Full Series Star Wars Rebels Season 3 Discussion (Spoilers Allowed)

I don't think they kill Ezra, he's the main hero of the show. But I am not so sure about Zeb...

I chalk him being still in his orange clothing for budget reasons.

Yes the show still has a ways to go to match the quality of later TCW, but it is true this show has gotten a bit darker then season 1. I do think this show can show Ezra being killed while not reaching the level of darkness TCW stood on.

Some might say Zeb should die instead, but his death wouldn't have as much impact as Ezra's.

 

My God that trailer was awesome. Besides the obvious awesomeness like the Mandalorians, Obi-Wan v Maul part 2, Thrawn, Death Troopers; I think I say Yularen with those Stormtroopers that had the pauldrons.

 

But that's OK. I was really scared that they will kill her somewhere in the middle of the series (she's mother figure, Disney doesn't like mothers ).

Explanation to the reference: This isn't the first time we've seen Sam Witwer fight Old Ben (Starkiller vs Obi-Wan in TFU). Seems like it was also a joke (Saw what happened last time Sam Witwer fought Old Ben ?)

Another thing I found interesting is that Konstantine is still an Admiral.
After his last failure I expected Thrawn to demote him.

Gutted that JAT isn't voicing Obi-Wan though, as he deserves to be able to finish his character's animated story.

Those Stormies around Yularen seem to have an emblem on their pauldrons? Can anyone confirm? Don't know if that variant has shown up before.

 

Is it officially confirmed main characters will die? Because I doubt Disney would allow that.

Disney kills main characters in their movies all the time. And Lucasfilm makes the calls along with Filoni, Disney doesn't.

 

They could probably kill Maul though. Due to the plot reasons ;

• Ben can't trust Maul to keep Tatooine in secret and he can't let Maul go either, so he has to kill him.
• Ben can't die, or he is not going to lose to Maul because of the plot.

Or, would Maul keep Tatoine in secret just as he is doing the same for Attolon ?
In a different scenario, Maul can threaten Kenobi with revealing his presence to the Empire, he already did the same thing to Kanan and Ezra ;

There is no reason for Maul to not do the same in Tatooine, so it means that Ben Kenobi, even if he defeats him, can't kill him. Or, Kanan and Ezra will show up and deactivates the beacon device and then they can finally take down Maul together.
It would be epic to see another 2 v 1 duel, with Kanan + Ben vs. Maul, with Kanan dying and Ben cheap-shots him in the end just like he did in TPM, or in a different scenario Ezra joins to Maul in the end when Maul loses to Kanan and Ben Kenobi, Ezra wouldn't let his friend die, but that's very unlikely considering the fact that Ezra doesn't believe in Maul anymore after the Malachor events.

 

She has so much plot armor - her character would have died a dozen times by this point if Gareth Edwards was directing. Also, she just happens to get the Darksaber, now she's wielding a legit lightsaber?

The thing that irritates me the most about her character is her look. Pink, grafittied Mandalorian armor? Really? That combined with the hair die is just too much.

I'm sorry, I don't have a problem with you if you like her, but she takes me out of the world, and her stories writer her as a Mary Sue.

When I say I'm a fan of TFU, I mean the novels. I love the games, but as far as I'm concerned they are just imaginative re-tellings of the novels because the novels portray things more realistically. My main reason I love TFU though is due to the incredibly imaginative story - it is fitting for Sidious to be the architect of his own destruction.

I think having a Mandalorian who sprays graffiti and manages to hop through every spec of danger she gets herself into is canon-breaking.

Also, guys - PLEASE PLEASE don't misunderstand me. I'm not attacking anyone personally! If you like Sabine, good for you! I wish I did. But I don't, and I think discussing that is fair game.

I actually have done a 180 turnaround on Rebels - used to hate it but over the past 2 seasons I have grown to like it! Just not a fan of Sabine is all.

 

I love the designs of the Death Troopers.

StarWarsFan91 I personally prefer that either Kanan or Kallus be killed off this season. Actually I think killing off Kallus would be a lot more dramatic than killing off Kanan or Ezra.

