You know what would be funny. If Rey is actually of Royal lineage and she and Kylo were set up to be together some day, so Snoke put her on Jakku so she wouldn't interfere with Kylo Ren and what his mission was.
Or else Snoke threatened someone in the long run or saw a vision of the woman who would interfere with Kylo.
Maybe it was Snoke who got rid of Rey. Maybe Snoke noticed something before. I'm not saying he himself got rid of her but it's possible that he could have had a vision. A threat to the Galaxy.

True. And I think that's what goes on with his disbelief that she's a scavenger. I think they cut from the movie, "really, you're just a scavenger?", and the one they didn't cut: "you, a scavenger". He's having a hard time coming to terms with that. And why would he be upset that a simple hostage is a scavenger? Why would he be upset that a scavenger got the map? ( though that's what he says). It's more like he is already feeling some kind of admiration/fascination/fuzzy feelings and can't come to terms that he's feeling this stuff for a scavenger. Is there any other explanation, really? That he would be surprised that she'd be strong in the force? Children from all backgrounds are force sensitive.

And on the fairy-tales. There is the trope of the prince under the spell/control of an evil wizard/witch, who is freed by a virtuous heroine.

Snoke doesn't seem to know anything about Rey until Kylo tells him, though, so I don't think Snoke has anything to do with her past. That being said, she could be of royal lineage.

Speaking of royals, both the PT and the OT had a royal or ex-royal involved in the main romance. If Kylo is the only royal, he should be in the romance. The thing is that the name Rey seems related to something royal, so perhaps, she could have some kind of royal blood.

You mean like Princess Aurora and Prince Philip, Princess Rey and Prince Ben were betrothed as children in order to assure the peace in the galaxy once they grow up and get married. But evil Snoke messed up with the plan by cursing Prince Ben and sending Princess Rey away. But the Force moves in mysterious way and it sent the Prince and Princess on each others path.

Force22 Rey's ultra posh accent that puts Prince Ben's Yankee one to shame is so un-scavenger like that one has to wonder. She's the poshest-accented desert dweller since Ben Kenobi and we know how that one turned out. :p

yeah, Prince Ben is definitely that trope.

Yea something along those lines maybe :) could have happened who knows right? They could have been introduced to each other in the hopes of falling in love and while Snoke maybe saw this, he decided to Crack the whip at this point..... Its a wild theory though haha

Rey doesn't show any signs towards finn as he does with her?...She practically begged him to stay with her when they were at Maz's Castle..She was ready to die with him when star killer base was collapsing....She gave him a kiss goodbye on her way to look for luke.I believe with Kylo Ren she is transfixed with how menacing he presented himself with the mask on and how pleasant he looked without it. I think she was transfixed with his duality not in a Romantic fashion but more of a intrigue into the monster's psychology. Now i have no idea how any of us could know wether she finds Finn physically attractive or not. I do know if you are talking about love interest and marriage that her choice right now as we speak would definitely be finn.

But the accent is posh on Earth, right? I wouldn't think it counts in the GFFA... and I don't think it means she's a Kenobi, as accents are not genetic. I don't know, for me her accent is from Jakku.

I'm not saying I expect it to play out that way in this case, I was merely illustrating the vibe I personally got from the scenes between Finn and Rey. Finn is attempting to position himself as potential boyfriend material. Rey has her focus elsewhere for the time being and is content with friendship. That doesn't rule out FinnRey being the default couple setting if needs be. It's not the stuff of legends, but it seems to be popular enough with people who like their romance like their Starbucks coffee i.e served in familiar-looking packaging and sweet enough to make your teeth itch! :p

It's similar because the knight worships and pledges allegiance to his lady as if she were a queen. But notice how, in these scenes, she is not knighting him. Look up courtly love. There's this aspect of almost worshipping the loved woman. She can be a queen, like in the case of Guinevere and Lancelot. But still, she's not the one who performs the knighting ceremony.

Still, in the case of knighting, it's the reversal people mentioned. He's the royal one, kneeling before the scavenger. It's interesting either way.

Well, accent may be posh on Earth but if you use posh accent even in a space movies, you send a certian message. There's a reason why Scottish Kanjiclub speaks in a Scottish brogue. Cause he ain't posh. :p

I know, but I mean with Rey it is more on friendly terms. Believe it or not I know of someone who ended up marrying someone they hated. People can be friendly and love their friends too but it doesn't define who they end up with.
The person I know is my aunt. When she was a teen she was pursued by her now husband, who she hated! And I mean hated, my mother goes on about this all the time.
Her pursuer who is now my uncle, made sure that men who liked her didn't get close, he was ruthless with it and he would treat her with presents and kind gestures. Because he did this he should be bad in her eyes more. Eventually after a few dates she learned to like him and eventually to everyone's surprise she fell in love and got married. The same thing happened with her daughter my cousin. She was pursued by a man who would see her as she walked to work in the morning and it really annoyed her. She would come to my house at her lunch break to talk to my mother and she would tell my mother that she hates him and she is sick of him asking her out. Once she went on a date she gave him another chance and the rest is history.

Yes Finn does like Rey but things don't always end up being so black and white and life lessons show us that.

Lily in Harry Potter ended up with the man who bullied her best friend. So it's possible that whatever way their stories transpire, Rey could end up falling in love with..... Not kylo Ren, but Ben Solo, which she seems to bring out.

