Dagobah Dragonsnake I could be wrong but I think all the Knights last name will be Ren. Sort of like how many Sith's first name was Darth?
They are a different group of Darksiders, I don't think they even know how to build Lightsabers. Not even Snoke might know.
I was thinking the same thing. Only, I'm having trouble thinking of good names that roll of the tongue well that end with "Ren". Anyone have any ideas?
I am intrigued by the KOR and I think they will appear in Episode 8. Can't wait to find out about their role within the FO and how Kylo fits into their dynamic.
Since Disney owns Star Wars -- how about Doc Ren, Happy Ren, Sneezy Ren, Bashful Ren, Dopey Ren, Grumpy Ren, and Sleepy Ren? They all roll off the tongue in my view.
I think Kylo will be the lone Knight with a lightsaber. In Rey's Force Vision all the other Ren's weapons look like standard weapons.
Yeah and it might be also pretty hard to get some kyber crystals... Even Kylo could only find a cracked one.
correct. none of the other knights of ren use sabers. kylo built his own to be like vader. this is established.
We don't know yet that any of them besides Kylo are even FS at all. They just might be a band of elite warriors who, while not actual being FS themselves, still worship the ideals of the DD. Also, we don't know what materials are left, so it's possible that making a bunch of lightsabers just isn't feasible at this point.
Here is a scary thought. It's been stated that the FO ship The Finalizer uses Kyber Crystals (the same used in Lightsabers.....and the Death Stars firing Laser) to power it's weapons. The implication is that the FO has access to a source of Kyber crystals that they are using in their most powerful weapons and/or giving to their most elite soldiers....since these crystals power starship turbo lasers...it's possible each of the knights of Ren has one powering a weapon or a piece gear on them...expanding the possibilities of what weapon/gear an FS could use if they didn't want to use a sword.
It's a solid idea and a way to differentiate Jedi from other new Force user groups....would also allow for some creative use of force techniques with new weapons.
To be fair, with that armor, they could just as easily be girls with guns, blades and other weaponry enhance by Kyber crystals.
I like the idea of lightsabers being very hard to weild, to find crystals for, to build. I'd rather have them be more exclusive with force sensitive rather than any random person being able to. Han gets a pass cuz it's Han.
I don't think the Knights just use guns -- a couple of them seem to have some trippy looking weapons. Yes, their number (7) is an allusion to Kurosawa's Seven Samurai and Hollywood's allusion to them, the Magnificent Seven. And if other films have alluded to the seven, that doesn't make this old hat because this is Star Wars. The seven Ren belong here.
Well if the word "master" is to be taken literally then probably Kylo, I'd be very curious to see how the things would play out if it's him.
Nope -- I can only speculate. What we've learned from concept art over the years is that ideas change radically over time. Maybe at first the 7 Light referred to Luke's Jedi, or maybe the Ren took the name as an irony, or maybe they were some other group we haven't met yet or that was cut like the Clan. What's clear at this point is the Knights of Ren are the new darkside/evil assassins that will likely surface in 8 and 9.
Anyone else like the idea that the Knights are effectively promoted soldiers and killers who get Force training from Kylo? Like, Snoke had Kylo find the best 6 FS Warriors he could, perhaps even those who helped him massacre Luke's Jedi, and then he "knighted" them himself? It would provide a nice old school explanation for their ranking and diverse armament; a group of guys/gals who already show enough raw talent and rudimentary skill that their group can challenge Jedi who Luke is carefully training, people who can be plain old fashioned bounty hunters, ex-Stormtroopers, serial killers, and maybe even esoteric philosophers on darkness.
If the KOR were Luke's students and helped kill the Jedi, I can see them twisting the name Light as irony like you mentioned. Or I wonder if they will help Kylo kill Snoke because they're more affiliated with him rather than Snoke which is why they don't hang around the FO? If they obsess about relics and Vader, they would probably revere Kylo with his bloodline. I also wonder if Benecio will be part of the KOR and if the KOR in Rey's Force back was in the future (which I think it is).
I'd rather see him as a KoR. It serves the dual purpose of him being sort of like a bounty hunter but also a bit more, and also more connected to Kylo and Snoke than say a Boba or Jango who are just paid for loyalty.
