Really? I saw him on the Jimmy Kimmel show and he had only recieved a call from them a few weeks befor TFA came around. And that was to recored a few lines of dialogue.

 

YEEEES!!! finally someone who agrees with me. Luke was totally looking down at the saber. In that moment he knew getting his saber back meant he would have to come back. I mean he could always refuse but no he won't. He knew whoever she was ( he probably knew she was with the resistance ) she was there to bring him back and make him get involved again,

 

Yeah, that's why in my early theories over at the Rey lineage thread (of the TFA topics group) I named him Mark Ren. And here's the thing -- Mark Stanley, before TFA was released, was credited as "Clan leader" on IMDB. When the film came out, his credit on the film was "Knight of Ren" (which also changed his IMDB credit). When someone asked Mark on twitter which KOR he was, his answer was 'the one who got skewered'. When someone asked Pablo Hidalgo who was the one who got skewered in the Force back, his answer was "production identified him as 'clan leader'. And so my take on it is Mark Stanley appears to be playing two roles in TFA. That's what fueled my theory that maybe he used to be KOR, defected, then became clan leader somewhere. That's probably why Kylo is extremely sensitive to traitors. Why he's called by production as "clan leader" while called by the movie as "Knight of Ren" is probably no accident, because they seem to make no effort to correct it. I think it's the mini-bone they're throwing to hint that something's fishy with that guy.

 

So what exactly are you saying?

 

I like this! Another possibility is that, if this is in the past, Mark Ren could actually be the leader of the knights of ren, and Kylo stabs him, thus usurping his spot.

I read a lot of articles like the above ones that Ewan McGregor is in talks with Disney and there will be either a single spin off or a trilogy on Obiwan's life during the time between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

 

I agree. I think he will iniatally refuse the lightsabre. We find out Luke is in a depression. Devastated he failed Ben and was unable to save his students. I think the movie will be less Luke training Rey and more Rey convincing Luke to come back and give the galaxy hope again. To cut a long story short I think Rey will leave Luke to rescue Finn and Leia. She will save them but have a big chase with the Knights of Ren. Just as she is about to be klled Luke appears. He force grabs the blue lightsabre and fights and defeats the Ren's. By using the blue sword this would symbolise that he is ready to return.

 

I would say Obi Wan is as well known as Yoda, and if Yoda was suddenly brought in to have some relevence (I think with Maz) then it will not be a shock..It's not like Obi Wan is some random character from some comic book in the EU.

It would be shocking if she was a Kenobi? People were also shocked when they threw in that Vader was Luke's father.

I've said this a million times. The writers of this new trilogy do not care about the opinions of the sector of hardcore star wars fans (they do not make up the majority of people who saw this movie), This very sector had a huge issue with a woman being cast as lead and a black man being cast as lead. They believed "star wars should be about men" and the writers did not care and went the way they wanted to. There is a possible Obi Wan Kenobi movie coming out after this trilogy is done, her being a Kenobi will help to launch interest in that movie.

They literally threw out Lucas' treatments for episode 7,8 and 9 and they did not care if star wars fans did not like this. This is the story they want to tell.

Seriously I posted this yonks back. Leia is Shmi Skywalker's Granddaughter. Am just putting out there we really know nothing about Jedi biology especially among females, who knows what happens to a force sensitive womb? All stuff regarding force senstivity comes from the male side, there maybe so much we still don't know about force sensitive reproduction. We can never know until something is placed in cannon what is fable and what is true. Even no matter how remote the chances are I would love love some background information on this. Shmi had a special womb without doubt. Besides I was not really been serious - just objective. We don't hold the pen, who knows what is going to be written until the end. The OT changed and developed through out maybe things can still change now. We don't control executive decisions.

 

I saw it as that too, but then decided to look at it in a different way and it could easily be her recalling something, her eyes are squinting, secondly in the novel, she sees a woman and a kid come off of a ship, then her eyes fall on the old lady...that to me could be quite telling if it was her Grandmother who left her on Jakku.

 

Yeah, thought about that too -- seeing that Mark Stanley appears older than presumably a younger Kylo Ren back then. He's not wearing a KOR-looking costume though so I doubt he was still KOR when he got skewered (if he ever was KOR). However this theory doesn't lend well to Rey ever falling in love with Kylo so I must only whisper this theory and hope it goes unnoticed in the torrent of messages on this thread.

 

Loved it too Such an unexpected dorky line from a strong force user and dark sider on top of it. I am laughing only thinking about it. Wonder who came up with that line.

This song is a Reylo song IMO. Its lyrics sums up the frustration and inability to communicate with Rey. Plus it fits some of their interactions to a t.

I don't know anything about the Playlists and it bugs me! Who's in charge?! Do they listen to the songs they choose??

I do know that they update them and add songs from time to time. I forgot to mention the most recent addition to Rey's playlist from 2 weeks ago, called "Smoke and Fire".

It was a shock when Vader was revelaed as Luke's father. But it was shocking because he was the main villian!. And Luke had thought he killed his father. It worked because it was shocking and simple and easy to explain. The whole "OB1 is Reys grandfather" is not so easy to explain. You have to tell the General audience who OB1 is, who his child was and why the child left Rey on Jakku. Maybe that is do able for a new audience, unfamilar with OB1. But to more familar audience members like myself I could not gloss over that. As a fan who has NOT read all the EU or seen the Clone Wars I would like to know who the grandmother was why he broke the Jedi Code WITHOUT having seen anything to back it up. The really REALLY clever thing Lucas did with ESB was he called it Episode 5 not episode 2. He gave himself 3 more movies before ANH to explain Darth Vaders story. So it all fit into the overall saga quite well. If you say OB1 had an affair then it should have been shown, or at least acknowledged in a previous episode if it was so important to the overall story.

 

I live up north. I seriously thought about it but the main hall was sold out within hours. The accommodation round and about is full booked up and some even tripled the prices. The second tier tickets (can't remember what the catogries are called now) were going £70-80 without the safeguard that you would even get into the main hall. I wish you all good luck though and you have a great time. Am pretty sure they will do what they did last year and record it all live and stream it on the star wars official website.
