I hate Rian Johnson's cryptic tweets. I'm not even going to guess what the heck that picture is, if it's anything at all haha but Adam Driver's nervous/awkward interviews make up for it. Thanks Adam, you're a bro [face_peace]

OMGG! THAT WAS SO SICK!! I was like, screaming lolll. I am dying for something like that, esp with Kylo and Rey. UGH

Also, I looked the movie up, it's called Letter Never Sent? I'm loving your idea. That with the incredible lightsaber battles, omg, episode 8 could actually be one of the most amazing movies ever created.

Who made that video btw? Is the ORC something sepearate from Disney...? is this from an old video game?

About the idea that Luke might have Obi 1 lightsaber while back, this is just speculation but maybe after ROTJ, Luke return to Tatooine once more and this time he gathered all the belonging of Old Ben and kept it as memorial for Obi 1, maybe Luke also got his hand on Obi 1 lightsaber, somehow and he intended to give it to Ben because he was named after a great teacher and a father figure to Luke (also because Maz hide the fact that she's owning Anakin's lightsaber till TFA so Luke may not know about that and since Obi 1 is family, it's not wrong if he want his nephew to have Obi 1's lightsaber instead)
And the cloak we saw Luke wearing in TFA and SW VIII maybe Obi's old cloak or something Luke made from Obi's
And in the vision, if it is indeed Obi 1's lightsaber then it mean Kylo is have it in his collection and may uses it in the next movie while Rey using Anakin's lightsaber. Talking about ironically

Oh,does that meant in Star Wars VIII, there will be some references to the Old Republic???
I want to hear Kylo rambling about his grandfather or some Dark Lord while being struck with Rey, alone somewhere and have nothing to do, he can be all like,-"So yeah, I really adored my grandfather, Darth Vader but I made my mask based upon Darth Revan because it'd be cooler" And Rey could be like [face_plain] face

It was just a dream he had. He said he woke up from what felt like an epic dream that was going to make Star Wars amazing, but when he started to storyboard it, he realized it was just a dream about a dog fighting with a lightsaber in a boat. ;)

I know, wasn't it great? It was the creators of the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic http://www.swtor.com/! I've played it a bit - It's not a new game but it's a free and fun game (when played on high graphics). You can choose amongst so many different types and colors of light sabers and be a Sith or Jedi.

Thanks for the correction regarding the movie name "Letter Never Sent". Episode 8 is definitely going to be Epic. The reigns are cut, JJ did his job of bridging the gap. Now it's time to let the creativity flow :).

Jane Espenson, one of the main Once Upon a Time writers, also worked on Buffy, and from what I understand, she adored the character of Spike. I feel like she's been trying to recreate him for years. Spike was a masterpiece. Obviously plagiarizing his character arc isn't that easy because Espenson definitely hasn't achieved her desired outcome. Sloppy writing will never succeed in reconstructing the paragon of redemption that is Spike. No offence to any big OUAT fans, but that show, and its characters, are pretty inconsistently written in general. I almost get the impression that its writers are somehow unable to communicate with one another because they don't seem to know what the heck is going on most of the time.

Rumple's story is a great example of an incompetently written redemption arc. When a character goes through a long redemptive process and emerges changed for the better, he or she should stay that way. That's how good writing works. Luckily, the ST isn't going to be nearly as drawn out as a television series. Every character is going to go through one personal developmental arc. I'm so looking forward to it.

Well, I'm trying to remember which character it was in the EU that did something similar. But it apparently wasn't fun. There were times that they did it without realizing what they were doing and wound up causing massive issues with friends and family. I think for Ben it would have been really bad if he wasn't interested in going the way of the Jedi and instead wanted to be like his mom and help bring peace that way. If he was around the senators, and given the way he describes the republic it seems he was, he has a high dislike of them, then my guess was that he probably heard things about his mom, his dad, and probably himself from them. He probably also heard or felt things going on when Han and Leia fought.

What makes this so much worse is what's happening in what Snoke is really saying here verses what we see on the page. So what we're seeing her used by Snoke is a dash. In grammer this can be used for a lot of things but in this case it's being used to " Dashes Used to Set Off Words or Phrases After an Independent Clause."

Why is this important? Well when reading a dash in this context it becomes a sort of pause, a beat. For Snoke to be using that the tone of voice is very very different.

