It's also suggested in the novel that he does not want to probe her mind or hurt her. He actually says he'll go easy on her, in the film you can see he is not hurting her as much as he did Poe. He also looks like it makes him uncomfortable that he's hurting her..

I saw that tweet too. "Space Bear" is the production title of Episode 8. It's a panda in an astronaut helmet.

Even Rian Johnson did tweet about "the panda" before, but at that time no one knew what it meant.

Wow...I never saw this tweet...makes me all the more convinced there is something more to the working title....:D

While the Space Panda Program is still at a speculative stage, I just read that another aspect they plan to look into is Cloning i.e. using a dead panda's genes for cloning....that also lends some interesting possibilities for episode 8 - Rey being related to a dead jedi or sith?

This conversation has gone in an interesting direction haha

The cloning would be interesting. Kylo Ren did mention clones to Hux... Though they already did clones in the PT... hmmm...

Also I looked up panda's on the very sophisticated spiritanimal.info site and here:

The panda is a powerful spirit animal inspiring tranquil strength and determination. Under its soft and fuzzy appearances, this animal totem brings forth the importance of strong personal boundaries to feel safe and grounded in life. If you have the panda as spirit animal or totem, you may be inclined to be emotional and feel like you need strong material and physical comfort to feel at ease in your life. Symbolic of the ability to find a balanced and nurturing path through life, it will encourage those who have it as totem or power animal to integrate different aspects of their personality in an harmonious whole.
The symbolism of the panda also encompasses personal and spiritual qualities, such as:

    • Integration of polarized aspects of yourself, such as feminine and masculine energies
    • Heart-centered energy, nurturing ability
    • Importance of emotions
    • Calm determination, ability to take time to reach your goals
    • Importance of private space and personal boundaries
Those who have the panda as spirit animal can be very sensitive and easily prone to emotional ups and downs. This animal is characterized by its very high sensitivity to its surroundings and can quickly become stressed when there is too much movement or noise around. If you identify with the panda totem, you’re likely very aware of your environment and the energies around you. While this is a useful quality, make sure your learn how to keep your emotional balance
This all sounds kinda grey jedi / kylo ren / rey. I don't even know anymore. haha It certainly does seem to be about balancing the light and dark sides of the force though.

Definitely. I mean, it isn't as if they are 2 different persons all together but but I'd like to see presentation of inner struggle when Ben overtakes Kylo without some Jekyl/Hide cheese. I never buy stuff when character is evil and then in 3 seconds becomes good and smiles happily, you know like cliche possession stuff, when "good" one acts as if he/she just woke up and looks confused and smiles sweetly like an idiot. I think that they can do something really incredible acting-wise with Ben-splits-from-Kylo without repeating cliches.

Before you read too much into the space bear title. Wasn't TFA called like AVCO or Foodles? Did that have any significance to think space bear/panda is hinting at the movie?

AVCO was the name of the theatre in which JJ Abrams saw Star Wars...so it could be more to do with nostalgia. I haven't really looked into the significance of Foodles (beyond showing Disney's ownership) as yet.

Then in the OT, ROTJ was called "Blue Harvest" as a nod to the novel/movie "Red Harvest"which inspired Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo and in turn A Fistful of Dollars...and Akira Kurosawa's work has a heavy influence on SW storylines.

I'm not saying the working title has to reveal the exact plot of the story...but there is no harm in exploring the possible storylines. :)

Everyone is going bloody crazy trying to sort out Rey's past but almost no one is asking about Kylo's? Why he turned; why no one picked up Snoke was manipulating him since birth; what ultimately caused him to go dark? His past and reasonings for turning against his family is just as crucial, to the triligy, as Rey's parentage and lineage.

These are movies where spaceships can travel faster than light, weapons completely drain a star to charge up, people can move things with their mind, shoot lightning from their fingertips, and have swords with blades made of light. But yes, everything must be like our world, especially interrogation techniques. We can play loose with the laws of physics, but not with interrogation techniques because... <insert excuse here>.

There isn't really a "sci-fi interrogation". An interrogation is what it is. A primitive, sometimes barbaric, act.

