I'm interested in knowing more about OT actors, especially ones that are dead. Here are some that I know of, not including stars like Cusiny and Guinness.

I'm really curious when Anthony Lang aka Sim Aloo was born. I know he died in 1992, so probably early 1900s. What other old OT actors is there info on?

...stunt performer/swordmaster Bob Anderson, who died on this date in 2012.

 

I'm just curious, Purvis wasn't going to return for The Phantom Menace, was he? He was in all three originals and died around the time Episode I was filming. Do you know if Lucasfilm wanted him to have a cameo, like as a small creature or something in TPM?

 

Several years before he died, he was badly injured in a car accident and was a quadriplegic. I seriously doubt any sort of appearance was possible.

I don't know if anyone involved in Star Wars died on this date, but it's nice to remember those we've lost either way.

Mark Dodson, the voice of Salacious B Crumb has passed away. He was 64.

Michael Culver, who played Captain Needa in ESB, has died at age 85.
RIP.

 

I respected Captain Needa more than any other Imperial. He had the guts to man up and protect his crew when things went wrong, even though it wasn't his fault. Good man on the wrong side.

He made the mistake of apologising when he should've been promising to do better. Vader may've let him live. He was no coward.
