who else chose to fight when the jedi refuse? hmmm? REVAN. What did Revan cause? The scourge of Malachor. It's coming. The Canonization of one of our favorites.

Really good episode, one of the best honestly.
First Yoda telling Ezra to find Malachor after he told him they want to 'fight' is pretty telling, it may be a kind of final test for Ezra and is probably where he meet Maul.
Kanan who becomes a Jedi knight, the red lightsaber has to be a warning, though.
Ahsoka's vision of Anakin wasn't really long, hell called her 'selfish' and that she 'failed him'. She tried to justify her choice and then he turned into Vader with the breathing who says nothing.
Inquisitors find the temple and everything start to tremble. And Yoda waved to Ahsoka, that was cute.
I didn't have a problem with Yoda's model, but I'm pretty sure people will complain, happens everytime with movie characters.
And as expected, Vader appeared in the last minute and had the last line "it will be their undoing".
The fight at the begining was better than I expected, and Kanan and Ezra really struggled. Ezra used his connection power with animals to save them
Edit: Important information, last time Ahsoka saw Anakin was just before he went to save the chancellor.
In short, a great episode. 9/10

My jaw is still on the floor.

Sort of felt like watching TFA fort the first time in the cinema.

Best Rebels episode for sure, 10/10.

So the Jedi temple guards turned out to be some silly Force illusion. Not surprising, seems the temple works like Dagobah cave , and whole "only what you take you" applies. Kanan's fear and greatest enemy was the [Grand] Inquisitor. I get a bit of Conan The Destroyer crystal palace vibe from the scene. Yoda informing Ezra to go to Malachor, because he chose to fight appears Yoda is sending the boy to be trained by Darth Maul.

I was right about Malachor. The Sith Holocron has got to be either Revan's or Nihilus. Great episode over all

Except, Vorax, in this case it's somewhat of a different type of Force vision. You have an error in your logic. The idea that Kanan's fear was the Grand Inquistor can be thrown into the trash immediately, as in the S1 fight made clear, with Kanan's dialogue, that Kanan no longer feared the Inquistor in their final duel, fully tapping into the Force in S1's finale. This was due to Ezra supposed fall and death in the eyes of Kanan. Without the fear of failing as teacher, cause at the point he believed he already failed, Kanan could fully let go of his fear of failure.

Sadly, after Grand Quizzy got beat and let himself go, Ezra turned up breathing, bringing back the stress and fear of failure Kanan has had for years.

Now talking about the Force visions nature.
Now it is still a force vision, but there's some unique factors that differentiate this from force visions on Dagobah.

Like you said, in Dagobah's cave you only take what is already within you. But in this case, Kanan's fear wasn't the Grand Inquistor. He feared the authority of a true Jedi saying that he is failure as a teacher, and Ezra will fall to darkness, and he fears being unable to protect Ezra as Ezra's mentor figure. Only when Kanan, accepts that he can't protect Ezra forever, and that he needs to have faith that he has taught Ezra well

The Grand Inquistor's image wouldn't be required for the Force to test Kanan. In fact it would be contributory as the reason Kanan is being pitted against Jedi in the vision is because it represents Kanan's insecurities and lack of confidence as a Jedi. True Jedi say Ezra must die and that Kanan is a failure, but if the. Grand Inquisitor is in that position, it contradicts the point of the vision, as Grand Quizzy was a darksider when he died.

And that leads into the unique aspect of the force vision. The Force canning grant Jedi Knighthood, as the Force is a neutral entity in the games of Sith and Jedi, a tool that both groups use. The Grand Inquistor, we know thanks to Filoni was once a Jedi Temple Guard. The Force created the vision, but it's implied in my opinion that the reason Grand Quizzy is there even though it contradicts the visions entire lesson, is because G.Quizzy's spirit was considered the most suitable individual to test and evaluate if Kanan was worthy of Knighthood. After all, G.Quizzy saw Kanan at his weakest in terms of being a Jedi, and throughout S1 saw Kanan grow in skill and strength, and inventively lost to him. If anyone had the most experience to evaluate Kanan, it would be G.Quizzy.

But the real question is, is G.Quizzy, a spirit aiming to atone for his crimes as a darksider by serving the Force, an imprint of Quizzy from his Jedi Guard days that Force brought out to test Kanan, or simply the Force using an image from Kanan's past as a way to communicate, (I think the last one is the least likely, as I said above, the Force can't grant Knighthood, only the Jedi order can.)

