That would be too much... Han already made the huge sacrifice to save their son. And it wouldn't be in vain, as the light still didn't leave Kylo, despite killing his father.

No more suffering for Leia please. She already suffered enough.

It could be a very powerful moment not for Kylo but also the audiences
Just imagine something like, Leia die while trying to protecting her son life and then before she dying in his arms, she would touch his face like Han did and calling his name,"Ben" . And at her last moment, Leia would look into a void out there and whispered, -"Han" while a slow, sad version of their love theme playing in the background. [face_plain]

I agree drama is needed and I think it will be done with what has happened to her mother. I think it is possible that Luke had to kill her and this creates conflict. ;)

    That's the key!
She still loved him and she died saying that there was still good in him whereas no one could see it.
That's what unconditional love is about. What SW is about. Love and compassion.
Luke was pretty much his mother's boy.
It doesn't necessarly mean that we have to condone crimes and, as a matter of fact, in Mustafar Padme said to Anakin: "you're going down a path I cannot follow". She wouldn't have followed him!
What I am saying is that no one here expects Rey to fall in love with Kylo Ren.
We see a possibility that she could fall in love with Ben Solo, once he's steered away from the dark side.
And I'm sure writers are planning for him some bold action to destroy FO, Snoke and all the evil guys and perhaps he'll continue to build a ''new galaxy order", along with his mother, Luke and the good guys. Would that be satisfying? Hell, yes.
So what would be the message left if not that love is the most powerful weapon and that there's chance for redemption for anyone?
I really don't understand how some people could mistake a fairy-tale, a myth, like SW with a mundane episode of Law and Order.

I agree, the film shows that the light is love. Whether it be familial or not the light is love. Which Vader succumbed to at the very end of his life. He loved his son, the physical outcome of himself and Padme. The person he loved all his life.
How can anybody not see that at the end of the FA Ben/Kylo is within a light.
    How can anyone deny that?
Kylo Ren didn't give a **** about Finn, yet at the end he is snarling and vengeful of him. Screaming "TRAITOR"!!!! Why? Because he's broken hearted and doesn't know what to do. He's completely lost

Then at the end, we can see the force ghosts of Broda, Brobi-Wan, and Anakin, joined by Leia and Han (Broda, Brobi-Wan, and Anakin guided his spirit into the netherworld so that he could appear as a ghost, even though he wasn't FS.)
    Break out the kleenexes, people!

Honestly, I'm not having a vision here but what I see is he'll do something very good, but soon after he'll be severly wounded... and the act will be some what unexpected to begin with... Rey will be there to comfort him for a few moments, he'll yell GOOOOO or something after a few words .... and then he'll explode or something.... and Rey will start crying about it , because she's strong but sensitive.... and Leia will start crying... then later there will be words how there was some good still in him and he redeemed himself... End of Kylo... I don't expect him to grow old and gray and start a day care for children.

Should Rey fall in love with Kylo Ren as he was during TFA? No, nor did she.

Might she fall in love with Kylo/Ben once he seeks to redeem himself and atone for his crimes? Maybe.

There's a long way to go between now and the end of Ep IX, with more instalments planned.

We are assuming Rey won't make any mistakes between now and then. Not that she has to be dragged down to Kylo's level, so to speak. But the road to hell is paved with good intentions. She might be tempted by the dark side (she already has been but stopped short of killing Kylo).

I stand by what I said before, there is morality in Star Wars from a certain point of view. No one has yet said who would be responsible for deciding Kylo Ren's fate or meting out justice and punishment. Would Leia be expected to sentence her son to death? She's been responsible for the deaths of thousands of people herself. Yes, she is fighting on the side of right, but not all in the galaxy would see it that way. Star Wars is both futuristic, with space travel and such, and old fashioned, in that many of the planets we see depicted seem to operate like Wild West territories. Without the New Republic or other bodies like the Jedi policing the galaxy, I'm not sure who Kylo/Ben would be expected to answer to. Even if he is redeemed by turning his back on the First Order and killing Snoke etc, that wouldn't be the end of it for any of them. There are plans for these movies indefinitely, so some other big bad will inevitably emerge that they will have to defeat. That's the way of things in Star Wars world.

I don't know but while reading this, I immediately think of how Jonathan Morganstern/ Sebastian Varlec died in the Mortal Instruments series. He is the main antagonist of the series but not by choice though, he was made into a monster by his own father. And the last sentence he said was, "I’ve never felt so . . . light,” he said softly, and then he smiled, and closed his eyes, and died.
Also Darth Vader died after his redemption so are there any chances that this is the same fate for Kylo Ren? That death may be his only release

Hello everyone, I've been lurking on this site for a minute now and I thought to myself "Just make an account bro" So I did. Just wanted to say for a while I was skeptical of Reylo, but a lot of you beautiful people have swayed my my opinion. I am now a reylo trash fanboy, and I can't help myself. But anyways, just wanted to say I love this thread! Hopefully I'll be joining in on some of the conversations :)

It'll be extremely emotional if we can have the scene where Kylo risks his life and saves Rey like Starlord saves Gamora

    (bridal carry, again [face_laugh] )

or Luke, Leia, Kylo, Rey - 4 powerful force-sensitive/ old generation and new generation of Star Wars are hand in hand together and defeat Snoke.

It sort of makes sense really... especially if Rey is still the stronger of the two. He could risk his life for Rey because Rey is the only real hope for the light side. "I feel the pull towards the light." Maybe he won't go light , and be the savior himself, but he will go to the light recognizing that she is the savior, and sacrifice himself for her.

If, as I hope, Kylo Ren is "Anakin done right" then it will avoid what I found so troubling about Oadme's reactions to Anakin and his turn to the Sith. It's crystalized in her response to Anakin confessing to genocide of the Tusken villagers. Due to the poor script, Padme only response is to rationalize Anakin's behavior, instead of what he did.

At this point I cannot imagine Rey dealing with Kylo Ren with sympathy and understanding for his suffering.
Anakin and Padme remi d me of a comment I read once about DS9's Captsin Sisko "it never fails to amaze me, the poor choices made for this character."

He's like that one teacher you have a crush on on secondary (high school) and you do nothing but get bad grades on purpose so he'll hold you back in his class after 4 as punishment. Then you stare at him and annoy him on purpose dropping pencils so he'll give you detention another day too.

And then your voice goes and you start talking backwards like Yoda on helium because your so in love with this teacher. Sigh