Like any other aspect of the story, they can bend the rules to fit the story. They can certainly change the dynamic and "rules" of interrogation for dramatic purposes without having to worry about believability. I'd imagine that more people know about the basic laws of physics than they do interrogation techniques. They have no qualms bending the laws of physics.

Just spent time reading synopsis for A Fistful of Dollars and Yojimbo. So Luke would be the ronin/Man with No Name?

Reylo is a ship that writes itself. I decided to break down their scenes into:

Proper Reylo (Actual Rey and Kylo interaction)

    Takodana forest meeting
    Interrogation
Fight in the woods on SK

Reylo Connection (Rey and Kylo are either in the same scene but don't interact or they talk/hear about one another)

    WHAT GIRL?
"One boy, the apprentice, turned against him and destroyed it all"
    Rey's vision of Kylo
Kylo talks about Rey with Snoke
Rey is watching Kylo and Han

Metaphoric Reylo (Rey and Kylo individually interact with people or get in possession of things that belong to either of them)

Rey and MF, Han, Chewie, Leia, Luke, Anakin's lightsaber (people and stuff connected to Kylo)
Kylo's scar (that rey gave him)

I especially like "what GIRL" "one BOY" thing and that forest/woods is such a strong motive in their story. They met in the woods and
their last scene was in the woods. Also, anyone noticed up and down motive that isn't just in Interrogation where he's kneeling?
In the Han killing scene, he sees Rey when Chewie's blast brings him to his knees. he's already positioned on the level below, and
then he looks up and sees her and Finn. but, again, we have that kneeling motive that he's on his knee when he looks up and
sees her. And in the final fight, she brings him to his knees when she extinguished his lightsaber.

What rules? The only thing they can bend/change is the dynamic portrayed. There are no "rules" for interrogation. And the dynamic is viewed differently from person to person. Some saw compassion and intimacy, others saw an aggressive show of power that gave them the chills in a bad way.

Okay then, we agree. Not sure why that point was brought up, initially, but I had to refute it.

A Private Screening with Princess Leia and Rey

Adam admitted to Howard that while he usually never watches anything he's in, he made an exception for "Star Wars."

"I came from a theater background where you don't get to see it," Adam said, explaining that he hates seeing the mistakes he makes and not being able to fix them. He felt comfortable sitting through "Star Wars" though because of how much he and his co-stars put into their performances.

"We did so much work on it afterwards," Adam said. "It kind of seemed like maybe I should try getting over it. Plus, it's 'Star Wars.'"

A private screening of the film was set up for just Adam, Carrie Fisher and Daisy Ridley.

"And some guy in the back running it," Adam told Howard.

Well, Reylo is A Thing. I'm convinced of that now. When I took into account all things in the movie, marketing that didn't even hint on it (aka NOT A MISDIRECTION) and the fact that nobody associated with the production comments on it (they talk Storm Pilot a lot, for example)...yeah. it's A Thing.

I understand your thought process there but let's be honest, the storm pilot pairing is a much more light hearted couple and much easier to talk about

Because whenever Kylo Ren interacts with her or is around, she uses the Force in an over the top extremely odd way. Maybe this could be a Force Bond.
Everything he tries to do to her, she turns the tables on him to a high degree.
So my thoughts are..... She has some sort of force bond with Kylo Ren and to me and a few people here, he's her real teacher. I know Pablo Hidalgo is a veeerrrryyy unreliable source, but even before he said this "maybe Kylo Ren was already teaching Rey even before he offered to be her teacher".... Even before he said that, some people here thought it was a Force bond. Rey some how able to feed from Kylo Ren.

I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Luke can't teach Rey. I bet he could teach her of course, but I don't think her powers will reach their max. I imagine they will when Kylo comes into the picture.

I would think that Luke would be able to teach her to a higher potential than Kylo. He's far more powerful than Kylo, he learned from Yoda and Obi-Wan, and he's Luke effin' Skywalker. I think both Rey and Kylo will train under Luke towards the end of this trilogy, or it will be implied between trilogies.

As for the gray Jedi part, I think that's why Luke sought out the first Jedi temple.
