Rogue One The Deleted/Missing Scenes Thread!

So, what scenes did you notice from trailers, magazines, pictures etc that didn't make the cut??

Unless I am wrong, two come to mind straight off the bat...

1 - Krennic walking on Scarif with his white cape dragging in the water (my favourite scene from any of the trailers - What a bummer)

2 - The x-wing pilot prisoners being walked through the streets of Jedha by the stormtroopers.

Any you guys noticed??

 

I was much looking forward to the running towards the AT-ATs on the ground on Scarif sequence that's been in pretty much every trailer since the teaser.

I'm also missing the "I Rebel" line, particularly since I was wearing that one my T-shirt for the premiere viewing!

 

The deleted scenes on the blu ray should be good.

 

- Power is immeasurable.
- Vader charging out of the tank room with the mist behind him in the trailer. In the movie he walks towards Krennic in a hangar.

 

Oh yeah - That shot was fantastic! Jyn and Cassian were in that... Looked like Jyn actually had the tapes in her hand if I am correct.

Another couple I just thought of - Vader in front of the red screen (end of trailer 2) and the tie fighter confronting Jyn on top of that tower was absent also.

 

It's like the whole end fight was changed. Jyn, Cassian and Bodhi were all supposed to be battling, they were filming in a trench.

 

It felt to me as if almost 50% of scenes featured in the preview material did not make it into the film, but I think there were many good reasons for that - and it suggests that the reshoots did serve a constructive purpose. Great film, I enjoyed every single minute of it, and the (troubled) characters really grew on me during the run of the film.

 

In the teaser there was a scene with the two main characters and K2S0 running in a corridor with the Death Star plans.

 

We've been discussing this on another thread somewhere, but it looks like a lot of the end Scariff battle was changed. Jyn, Cassian and K2 running through the installation (Canary Wharf set) with the plans in her hand, then running on the beach towards the AT-ACTs with the plans. Them fighting on the beach too.

No confrontation with a TIE on the platform.

Vader on the Death Star.

I thought Vaders entrance scene coming towards Krennic was the same as featured in the trailer?

 

Almost everyline in the teaser was different from the film, including the whole 'we intercepted transmission about an imminent weapons test" etc etc etc.. Jyn also was asked for her name, rank and number .. sooo .. I think that they reshot her whole backstory to have her interact with Galen.

 

Was the "If my father built this we must find him" in the movie? I do not recall seeing it.

 

K2SO's line "the captain says you are a friend - I will not kill you."

Saw's speech about Imperial flags being everywhere was missing - or recorded just for the trailer.

The background of Vader's entrance was different I think. Guess they didn't want to spoil Vader's castle

 

I think it actually was in the movie.. to which Jyn replies that it doesn't bother her as long as she doesn't look up..

 

Yes it was in there, but it sounded like a different take or a slightly different line to me.

 

Running towards AT-ACT:s were missing. It was like in every trailer. Krennic and Vader on Death Star with power is immeasurable line- X-wing pilots on Jedha- Tie fighter against Jyn- damn so many of my favorite shots from trailers were actually deleted. Not that movie would have been bad but still expecting to see those scenes and not seeing them was bit disappointing.

 

I think this one wasn't mentioned yet. The statue was in the film, but not this shot/take.

 

Seriously though, it feels like there was a missing kiss scene between Jyn and Cassian. Right as they are about to kiss in the elevator, it cuts to another scene.

 

It is implied.... works better in my point of view.

 

Well I thought it was a bit anticlimactic. A buildup to nothing.

 

"You destroyed our home!" *pew pew pew!*

 

There was no "What will you do if they catch you..." from Saw.

 

For me it was clear the objective of the reshoots !

It seems that in the original version Jyn was much more arrogant.

I remember in the trailer "This is a rebellion, isn't it? Then I Rebel"

This was cut from the movie. The delivery of that line was so poor that I am glad it was removed.

 

Where are they going? At the Citadel Tower? If so, where were the plans initially?
