if not redeemed - will probably be executed by Rey, thus ending his conflict and by extension the pain he speaks of to Han Solo on the bridge scene.​

I think it's beautiful, and I'd be totally ok with this. Of course one can only hope for a reciprocated romance. n_n​

 

It's gone I clicked on the link she posted and it says "Sorry, this video doesn't exist". I guess it must be stuff from behind the scenes that they will probably add to the official video of the movie when it comes out. Where are from?

 

Thank you for posting this, I couldn't find it and I considered posting this here to give the anti Reylos an idea of what people are expecting or going for. I'd be okay with something like that as well, it would be tragic and haunting.

 

Wow, you're going to other threads looking for ammo on me?? Okay. Yeah I think Reylo in the traditional "big kiss at the end, walking down the aisle" sense is unreasonable. I have never hidden my position on that. The person I was talking with on THIS thread agreed with me. I DID however say there was a means of Rey caring for him and possiby helping his redemption, if that were to happen.

I always make it clear in here that I'm for Finnrey, but I'd like to think that I give a fair shake to everyone's POV on this thread. Maybe I could have used different language there, so sorry for that, but I also wasn't expecting my every word to be monitored on every thread I go to.

ReyKenobi, if we were all hanging out physically somewhere, I would have started a slow clap when you walked into the room just now, lol. You guys did such a great job last night. I commend you for your patience and for keeping it civil.

I would not have had the energy to deal with all of that. It's so clear that those people are not interested in exchanging information and actually debating. It seems their main goal is to beat us over the head with misrepresented "facts" and a lot of bizarrely idiosyncratic definitions of words/clinical terms/morality. It boggles the mind. But anyway, great job!

 

It's indeed beautiful but so sad... For a change I would like to see the redemption of a villain who didn't have to die at the end of the movie, he is young and not a creepy freak like Vader.

 

Yeah, I think that the anti-reylos have this warped idea of what it is that we expect to see. As far as a Kylo/Rey romance this is the most realistic outcome to me. In this image for example, to me his hand cradling the back of her head says so, so much about Kylo's feelings towards her without going there explicitly - and that is just fine.

At the end of the day, would I prefer to see him decide to change, and to see her accept him as a redeemed character and perhaps even return his feelings? Of course. I'd even love to see some smooching. Is that the only way that this trilogy can satisfy my shipping of Kylo/Rey? No.

I agree, this scenario seems like one of the more probable endings in a Rey x Kylo storyline, but If it ends like that, I don't know if I could watch it more than once. If it happens like that, I see myself being very sad in 2019 (or whenever it is episode IX comes out). However, if it's the most compelling way to tell their story, so be it...

I still hope they decide to take Kylo's redemption in another direction though.

I genuinely enjoy the discussion (well not about the psychopath stuff, I'd rather agree to disagree about that). If y'all don't want to engage, don't. I never shoved anything down anyone's throat. This a public thread open for any discussion. There's no rule that only one viewpoint is allowed in here. The easiest way to not have me misrepresent all over your thread is to ignore me. Then I'd have nothing to respond to

 

See this is one of the most reasonable pictures and responses I've seen in awhile. Thought everything about their relationship is contingent on Kylo Ren not doing anymore awful things to her or to the people she cares about in the next movie. If Luke/Leia/Finn are hurt or killed by Kylo Ren or his actions I don't see anyway for him to ever be seen favorably in her eyes or the eyes of the viewing public. He would Die and become a Tragic character the same as Vader, nonredeemable in his actions but understandable motivations.

Also It depends on what his Sith training is that we see. I'm not sure I can see him cutting through innocents again and in good faith have any pity left for him.

If you think that Reylo can work as a more traditional thing, that's fine, but no one has explained that outcome in a way that seems justifiable to me.

I am only speaking for myself, but I think the difference between people who like the connection between Rey and Kylo (and hope there's something romantic) and the people who do not like that connection is that we (who are attracted to their potential) want to see the development of something more profound between them, beyond being mere adversaries. I know Rey currently has no reason to care for Kylo or like him, but the potential for some 'thing' is there.

I really hope If she has to take him out in the end, it's not just some mercy killing from his sister or cousin, hasn't the EU already done that with Jacen and Jaina Solo?