There is no error, The [Grand] Inquisitor cannot form a Spirit/Ghost since he was a Dark Sider right up until he died, nor was he ever redeemed nor did an act of redemption. The Force Priestesses had the ability to take any forms she/they wanted, including the Jedi Order, Count Dooku, an evil Yoda and Darth Bane, , so Yoda taking the forms he wished through the Force as he obviously has the abilities of Jinn and The Force Priestesses through the Jinn teachings.

Watched it this morning. Holy Sith.... 100000/10 for me!

Right from the start we get one of the best lightsaber duels in Rebels, and it felt intense! From there, the plot only kicked it in hyperspace. Ahsoka's role was fantastic, and got tears in my eyes during her vision. Some great voice work there between Ashley and Matt. And seeing Anakin in the hologram was great, hearing him talk about form IV and practicing it. And Yoda showing the Clone Wars was magnificent. And Ahsoka and Anakin met again before Episode III? I really need to see this!! Such an amazing episode, can't wait for the last 4!

    What a fantastic episode!
And can we be getting ready for the re-canonizing of Revan and the Mandalorian Wars?! That whole discussion between Yoda and Ezra about why Jedi shouldn't fight ending with Yoda sending him to Malachor, what better lesson than Revan and his followers on the dangers of Jedi involving themselves in war

In regard to the idea of the Grand Quizzy taking a form, I think it could be a form of a ghost but not a full on one like Yoda, Obi Wan, Qui Gon and Anakin. It could be like a ghost staying in a cycle till he atones for his actions where he's at the temple till he's able to reconnect with his light side.

That's an interesting theory. Rebels does seem to be breaking a lot of new ground in regards to force visions and the afterlife, and it will be interesting to see where LFL's story group goes with this. The Grand Inquisitor could have been just a force vision, but the part that makes me wonder if there's more to it than that is when the current Inquisitors see him as well. How could Kanan's vision continue on for others to participate in, even when Kanan has left the room? I'm guessing that in the end, it is going to be ruled a vision, but is this the first time that something like this has happened in Star Wars canon?

Overall I liked this one as the scale of the conflict is getting bigger. I just hope this force stuff doesn't eventually completely overshadow what the show is theoretically about-the rebellion. Plus, I didn't like the opening. All the Saturday morning cartoon banter between Ezra and Kanan made the Inquisitors look like chumps. Perhaps that's the point, but it would be nice for the Empire to have a handful of competent agents. At first I didn't like Yoda's model but I must say it grew on me. Looks more like a weird rubber Jim Henson puppet and less like the bulging-eyed anime thing he was in TCW. Anakin, however, looked weird and fat-faced like he had a severe allergic reaction to a bee sting. That said, its counterbalanced by his excellent voice acting. I don't know exactly what those Grand Inquisitors/temple guards were but they were really cool and had a nice twist with Kanan's "knighting." I guess in Ahsoka's eyes (and possibly Yoda's) Ezra and Kanan are jedi. Hopefully this gets resolved before ANH. Otherwise it doesn't make sense for Obi-Wan to be Leia's "only hope."

    >Kid is strong in the force, aware of the danger, I am.
    >Send him to a planet Inappropriate in the dark side it is, I must

    My thoughts
The best bit was undoubtedly Ahsoka's vision, though that was seperate from the main story.

The inquisitors are so useless that Kanan can block them while holding on to Ezra and chat 1 liners at the same time. In fact I'm wondering why the ran, since Ahsoka owned them easily anyway (the logic/cop out that they might send more is weak to say the least. While Yoda is now on Force Skype and warns of danger by sending Ezra to s Sith planet hmmm.

The first whoops I mean Grand Inquisitor temple guard reveal again is a bit pointless since he's dead.

Overall 7.5 possibly 8 being generous. Best episode of Rebels so far though.

Also, people need to remember to write both [ spoiler ] and [/ spoiler ], otherwise the spoilers might show up unblocked on tapatalk. It can also screw up the code if such a post is quoted.

But yes, definitely use tags until the TV airing.

Do we really need Ezra to become more like a Anakin wannabe?

If he turns dark he should......

    1. DIE while being evil in Rebels (perhaps the end)

A good explanation for why he isn't in the OT and help to differentiate from Anakin. Also makes it more tragic.

    2. Survive Rebels but as a dark jedi. He could still be alive in the OT era, but him being dark prevents him being counted as a Jedi. If he did survive Rebels imo his life should end in either the OT era or after RoTJ (he shouldn't live to be an old man into the TFA era).