I mentioned the poster, and I knew I forgot a couple details. Let's look at the vertical poster:

Finn and Rey are now by each other, but they are facing opposite directions, and not on the same level. Finn seems to be behind. Rey still looks like she's side by side with Kylo, facing the same direction.

This has been mentioned before, but it's good to bring it up again. What's up with the symbol of the resistance on Kylo's robe? (right shoulder) Does it mean that's he's true nature? Is it a hint he'll become one of the good guys? Is it just because he's the son of the leader of the resistance? I mean, it's really big. I don't think a straight up villain would be portrayed with such a symbol in the poster.

Well, Obi-wan was Scottish, and he was certainly posh. (Well, Alec Guinness was Irish.) Wedge (Ewan's uncle) was also Scottish, and no-one accused him of being a Glasgow toughie.

Daisy doesn't actually sound supremely posh, to British ears. She's got more than a hint of Sarf London.

There is actually a lot of fairy tale themes in this film. Much like the girl who is forbidden to marry a nobody like Aurora who is told she is a princess and she must marry a prince when Kylo Ren is told that compassion is bad and he must be shown the ways of the Darkside yet again this is like someone being told that are not allowed go down this road.
After he meets her in the forest.

I just want to point out something. We hear a lot of talk about the heroic trio, blah, blah,. Yet this is how ANH ends:

And this is how TFA ends:

    Finn is in coma
Poe and his squad are presumably among the crowd that's
CHEERING Rey who flies off to find Luke

Make no mistake, heroic trio promo is big fat bull. Rey is THE hero and it isn't even close. So everyone who's looking for Luke, Han, Leia references should look elsewhere. On hero side, there's Rey and then there's everyone else. The way the movie ends, clearly points out that only what Rey does is important. There's no shared glory with blowers of the Star Killer. It's only she who gets the big cheer. I mean, they could have totally pulled an ANH ending and gather Rey, Finn, Poe, etc to receive medals or whatever, which would symbolically make Rey Finn Poe the heroic trio, although they never interacted as such til that moment. But they didn't. So I fully expect more independent Rey scenes than Rey + other 2.

Why is this important for Reylo? Because from narrative POV, if you put your heroine on such pedestal, than pairing her up with a lower ranked character in terms of importance diminishes her status. So there are only 2 logical solutions: she stays unattached romantically (cause nobody's worthy enough) or you pair her with the highest ranked character from the opposite side (because that just reinforces the notion that she is special cause such pairing is rare and always comes with specialty).

Its shortsighted to only consider the hero as the one that's celebrated at the end. Everyone involved in the attack on the base is a hero, Finn, Rey, Poe, Chewie, and Han especially.

Well in life things don't always end up how you want it to be however this is a movie and I don't believe the writers are going to give us so obvious scenario's and just leave the audience hanging so empty in this manor to where Finn and Rey don't have a resolution considering the feelings they have the long hug the kiss etc..I don't believe we are going to see a movie to where Rey is going to get married to kylo ren as u are describing above doesn't make sense. Now from a symbolic position the reylo ideals make a little sense but from a literal standpoint this villian isn't going to kiss the bride and ride out into the sunset.

take it to film-makers cause they clearly marked Rey as more heroic and important than anyone else. It's all about what's on the screen and what's on the screen spelled out that Rey getting Luke's lightsaber was more important than blowing of the SK base. Hence her scene getting an iconic scene-making treatment and her getting the big cheer from the crowd when Falcon took off. While everyone else was, like, it goes without saying that they are heroes. Not the same thing at all. So when fans seem to slight character B or character C in their discussion, maybe it's because the movie itself didn't trip itself over to make that character seem that important. Screen time and actual importance don't necessarily go hand in hand.

Well look at it this way, yes Finn and Rey could be a thing it's obvious, but Kylo Ren and Rey could also fall in love which I believe will happen at some point. I'm convinced it will actually. However it doesn't mean they will get married. Ever see Edward Scissorhands? The girl ends up falling for him but they split apart because of social pressure. Sad but true and I'm not trying to say they will get married, if anything it could be open ended.

And Chewie didn't get a medal just because he's not human. Not fair!

In TFA, I'm willing to bet there was a scene like that. From the trailer, we have the "today, hope is not lost, it is found", and Maz would be there as well, there's the scene in the trailer when she hands Leia the lightsaber. I was hoping for a funeral service for Han. I think they cut too much from the movie.

Still, the real ending was always planned to be Rey alone, walking up steps to meet Luke. So yes, she's the hero, and not part of a duo or trio. Poe doesn't even interact with her, so he's not part of any trio. Finn is important, and yet, when Rey arrives at the base, she lets Poe and Chewie take care of Finn and embraces Leia. It's almost as if her relationship with Leia is more important than her relationship with Finn. I think it makes sense because Leia is her mother figure, since Han was a father figure. Finn is a friend, Leia is family, that's how I read it.

    Great post vaderito.=D=
I actually suspect that the trio for the next movie and maybe the rest of the trilogy will be Finn,Poe and Kelly Marie Tran's character while Kylo and Rey will be their own dynamic duo.
And how annoying is it that wanting Rey to be a Radom makes you authomatically a Reylo shipper? And even those who ship Kylo and Rey think of Rey's character first and what would work best for her character arc not as an extension of a ship.
