Funbox, why have you posted the same thing in multiple threads? its not a good idea to do that... but here's something I said in another thread, which would probably be better off here, that address something your post raises...

    - I really don't understand some people not wanting new aliens and just want to see the same set of aliens over and over... one it shrinks the galaxy which is not a good thing, its suppose to be a galaxy full of life, thousands of species not a dozen or so... and second all the other films always introduced new aliens, GL never shrunk down the galaxy he would always add to it with each movie and always added new aliens... since the re-start they have rightly been doing the same thing, new alien in TFA and new aliens in R1, and lets hope new aliens in ep8... If the movies just show stuff from the lore and canon then Star Wars will die a quick death creatively and lose peoples interest, it will be bogged down in swimming around its current pool of water rather than expanding it to have even more pool to swim around in.... if that makes sense.. -

LOL. It doesn't look like it to me.
Lt. Hija has a good point with the uniform, they are very similar, but the logo has curvey elements not in the imperial symbol. Maybe they're recycling suits.

It's a speech by Cicero that gets used as placeholder text. They're saying that the description is repeated because it's a placeholder.

You are right that in the close up image the circular patch on the left upper arm is missing two of the otherwise 6 spikes of the Imperial insignia, but other than that all the elements are there. Why these two spikes are missing, covered or else is everybody's guess, for now. ;)

So TFA is a rehash, yet doesn't feel like Star Wars? That's an interesting theory.

Even though I don't necessarily agree with this, it is very easy to imagine a rehash that doesn't feel like Star Wars.

Not for me. If it's a "rehash" then by it's very nature it does feel like the original (imo).

No. You can remake a film line by line and shot by shot and still not strike the same tone as the original.

One thing this film seems to have seriously NAILED is the Imperial designs! They look fantastic!

I thought the only misstep in an otherwise brilliant film was TFA's Stormtrooper and First Order uniform designs...ugh :oops:I would have taken every one of their overly shiny uniforms and thrown them off a bridge, set them on fire and then covered them in dirt! Give them a real "lived in" look

These guys look pretty shiny to me:

I think it's a myth that the OT was free of "shininess." The Empire positively gleamed for much of the OT.

The Star Wars visual aesthetic is more about form, and less about detail. Shiny vs. gritty is a gross oversimplification of the design differences between the OT, PT and TFA.

Yes agreed. The Imperial stuff always had a more shiny, glossy, but also sterile/bland feel. That was kind of the point, or at least part of it. The Empire overly-relied on technology and valued uniformity (and suffered from an astounding lack of creative thinking/imagination in many cases as well), as opposed to the varied and diverse Rebel Alliance, who's equipment, tech, aesthetic was more dirty, makeshift, and "lived-in." Because they were the underdogs as well, and the visuals helped sell that notion.

I think I've been watching too much Stargate SG-1 lately cause I really wouldn't mind seeing a scene near the end of the movie where the Rogue One team splits up into different teams and one team goes for the plans while the other team plants explosives in key positions to blow up the base and Andor's team (the team planting the explosives) is the one who gets left behind and is surronded by troops and Andor (Diego Luna) is like "listen to me we are not going to make it, blow up the base and get the plans to the alliance now! that's an order!" to Jyn.

People tend to sympathize more with people who look worn-out and poor in movies. Which is quite ironic, since in real life those very same people would probably not feel safe around those who look worn-out and poor.

A little update on the book leak. Hitflix pulled their pics, like everyone else, but they also had a LFL/Disney quote
"A lot of the information listed isn't even correct ."
    http://www.hitfix.com/harpy/213-day...ne-cache-of-information-just-hit-the-internet

I thought it was an interesting addition. Obviously the text is largely filler. MSW has said they're still hearing the final name for Luna's character is Willix (which I personally like better, but I seem to be in the minority).

Not that the quote is "a lot of the information listed," not shown. Which may imply that at the least, the images are correct.

I think they're just being generic. We know that some of the information shown is also incorrect. They just recycled the t70s from tfa for example.

I just thought of a really cool potential ending for this movie:

We see Vader aboard the Devastator when an Imperial officer approaches him with news of the Tantive IV heading towards Tatooine. Maybe have Vader pause for a while to let it sink in, since it's his home planet and all, and have the officer try to get his attention before he finally responds with something along the lines of "Good. Set course for Tatooine. We have business to attend to." He walks towards the camera, his figure enveloping the frame and boom! End credits.

So the rank of the Imperial military's head is...'director'? Sounds more like the guy who should be supervizing their equivalent to USO shows. Something like 'Supreme Grand Marshal' would at least have a better ring to it.

I really wish this info leak hadn't happened. There is just so much obviously incorrect information and Disney has said this too, but still all this is being talked as being canon and even being put into wookiepedia as facts. Krennic is an intelligence officer, he doesn't control the whole military. His role is the Imperial equivalent of the US Director of National intelligence. Director of Military Intelligence should be his correct title. Director of Imperial Military is a nonsensical title.

This is a nitpick, but actually,"Director of Military Intelligence" would make him the equivalent of the U.S. Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), not the Director of National Intelligence (who leads the National Intelligence Council, which extends beyond military intelligence and to all intelligence agencies).
