Hidalgo can clarify already-decided canon to the fans but can't create canon just by tweeting something.
How do we know the difference? One example is Carrie Fisher's daughter character. Appears in the film, and Visual Dictionary as Kaydel Ko (maybe mis remembering that) but some sources list her as Connix. Pablo says it will likely be Kaydel Ko Connix. But there is no source for that yet. *I know you asked about the Revan tweet and I tried to find it but going through the history on twitter is a mess so no luck I'm afraid.
From what I've read on Twitter he basically just doesn't want joke tweets mistaken as canon. To use a TFA example... Spoiler: TFA spoiler example He jokingly said that the reason people could see the destruction of the Hosnian system from Takodana was, and I'm lightly paraphrasing here since I don't remember the exact words, was because of "Some sort of hyperspace wormhole type of ****." He doesn't want to wake up the next morning and find http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Some_sort_of_hyperspace_wormhole_type_of_**** I do sometimes cite him on Wookieepedia. It's all about using your best judgment, IMO.
Connix comes from the actual credits for the film. Clearly there was some miscommunication between the writing of the VD and the names for the credits. It happens.
The original backstory was that Pablo's tweets were raised by a criminal named Garris Shryke, and by a Wookiee named Dewlanna. They also had a half‐Nagai friend named Bey and a cousin named Thrackan Sal‐Pablo's tweets. After joining the Imperial Academy, Pablo's tweets saved Chewbacca's life and went on the run from the Empire, becoming a smuggler and falling in love with a woman named Bria Tharen. That backstory was wiped out a couple years ago, though, and the new backstory will be told in movie form. Pablo's tweets will be played by either Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, or Dave Franco. The film's tagline is reportedly 'By the way, don't consider me canon!'
No no, It was a few weeka ago and he specifically mentions he doesn't know about the developments in SWTOR. Why don't they create a Canon group?
Why do canon articles use information from the starwars.com encyclopedia that was taken down as a result of the sale to Disney?
No idea, especially weird since other tie-in info for TCW is cut from the canon versions or articles. The Treaty of Iziz, Tarkin's memo to Palpatine etc.
It was still active for months after the Legends announcement, and it did not contain any EU information.
I just figured out why my edit to the X-Wing Miniatures Game article was reverted and why TFA Core Set article is named the way it is, and it is as I feared, minutiae to the extreme. Because FFG only started referring to the expansion waves as Wave # for wave 4, they seriously want to go with an inconsistent naming scheme. It is a similar story with TFA Core Set, because FFG didn't use X-Wing in the listing of the set in their store, they decided to go with that, even though there are links with the longer name on the main article for the game. Which was probably similar reasoning why X-Wing was dropped from the expansion article names.
A while ago I made an article from something in the TFA VD that wasn't up there yet. I had the info cited, even had the canon notification on top. Checked on it today out of curiosity and it was deleted with no explanation by an admin right after I made the article. I just don't get why Wookieepedia doesn't have as many contributors any more!
For the record - since this was requoted the other day - admins do not have the ability to block individual devices like cell phones.
Why has any mention of the Rebellion/Rebel Alliance now turned to "The Alliance to Restore the Republic"? We still use Separatists instead of Confederacy of Independent Systems.
The pages seem similar to me: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Alliance_to_Restore_the_Republic The Alliance to Restore the Republic, commonly known as the Rebel Alliance, Alliance, or the Rebellion, http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Confederacy_of_Independent_Systems The Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS), also known as the Separatist Alliance, the Separatist State, or simply as the Separatists,
