I figure with the Thrawn stuff we might actually go to Courscant this season.

Hm... i'm not so sure, i don't think they have the budget for such huge large locales. Judging from the previous seasons.

Surely they can just reuse the existing TCW Coruscant sets? Repainted in te Rebels style, of course. It's the same company so they should be able to use whatever they want from TCW. They can also be creative with their camera placement to make small sets appear larger and get more use out of them.

As much as I love how much better the animation is in the first episode of season three, I really doubt we will see something on the scale of Coruscant. It is too massive and complex for "Rebels" at this point. Do not lose hope! I will not compare "Rebels" to "The Clone Wars" since that is throwned upon, but I will say that the Disney's animated show is getting more and more complex so we might see more populated planets in the future. I think Mandalore and Coruscant are not going to be shown this season, but I could be wrong. "Rebels" AND "The Clone Wars" have proven me wrong before in terms of what can and can not be done. But "Rebels" versions of simpler "The Clone Wars" locations are already happpening with Ryloth being present in the trailers and one of the clips. Dathomir is also slated to appear in season three and I am curious how the Lucasfilm animation crew will pull that planet off since it has fogs and pools of water. Now, the planet is mostly dead and I bet the episodes will be mainly just be about Maul, Kanan and Ezra. No new character models will ease the budget for the Dathomir episodes. It is all up to the budget and how much the Lucasfilm crew can get away with.

Hmmm ... That lets pop up an idea within me that they choose to make a series about Rebels at all because rebels as such do prefer remote and scarcely populated areas as hideout and target of attack, so that Disney can save some money at the start. And when our Rebels turn out to be successful, then everything else and more densely populated might become possible. :)

Yeah Dxun was not in Onderon art- it may still be canon though.

I think that Takodana could be interesting since Maz Kanata kinda makes sense in this period as well- if they still use stuff from TFA that is. Malastare, Teth, Christophsis, Umbara etc. returning from the Clone Wars would be interesting as well- and Felucia always- I like that planet.

I would like to see Munto Codru, preferable similar to how my image of it as world whose designee is influenced by romanticized/fairytale medieval Europe: movies like Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast; comics like Prince Valiant and the art by painters like Ivan Bilibin, Gustaf Tenggren, and most of the visual adaptations of Tolkien’s Rivendell and Gondor.

Even if it would not look like that I would still like to see it.

Also Corellia as something completely different from what the old EU imagined

Maybe Nar Shaddaa, Taris, Dantooine, Wayland, Carida, Moraband, Kuat and Bast Castle (or a similar place).

I know. I like the idea. Count Dooku and Grievous had their own places to be. It don't have to be Bast Castle exactly, but even Vjun is canon (the planet were Bast Castle was build). But I guess we won't see Vader in Rebels again for a long time.

Maybe they could use the old desgin from Ralph McQuarrie for Vader's Castle.

Not really a planet, but something like Outland Station from Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. I just like the idea of a space station on the Outer Rim, filled with shady characters and gangsters. It could be really neat in the Imperial era, outside of the Empire's control, possibly a hospitable area to Rebels. Also, while I'm thinking of Bounty Hunter, Oovo IV would be cool. Though breaking into prisons doesn't seem to be much of a problem for the Ghost crew.

The Wheel as seen in the Freemaker Adventures fills a pretty similar role to Outland Station, even having illegal racing similar to Outland having illegal beast fighting, and it's always possible they could import certain elements from the LEGO canon.
