if BF2 is out Fall 2017, it will have been 2 years since Battlefront 2015

Which is about the same amount of time between almost every single Battlefield game release. I'm not surprised at all.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlefield_(series)#Games

I'm not saying it is a good thing, I'm just saying it isn't unexpected from DICE.

I'm so bored with BF 1, I can't imagine a reason to purchase BF 2 unless major changes are made that give it more depth. Such as a campaign mode. Like DICE's other AAA FPS have.

Even new maps every few months do not satiate my need for something more engrossing than just, "pew pew pew!"

Not at all. Right when I queue I get in a game, be it Outer Rim or regular playlists.

Eh, cockpit mode is neither here nor there for me. As it stands, it's not really very fun to get the AT-AT token as all you can do is shoot or drop an orbital strike within a very limited field of view. I can't imagine a view from inside the cockpit would make this any more fun. Just be more constrictive from a sight perspective. It amazes me that I've seen players camp that token for whole rounds. I get that they want massive kills and few deaths. But it's just a very boring way to play the game imho.

I'm sure a lot of people will be happy with the HvV fix, if they actually nail it this time. Although haven't they claimed it would be fixed a few times already? If they do manage to fix it at least people may stop bailing out of Outer Rim as soon as HvV comes up in the dreadful rotation.

Only if you allow the game to choose your map for you (can't do that in Outer Rim, though you can choose mode). But make an attempt to choose a map and you will sit there waiting, forever in some cases.

I think I've driven the AT-ATs only a couple of times so far. I'll agree it's not all that fun; better when you're a Stormtrooper on Endor and could ride on its back.

By 2017 EA will probably want you to pay $200 for the full game.

I think people really over exaggerate DICE and how they made the game. At least they admitted their mistakes, said why there wasn't a campaign, they weren't happy with the mixed reviews. And they've been making up for it by knocking it out of the park with their content. Outer Rim alone was worth the price for the season pass. And the free content we got. Not to mention the feedback they've put into the game from fans like weapon balancing. I think with Battlefront 2 they'll learn from their mistake and make an amazing game. Heck, I think this Battlefront is amazing, 340 hours from me and counting!

Like it or not video games these days live on DLC and season passes, it's just how gaming has evolved with this generation. Gone are the days of BF1&2. Kinda sad, but things evolve, for better or for worse. Might as well stop whining about season passes. It's been years and still they're made, because they sell. It's only the loud minority here. And it's not as if you're being forced into buying the season pass. Buy whatever expansion you want.

Outer Rim broke the game and they still haven't fixed it! HvH is still broken. Their hot fixes have not solved all issues, from 1 new item continuously displaying, to the Hutt Contact recap screen still not going away, the summary screen still not displaying all data, to in game issues with invincibility. about the only thing they did fix was jump packing with your shield up. yay! Lol...

If it were only a loud minority complaining here the games rating would be higher, but it's not. Face facts, not all people are not happy with the game, the way the season pass and DLC has been handled, or the support. Go right on over to the official forum and see for yourself that the complaints here echo a much larger group of people's complaints there. You're living in a dream world if you deny that.

There is this line of major BS that all people who are not happy with the way the DLC was handled can be explained away by people who just don't understand how DLC works. And on that I call major BS. I have purchased DLC both al la carte, and season pass's for quite a few games. This has by far been my worst experience on multiple levels. The communication factor, the bugs, the forced rotation of modes. This execution has taken the cake so far as terrible goes.

No amount of apologist rhetoric will change facts.

But your major issue was that you purchased the season pass on Day 1; before any reviews about the game or its future content would be released. I'd imagine if you had waited, and read those reviews on the forums you mentioned above, you wouldn't have purchased it to begin with.

You are correct in that. But it has nothing to do with the fact that whether I was playing the game or not, those who are displeased with a plethora of issues regarding BF are not even close to being a loud minority. Nor does it negate the fact that many things have been broken for months and months. In fact there has been talk recently that HvV will in fact not be fixed prior to the Bespin DLC, so that's at least another month of broken HvH. Which mind you has been broken since Outer Rim dropped, so a total of 3 broken months! Any one who thinks that is acceptable is seriously a boot licker.

The only thing I'd bring up is that I can't imagine the HvH mode is nearly as popular as some of the other modes like Walker Assault and Supremacy. Yes, I get that doesn't excuse the issues; but I don't think it's such an overwhelming issuing among most players that enough people would reconsider buying the sequel.

I don't love the mode personally. But where it being broken has a big effect is in the Outer Rim DLC.

During the last patch, they did a good thing with the forced rotation by making it two rounds of Extraction, then one round of the other 8v8 modes, then two rounds Extraction again, etc. But when HvV comes up, everyone just quits because it's not working properly. This has been going on for months now!

Well I can't really say much about the Outer Rim DLC. The only time I've played it was during the free weekend not too long ago. The only time I play HvH is when a daily challenge comes along which calls for killing a hero.

I'm not a fan of the mode either, and rarely play it in the base game. But if you're playing Outer Rim and have to deal with the mode rotation, you don't have much choice other than to back out of the game, and start again if the mode comes up. So I'd rather just play though the round of the mode and deal. The fact that broken HvV makes people quit really screws things up.

While I truly don't enjoy the forced rotation (completely different conversation), it has been better since the fix that made it two rounds of Extraction, then one round of another mode, then back to two rounds of Extraction, etc. If you're playing and get into a groove, then all of a sudden HvV is the next round and 5 out of 8 people on your team quit (which is common due to it being broken) you are then playing a really unbalanced match. Unfortunately it does not always fully compensate and now your team is down players, the balance is off, the mode is broken, and it's a mess. Really messes up the flow.

I assume it's random the mode that is chosen after the two rounds of Extraction. It's not always HvV.

Correct. It could be Droid Run, HvV, whatever. Point is most people will just play though to get back to Extraction. Except when HvV comes up, then no less than 50% of people just bailout, go back to the main menu and Start over. Which leaves you with an underpopulated game if you attempt to play though. You may have 3 people on one team and 6 on the other depending on how many bail.

It's frustrating in an already frustrating scenario where you don't get to choose your mode, your map, anything.

Which is why I get a bit miffed when people pretend that there's no problems, everything is fine with the game, and it's just a loud minority that aren't happy and make a lot of noise about it.

There are bugs in the base game, bugs in the DLC, patches that have failed to address some long running issues, patches that have caused more issues in both the base and DLC.

Someone the other day in a thread where you were asked to describe the game in one word said this:

    "verschlimmbesserung

It's a German word meaning: an improvement that actually makes things worse. Every patch is bittersweet, where one thing is added but two things are broken or left unfixed."

It really was the best description of how things have been for months.

I don't really get the forced rotation anyway. My assumption is that most people who want to play the Outer Rim DLC would prefer Extraction mode. If it was about any of the other modes, there's plenty of maps for the users to choose.

You can always put me on ignore?

Same goes for you. If you find no value in my opinion, put me on ignore.

Fact is, some people DO find value in what I have to say, and have similar experiences with this game.

So rather than attempt to stifle me because you don't like the message, ignore me. Or is it you that likes torture? Lol...
