Yes, he used past tense when telling Luke about him being a jedi.

Plus, after all Brobi-Wan went through, he doesn't owe the Jedi any more. He paid his dues and then a lot more.

There are no more Jedi at that point, so he owes nothing to no one, but himself....but if he did father a child during his Tatooine years, doesn´t that exclude Satine? Timelinewise

This makes a lot of sense I wouldn't be surprised if it's true! It makes everything complex than Kylo just being a generic- ambitious- power hungry Vader wannabe.

Which reminds me, Snoke and Kylo’s odd partnership is so similar with Prince Heinel – Emperor Zu Zambajil from the Japanese anime Voltes V. Like Kylo, the prince has a tragic past; he’s an outcast and greatly ostracized since he was young. His uncle, the emperor took advantage of that and made him his errand boy to carry out his evil plans. But the truth is, he wanted to stay in power because Prince Heinel is actually the rightful heir… I wonder if it’s the same case with Kylo and Snoke. Like you suggested, the latter probably wants to prevent Kylo from fulfilling his true destiny so Snoke used him instead to make him powerful.

(It’s also worth to mention that the anime has also some elements of SW… there’s also a familial twist between the main protagonist and the antagonist, not to mention death and redemption. It must be because it was released in the same year as first SW movie.)

He could have done a lot of things after the jedi colapsed. But he choose to stay close to Luke and watch over him. He wanted to train him in the ways of the force. By your logic Yoda could have hooked up with somebody [maybe Yaddle!] and their could be one of HIS decendants running around. Heck maybe the jedi from Rebels has a kid running around too.

Because it did not happen between Episodes 3 and 4. In the context of the story an important detail like this should have been SHOWN or at the very least MENTIONED. Not left completly off-screen. Not been mentioned by anyone.

And wouldn't that mean he abandoned his own child? Or betrayed his love of Satine by taking another woman?

Unless you provide evidence that this didn't happen, brogive me if I dismiss your claim with the same ease with which you make it.

He is along with Luke one of THE greatest hero's of this trilogy. He has sacrificed so much to see so little for it. So sorry, Obi Wan was a man who was a Jedi, not a Saint Obi Wan Jedi. However, I am open to Rey Random, Rey Skywalker, it the writers have something else in mind I am good with it.

I confess I'm a bit bemused why people call the "we don't know Rey's parents yet" option "Rey Random". If her parentage is deeply connected to the story of the ST, it isn't exactly "random", is it?

I personally think this would be best from a storytelling perspective. The story of Rey's origins could open up new horizons. Bring something new to the table. People desperately want her to be connected to this or that legacy character, but at the same time forget that memorable characters are born by being memorable, not by being connected to someone memorable. Luke and Vader were entirely new creations once, and look how well that turned out.

The story could also go in countless different directions without being restricted by the necessity of explaining how on earth X's (grand)daughter ended up abandoned on Jakku. But that's just my opinion. From my point of view the only good explanation to her being abandoned with Unkar Plutt is that somebody needed to get rid of her but didn't want to kill her. The abandonment wasn't an act of love, that's for sure. With that meagre diet, lack of proper care, dangerous working conditions and shady people (and aliens) all around her, it's actually a miracle she survived.

No to both. When a significant other dies, the living one is supposed to go without love the rest of their life?

Brobi-Wan didn't abandon the child if he didn't know about it. The mother could have hid it from him so they he wouldn't have to choose between family and duty.

So you think he went to the cantina in Mos Eisleynight after night and took home a new woman every night. Wow that would be an interesting movie!

this thread grow faster than rey instant bread

about rey is kenobi i have a theory even tought it seem unlikely. what if she or one of her parents actually a clone of obi wan. a result of experiment conduct by empire. maybe the empire create more than one clone of obi 1 and maybe each clone have designated number to it . obi 2, obi 3, obi 4 and so on hehe (this part is just lame joke :p ). It will be have less time for explanation too. they just need luke tell to rey who is obi wan after she found out she is a clone of him or one of her parent is clone of him.

but if they want to parallel rey origin with ren origin (from light family then chose the darkside). they might make her origin from the darkside family but she could be made from light and the dark too like ren (her grandparent is light but her parent is dark or other combination that might fit light and dark) which kind of fit with obi wan clone theory i guess. why she leave in jakku i think its key to her origin because jakku is the place where the empire lose the last battle and make the empire destroyed so her parent might have something to do with the empire. they might be hunted down and know they will die so they leave rey in jakku for her safety

Because George Lucas hadn't decided she was his daughter yet.

Frankly, I'm not sure what people want if they are so against Rey Kenobi, do they want Rey Skywalker instead? That's so boring. o_O

Loveee this idea!! It could connect with Luke's plan regarding jedi stuff. It can also possibly trump the notion that only Skywalkers are too freakin special!

In some conventional sense, it seems killing Han makes it him irredeemable... but in a world where the force exists with the light and dark side, it's not really impossible. Kylo's struggling and being torn apart by both sides, and he's trying to find his place in all of this. Killing Han might be his wake-up from the dark side because before he truly believed it's something he must do. But after doing it, he didn't find the peace and answer he expected. He's weakened by the act, which alone indicates that he made a huge mistake.

Maybe the child was with the mother...and he didn´t abandon it...he was too busy dying/becoming a ghost? And maybe the old hermit as he become, he didn´t llike to talk about himself...and really...with the chosen ones children around...there was no need to bring that up...I definitely don´t think he went to Cantina for a cheap thrill, hehehe....to say it´s impossible, it is not....From all Rey theories, this one is the most plausible, has most indications, and that´s my professional opinion here :)

if they are not siblings, then they are not cousins for sure

Great post! You make some really good points!Honestly the more I think about it the more Abrams's quote about TFA being the evolution of a villian actually suits Rey more.Tnink about it in the beggining of the movie Kylo's already presented as someone dangerous and evil. His very first scene was ordering the murder of an entire village.Baring that in mind did the audience really expect Kylo the one presents as arguably the villian of the movie to go back with Han?I'm sure some were shocked but others probably expect it him to kill his father.Rey on the other hand starts as quite innocent and optimistic with very subtle hints of anger and aggression leading to the battle between her and Kylo where she's shown to be ruthless and sadistic in the way she fights and defeats him.Kylo on the other side is fully stripped from the villian persona. The movie had set him to be.He's weakened horrified and socked that he had murdred his father. He makes no attempt to Kill her and actually becomes calm. The roles of the hero and the villain are reversed here which is fascinating. It would be an amazing twist if we have Kylo being drawn more and more to the Light while Rey gets darker and darker. If you think about it Rey accomplished in the first movie what Luke does in all the tree. She goes on a hero journey, become super powerful and defeats the villain.Where does she go from here?

He's trying to emulate Vader, and if not even Vader could hold on to the dark because of his son he'd known only for a short time, how can Kylo when he has his parents and Luke?

What that they both use the Jedi mind trick? Or they have similar clothes? Or that people like the idea of Vaders grandchild against OB1's child? This evidence?
