A lot of people still love the video game 'The Force Unleashed' and the Starkiller character and its explanation for the formation of the rebel alliance. It's sequel is much less loved. I personally never cared for the game's explanation of events after Revenge of the Sith, but it has its place in a lot of people's head canon. It has become polarizing in that some people want to see it re-canonized while others like that it has been written off.

Being that Star Wars Rebels is telling a story that contradicts the Force Unleashed its very unlikely that the entire thing will be canonized at this point, but some of it could be.

If Disney was to consider re-canonizing the Force Unleashed, would you support that?

I think the powers of the game were just to OP Starkiller pwning Vader the Chosen one with the highest midichlorian count in history just didn't work for me. Its still a fun play, and a cool story, but I never really counted it to be part of canon.

I agree. It was a fun game, but I would have rather it been Jedi Knight 3 instead, focusing on an ambiguous set of characters. The game's story throws into question so much Star Wars lore. The sequel was even more outrageous. It's probably the #1 best example of why Disney jettisoned the EU when they took over the franchise.

The Force Unleashed is probably a holofilm made by a Force worshipper.

They didn't reset the EU because of a game.

Not the game alone, but it is an example of why they had to reset the EU. It presented continuity problems that Disney/Lucasfilm would rather not have to work around. The Force Unleashed in particular threw a lot of curve balls into the lore that was established in both the PT and the OT. It was better for them to jettison the EU entirely rather than pick and choose what should remain canon and what shouldn't.

Impossible to become canon. Rebels have completely filled its gap and told the formation of the rebel alliance differently to TFU; there are countless other examples from Rebels, which makes TFU impossible to ever become canon.

I don't want the story of The Force Unleashed to be canonized but I would not mind seeing Galen Marek canonized in Star Wars Rebels or a novel.

Every piece of EU is the reason for why they reset it. It limited what they can do and work with.

They should put Galen Marek in the Dragon Ball Z universe. That is where he belongs.

A few months ago, I would've answered yes, but after watching Twilight of the Apprentice, I think they could work the story of TFU into Rebels very well, but they would of course have to change some elements.

If they don't even touch TFU in Rebels then yes, it should be canon.

Imo, no. I loved the game, but I hate the idea that Darth Vader is the one who started the Rebel Alliance.

No. I liked the gameplay fine enough, but I wouldn't what the story to be canonized. Nor Galen Marek as I really didn't find him to be that interesting of a character.

I thought Rebels is still in 3 BBY whereas TFU begins in 2 BBY? Plenty of room to say "some of the major cells are still independent - and eventually come together"

Once Season 3 comes out - we'll see how impossible it has made TFU - I doubt very much that they'll recanonize it - but it would be nice to see a reference or two. Have Juno Eclipse appear maybe.

The easiest thing to bring into Rebels from TFU would be PROXY and the Rogue Shadow.

Tweak them a little to make them part of the Inquisitors, and they would work great in Rebels.

While i really don't mind the power of Galen, it wouldn't make sense right now to make the events canon.

There were major elements of the story I wasn't fond of from that game, but Proxy, Juno Eclipse, and Rahm Kota are all characters I wouldn't mind seeing brought into canon elsewhere, although that'd be extremely hard to do without also adding Starkiller. Those sweet Imperial Shadow Guards, though...they could be easily brought back. And if I remember correctly, The Clone Wars was going to make that version of the Felucians canon at least.