"I have never had a student with such promise (pause) before you." -if he were to say it as "with such promise before you" it takes on different meaning in tone. The latter first indicates that the person is saying that they've never had a student with such promise before the student they have now, indicating that while the other students were good, this one shows a great deal of abilities.
However the former has two meanings:

The first part of it indicates a shift in tone. They are indicating that the person they are special because others that came before them were not good enough, or at least were not what the person speaking wanted. The second half becomes very creepy. The pause there indicates that they are purposely indicating that the person they are speaking too is unique in some way, almost as if they are building up something for the sake of use. That line very much reminds me of a playboy type that is flirting with a rural girl that just came into the city for the first time.

"I've never seen a girl quiet as pretty or smart -before you."

The line Snoke says to Ben makes him straighten, gives him confidence, what makes it so much worse is that when he does that it's the same sort of reaction you would have with the country girl and the playboy type where she giggles and is more assured in her flirting with him. Ben goes on to compliment Snoke's teaching, addressing him in a higher way.

After Ben compliments snoke he "objects" to it, saying that it's not his teaching that causes Ben to be like this it's Ben's own perfection. Again it falls into that same issue of Play boy and country girl. Ben just said to Snoke "Hey it's because you taught me." and Snoke's like "no it's because you're already so far great. I just have great materials to work with, I'm not artist.

It's the I have -you line that worries me. There are two ways that that line goes. Either he's pulling the whole.

"They can have all the riches in the world baby, but I've got -you." This indicates that the person is flirting with the country gal to push up the idea of how special and unique she is. The same way Snoke is doing to Ben.

However, the tone of voice could also indicate that the You could be seen as a sarcastic sort of way. As if to say, "you're actually not that great, and you're all I have to work with."

That line can go either way and in both cases it at least indicates that Snoke is trying to build up Ben with a whole lot of hogwash here.

With the mention of the first Jedi Temple on Luke's Island, I'm hoping that the SW movies going forward will delve into the Old Republic material and ancient lore. They may even make a spin-off movie of that era.
lol @ Kylo's small talk about his hobbies and sense of style!

I wouldn't mind a Good Mr. Gold, just bring in one of the baddies that you have in the Public domain. You can do a whole host of bad guys from Dracula to Professor Moriarty, to someone like Scrooge. I swear since this Black Swan stuff they've lost direction. Not only that but, man can't think of his name the actor that plays Mr. Gold, Robert...something. Anyway he's mentioned that he wasn't thrilled with the killing off of Neal because it took away one of the key factors in what makes Gold, Gold, his need to be with his son and to fix things he screwed up with him.

Gold is not Spike, please let sleeping Vampires lie.

They did a good job with Spike, but I wouldn't call him a masterpiece. They had to shoehorn him into the love interest position after Angel got his own show, and the premise for him getting a soul kind of retconned established lore (not to mention a few of his actions). But, for working off that, they did a solid job. I'm glad Buffy explored the premise of real redemption, rather than just redemption by death. Personally, I don't see Kylo Ren and Spike having similar redemption arcs or personalities, but I can see having the blueprint of a redeemed-and-live-to-tell villain. That was important to future stories like OUAT and hopefully, TFA.

Interesting Pablo Twitter conversation right now that's relevant to our interests. The compassion conversation (about Rey) from the novelisation was scripted and filmed, so it wasn't some wild fancy of Alan Dean Foster's. Pablo explains that the Kylo/Snoke scenes were changed quite substantially in pickups and with voicover.

Is this photo real? Was it cut from the film? Where was it placed? Most intriguing...

Honestly, at this point, if Rey is not a Kenobi, I'd be pretty disappointed. There's no other possibility that is as pleasing to me. She's gotta be Brobi-Wan's granddaughter.

Oh, I don't think Kylo Ren and Spike are particularly similar. Kylo is a lost, abused, conflicted child trapped behind the mask of a monster and the shadow of his grandfather's Dark legacy. Spike is a virile, witty, fool for love.

Very off topic, but I wouldn't say Spike was "shoehorned" into the love interest position at all. He fell into it naturally. Spike was originally supposed to die in season 2. He was only brought back into the show as a comical replacement for Cordelia (a role that wound up being filled predominantly by Anya). Riley was certainly Angel's intended replacement in the love interest department. Spike's character evolved slowly. He went from impotent monster to obsessive stalker to unhealthy companion to ensouled hero all over the span of four seasons. I stand by what I said. As far as redemptive characters go, I consider Spike to be a masterpiece.

I get the sense that you might be a Buffy and Angel supporter. :p Not that there's anything wrong with that. It just goes to show that not all Reylo shippers are likeminded. We're all individuals, and that's a beautiful thing. ^^