DementedMeerkat While I think JAT is a great voice actor* maybe he couldn't pull off a proper Alec Guinness impression. So they chose Stanton instead. Plus Stanton has previous experience impersonating Alec so yeah.

*Although I think JAT's voice acting as the main character in that terrible Johnny Test cartoon was awful. To be fair though that may have been the fault of the voice director rather than JAT himself.

 

Although I'm not sure how to feel about possibility of Sabine becoming Mand'alor she uniting at least some part of mando warriors would bring the chances to make mandalorians and stuff related to them play bigger role in later stories/series or even movie, because aside from 1 min of screentime of Boba Fett in OT and slightly more of Jango in movies and Boba in TCW we have nothing (that is canonic atm). After watching only the 5 movies (way before RotS came out) I had no idea about mandalorians because they didn't play any role until TCW episodes with them, and it's a waste because they are awesome and could bring some interesting fights other than basic saber duels.
If they will play it right I have nothing against Mand'alor the Uniter Painter, but I have some worries that if they will do it they might not do it justice.
Remember how Ezra wen't from street rat on his own stealing and worrying only about himself to selfless guy who would risk everything for the crew between the time of first and second episode of season first, wasting possible real good character development and a lot of good chances for interesting moral dilemmas and depth? Yeah, if rushed it would be really bad.
Though I don't understand people matching Padme's age and Sabine age for the sake of argument if she's "too young or not". If you are born into royalty you are royalty as soon as others who have rights (and higher priority) to the throne will die you can become king/queen really soon(be it real life or fantasy/sci-fi) but if the king/queen is like 7 the advisors would be the ones practically ruling the country. This is however different if you want to become dictator of bloodthirsty people who believe in strength and want to be ruled by the best warrior (aka Mand'alor).

 

Sure but Rebels has a more child friendly tone than the movies, that's why I doubt it.

 

Yeah in regards to James Arnold Taylor not being Alec Guiness Obi-Wan he's admitted that he's good at Ewan McGregor Obi-Wan but doing the Alec Guiness version isn't his strong suit. More often that not it turns into him doing Ringo Starr. At least it did the few times he's done it on stage like in interviews. I think there is a video it might have been at Celebration of him doing this and admitting this fact but I can't remember but yeah that's why they went with Stanton who sounds good.

Darkslayer It's not unknown for Mandalorians to customise their own armour. Colour and art is more important to their culture than you might think.

Also, you'll excuse me if I find it amusing when someone finds Starkiller "realistic" in comparison to Sabine.

You know that Mandalorians painting there armor different colors is part of their culture? Sabine doesn't need to be like every other Mandalorian out there, amd neither do other Mandos for that matter. Their individuals not robots, so they are going to express themselves in whatever way they can. Sabine dyes her hair; oh well. She looks awesome. Her armor looks awesome. And she has a bigger claim to that darksaber then Maul. He might have killed Vizsla for it but he's not Mandalorian. The houses will not follow an outsider. But they will follow Sabine if she proves herself. I'm sure we're going see Sabine's flaws in the Mandalorian episodes. It's not like the focus is on Ezra and Kanan anymore. It's expanding.

I get what you mean, but the Luminara episode wasnt child friendly, nor was Kanan getting blinded. I think that since it's airing later they can get darker.

 

We see the Ghost flying through what could be a fire storm and ships firing down on the surface of a planet. Could this perhaps be the first onscreen Base Delta Zero we've seen ?
This pic looks pretty similar to what we saw in the trailer but I wonder in that case which planet is it that gets BDZ'd. Mandalore or Lothal ?

 

I'm thinking it does happen to Atollon which is why we see the laser bombarment being stopped by shields over Wedge and Hera. Hopefully Bendu can teleport off world or something. I bet he could block starship lasers with his hands. It would also explain 'theyve revealed their meager defenses' and the emphasis the Imperials had on taking down the Rebel shield generator on Hoth.

 

Looks like Lothal to me. Mandalore pr the snowy planet they are on doesn't have that much green.
