He inadvertently touched on a obvious aspect. It was in danger of becoming the Ahsoka show because she is fundamentally a more interesting character than Ezra and Kanan (better than Ezra but that's not saying much) and her finding and encountering Vader was always go to be more compelling story wise

That sounds aweomse! If that's true then we have nothing to fear of Rebels ever being cancelled before its finished like The Clone Wars was.

That's excellent news. I hate when TV shows have to be restricted to whether or not they'll get another season. That's no way to tell a story, a good one at least.

Given that season 3 is said to end on a cliffhanger, yes.

To retouch upon the space Aladin stuff, I got an strange impression that The Bendu is the Gigantopithecus King Louie, Ezra is Mowgli , Maul is Bagheera, Darth Vader is Shere Khan while Ahsoka is Raksha. Maybe Kanan was Akela. ;)

Disney's Kaa in the film was more the Sith Temple Presence, a treacherous enchantress offering knowledge . Kipling's Kaa was very much different, and yes another mentor figure for Mowgli.

Maul was Ezra's Virgil while Ezra played the part of Dante. Maul is Ezra's guide through Hades. He represented reason and wisdom, making him the perfect guide. As the journey progressed so did his treatment of Dante. It changed depending of the situation along with his body posture and voice. Maul like Virgil, was very protective . Maul reprimands Ezra as Virgil would Dante for his sympathy, pity and hesitation. Always reminding Ezra that these Inquisitors and the enemy in general are like the damned souls and they are meant to be punished, and that their punishment is the design of a larger plan dictated by God or in SW the Force. If he succeeds in hardening Ezra like Virgil did Dante's heart. Then Vader and/or Sidious would play the part of Lucifer in the big showdown down the road. Unless they take another direction.

    Thanks. This is great!

Edit: Nevermind it's Kanan. Wonder if that's the scene with the green force stuff?

You mean the other guy who falls down? That's Kanan.

And looks like it's a walker that knocks them over.

Yeah, seems like the same episode with the nightsisters magic thing. Doesn't the first shot remind anyone of Geonosis?

It looks like a battle droid, from the basic outline.

Henry Gilroy basically confirms Twilight of the Apprentice was the title because Maul was originally supposed to die.

    [IMG] The Star Wars Report@StarWarsReport
Twilight of the Apprentice was named that because Maul died in the original draft of Henry Gilroy's script.

We've had loads of deaths. Chopper alone must have killed a thousand Stormtroopers and other Imperial personnel by now. We've also had all four Inquisitors die, Tua, Aresko and Grint, loads of A-wing pilots and other Rebel personnel aboard corvettes, Ezra's parents, those Mining Guild workers, and you can be sure we're going to get plenty more in Season 3.

Meanwhile none of the main heroes have died yet in the not so dark times.

They have had frakin Vader after them and several Inquisitors....but that is no match for the plot armor of our heroes.

Look Dave Filoni had two of the four main characters in TCW survive that most people thought would die.

And in TCW the biggest death was either Fives or Satine. so just be patient

"Dark Times" was/is defined in Star Wars as a period of galactic oppression - not homicidal rampage. Rebels is quite clear on what the dark times are and how the Empire behaves.
