I love how Rey and Finn face their fears (Finn with Kylo Ren, Rey with accepting the lightsaber) to help each other. At first they refuse to face what they were afraid of (Finn knowing how dangerous Kylo/the FO is and what they were capable of as we saw with the Hosnian system/Rey refusing to accept that her family is not coming back and to seek what was ahead). Once their friend is in danger, they finally take that step in avenging them, thinking the other could possibly be dead. This theme of teamwork could (and I think will) manifest itself again in VIII and IX and be one of the main aspects of their relationship, where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

The script, the novel, and Rey's story make it seem like, by the end, Rey is the one who's more attached to Finn than he is to her. The only reason it doesn't seem that way in the movie is because, like someone said earlier, we don't get to see what the characters themselves think. For example, people watching the movie just see Rey crying over Finn's body after her fight with Kylo. They can tell that she is affected by it from her crying, but they can't tell that she's "holding this boy who she just met, who she already adores". That's why I think people are under the impression that Finn's feelings for Rey are never reciprocated. The filmmakers know what they're doing though, so I'm not too worried. I won't be surprised if, by the end of 8, Rey and Finn's relationship is still up in the air, but I fully expect their relationship to be further developed by the end of 8.

Now that I think about it, when Finn wakes up (unless someone tells him these things), he won't have any idea that Rey was willing to die with him on SKB, and he also won't know how affected she was by his coma, or that she kissed him and told herself they'll see each other again. I wonder if RJ will utilize that in any way to work on their relationship.

In comes Chewie. He will inform Finn just like he informed Rey.

I think the look on Rey's face during their reunion hug pretty much says it all.

Remember, Finn couldn't see her face at that time either lol. Her facial expression visibly changes once they're actually hugging. It's another thing that we the viewers can see, but one of the characters can't. It seems like every time something happens that strengthens their relationship, one of them either doesn't notice it or can't see it.

Well we know he dropped her off. We still need to figure out if they stay on the island alone or they all go back shortly after introduction

I still don't really buy that Rey was more attached to Finn than he was her. I think they simply express their affection and love for each other in different ways. I mean, Finn was willing to die for her two times after only knowing her for a day or so. I've seen the argument made that Finn fulfilled an emotional need of Rey's that she didn't fill for him, but I'd say the whole 'you looked at me like no one ever had' speech at Maz's says otherwise. She was the first person to look at him like he was a person, like he was of value.

Now, whether Finn knows that she's just as attached to him is up for debate, and could cause some issues down the line.

I'm not surprised. Depa Billaba in the Kanan comics flat-out stated that the Jedi were going about everything all wrong. We're not getting the old order back.

Yes. These are the structural filmmaking techniques of a RomCom. All of their scenes were interrupted/truncated by obstacles, happenstance, and events to prevent them from fully expressing themselves to each other. Their scenes seem to reach an emotional crescendo only to be abruptly cut off because of *reasons.*

Right. Not sure it can be proved either way. They are both clearly attached to each other.

if there is a romantic attraction, I don't think its one sided. I do think they are very mutually invested in each other regardless.

Agreed. It's difficult to tell in the film because Rey is a very guarded character, but the junior novelization makes the point that she finds him physically attractive to the point of distraction when they first introduce themselves, and then there's the "you must feel something" line later on. As I said, I think both of them are on the same page, they just show it in different ways.

These people better wake up and smell the coffee. They are setting themselves up just like the media did to the American public during the OJ trial. They are not paying attention to what is actually going on, and just like when the verdict was read many whites were in shock by the outcome, but if they paid attention to the trial instead of the media they would have known that OJ was not guilty.

Boyega was all over this film and just based on the DVD release we will have three more scenes of him. Boyega's character is central to the story being told. People better recognize.

I highly doubt there will be a Finn and Poe show. Finn knows more about the First Order than anyone including Leia. You don't send your most knowledgeable soldier on errand missions. I can see Finn spending time with Leia. How much I don't know, but I am quite sure Leia will pick him for everything he knows.

Off Topic: You ain't lyin. To this day, whenever I ask people what convinces them of OJ's guilt, they can't give an answer besides "oh come on, you know he's guilty.". Whereas I can pinpoint exactly when I became convinced of his innocence and what evidence played a role in that. People get caught up in lynch mob think and don't even pay attention to facts that are being presented. It becomes all about what narrative is being forwarded by the media. To this day, they're still trying to assert the "he's guilty" narrative when it comes to OJ.

It's all in the details. When power is in your favor, you can ignore those things.
I think that is one of the reasons why we hear some of the crazy theories for Episode VIII. Some believe that they are still in a position to ignore the details.
