ST The Romantic Future of Kylo Ren and Rey

Well of course they can have more before the forehead kiss. I remember how Adam was introduced in Girls, that was certainly more!!

I just think forehead kisses are cute between couples, it's tender affection.

 

They pointed out the beforehand stuff because there was a forehead kiss between Finn and Rey.

- Yes, Kylo from act one is not Kylo from avt 3. In fact, I think they wanted to make him seem brutal and menacing in his first scenes.
- And yes, a beast with Finn. And a peacock as well.

I became a fan of Kylo after this part in a trailer. Definitely not weak. (But he's all mellow in his duel with Rey. No twirls, no fast attacks)

 

My favourite animated Disney film is definitely Brother Bear. That movie absolutely kills me. It's not romantic, but it does feature something of a redemption arc. Kenai literally kills Koda's mom ( like, it's messed up), and yet, they come to realize how much they need each other. Such a brilliantly captured bond. <3 The antis could learn a lesson or two about character development just by watching a simple film like Brother Bear.

Kylo absolutely wrecks Finn. Did anybody else notice that Kylo actually punches him in the face?

 

Forehead kiss vs epic foreshadowing and epic and new scenes between Ren and Rey.

 

Oh yes I noticed that my first viewing! At certain parts in his duel with Finn, he fights him as if they're in a bar brawl.

One interesting thing to note - bar brawls are usually fought over somebody insulting the other or.....over women.

 

Kylo was putting zero effort in with Rey..the last thing he wanted to be doing right there was fighting her, he just wanted it to stop. When he had her near the cliff and she couldnt wriggle away, he knew it was his only chance to pop the question.

He's asking her to just stop and they can work together.

 

Hux is the ultimate peacock though, strutting around the bridge with his hands behind his back... laughed so hard when he walked away from that big window after looking at the sun like a chicken.

Kylo didn't twirl at Rey but he did do a spin (which also looked a bit wild, but that's about it regarding wild slashes with her).
Oh, and I forgot Kylo vs Rey in my opening post. Well, to keep things short - and since I've already written that feminism isn't really my specialty - I think it needed to happen. Up until the interrogation scene Rey was terrified of Kylo. Now that she has defeated him I expect she's going to meet him head-on next time, which is kinda better to watch than her just running away in fear. Of course, it could prove her undoing to think she'd stand a chance against a somewhat-mentally-stable-Kylo.

What IS your opinion on the mind brobe scene between Ren and Rey...I am interested to know if there are any men here that share strong women's opinions on that particular instance you are her grandfather, after all you must have some thoughts on the subject, right?

The bros in this thread are pretty cool. No need to throw out superlatives here, other than to say that the bros here are some of the best on this site.

Yeah, bar brawl. And in this case it was what? I really think it was the case of "two males fighting for a female": very primitive. Except the female kicked the male's ***, so that was reversed. But I think Kylo was jealous of Finn. It's the first time in the entire movie he shows anger towards another person. He had pleasure torturing Finn. The other deaths were quick and clean, without much emotion. Han's death had regret, which again is different.

Geminiwankenobi I know he wasn't putting effort against, Rey, and that's exactly the point. He isn't even as much fun to watch. For everyone who doesn't understand how come the villain lost for a new force user, well, his duel against Finn is good comparison. Kylo wasn't even putting any real effort against Finn, and he was a beast. Then against Rey, he gave like 10% of what he gave against Finn (when, again, he wasn't even really trying . And I can't get enough of the twirl.

 

A film magazine I read described Hux as 'a sneer given human form'

Well, us Kenobis are crafty. She was able to take some of Kybro's force power during that scene.

 

Force22 Kylo disarmed Finn, than punched him in the face, than slashed his back. Rey kicked Ren in the stomach (wound spot), disarmed him than slashed his face. Cut from the same cloth they are.

 

I'm pretty sure that is what they used given the frequency of random things to look like space objects that the guys at ILM make. Might be designed after that but I'm pretty sure that someone said, "Hey wouldn't a Ax Synth look like a cool sword," and everyone else was like "Yes! let's do this!"

 

I can't wait to see Kylo scene like Anakin in ROTS "you will not take her from me"!!!! But less abusive and Anakin tried to choke Padme peeps

I'm 100% sure that Leia hugging Rey is all to do with Ben and Han. She knows that Rey was with both.

My thoughts exactly...equals....and just how equal is what suprises Ren in that last look he gives her...surprise awe and infatuation...he has met his match

Omg yes, Kylo punching Finn was my absolute battle highlight!
He must have quite a mean right hook considering that the punch made Finn turn around 180° (which gave Kylo the opening to slice him across the back).

Still gotta give Finn some credit. If you pay attention to him during the Han-Kylo-bridge-scene, Finn's face expression changes from scared to aghast to panic from just watching Ren from a distance. I guess his stormtrooper-inherent fear of force sensitive superiors is still a part of him.

edit; Some part of me still wonders why they let Rey only kick Kylo in the stomach when much more sensitive parts just a little lower could have been hurt instead. "Hit the weak points for massive damage"
