    YES. ;)

In English, Jedi is both singular and plural.

Oh ya I'm not passing judgement on the film - obviously we can't yet! I just hate the title.

It nails my personal criteria. Remember, I wanted VII to be some "Spy Smasher" or "Crimson Ghost" episodic insanity like THE CREEPING HORROR. Regardless of anyone's view of its content, THE PHANTOM MENACE is one of my favorite film names ever.

I like it...despite the fact that it doesn't follow the 4-worded titles of the previous middle episodes in the saga (Attack of the Clones, The Empire Strikes Back)

The emo fanboy in me was hoping for a title like, Death to the Resistance or Fall of the Resistance :p

At least it had the red font that I hoped for! :D

I like it - evocative, could have several connotations and the red font tops it off.

Doesn't undermine ROTJ at all either, particularly as we don't know what happens in Episode 8...

I'm sorry but I adore this title, and it's red font.

I can't understand people complaining about having the word Jedi in two of the titles, this saga is inherently about Jedi. The word is bound to crop up in titles.

Figured I'd make an image comparison of the teaser posters from over the years:

The OT has its charms, ANH and ESB are very cheesy and of the era. ROTJ is the most polished of the three and could have easily been the main theatrical poster.

The PT are very artistic and experimental. Episode I is the best of the bunch and, dare I say, the best of all 8. Very eye catching and effective, I recall buying the poster online in 1999. Probably my first online purchase.

The ST (is Sequel Trilogy a term people are using much?) are actually quite boring in my opinion. Very much a template method of design. They're very uniform, which is nice, but the He-Man font is still present which I have never liked, I much prefer the OT making a new logo for each film. The star field is different between posters. Some have said that Episode IX will be blue, and I very much agree with that assumption. The fact that we all but know how the IX teaser poster will look like makes them less exciting. They are really more like title reveal posters than anything else.

You know how the Knights of Ren are still dark siders? Maybe Luke decides on an alternative to the Jedi way and forms a new light side organization. Making him the last Jedi.

Disagree especially with Carrie now gone. If anything I think Luke will now perhaps even survive Episode IX which I had him pegged as dead meat for LOL!

To me, this is about Luke and Rey as Luke is the last Jedi (that was established obviously in TFA) and her as the potential heir (or perhaps they find a new religion based on the light of the force).

But what I find most intriguing is this. TLJ will be about Luke and Rey, no question now. We were pretty sure it was given how TFA ended but this really kind of cements it. What I am perhaps most excited about is what this IMHO signals for Episode IX......that will be the story of Ben. :D

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe Luke realized that the Jedi were too rigid in their studies and decides to break away from the Jedis and begin his own path with Rey.

    BOOM-there it is!

How many of us predicted this would be used? Awesome title!!! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!

Sounds like something that would have been used for Episode 9 but I'll take it for 8. 9's gonna have something EPIC for the title.

But interestingly enough, it's not a doomsday title like ESB or AOTC. No use of dark side. Instead it's a title of hope in the middle of a trilogy.

on the offcial Star Wars twitter page they said the following on the announcement "
I know the Star Wars Saga is commonly referred to as the "Skywalker Saga" but do you think there's a reason they went with that instead of "next chapter in the Star Wars Saga"???

the name is fairly underwhelming, what's curious on how they make it clear its the next film in the Skywalker saga. Rey is a SkyGuy.

I'm not complaining about a focus on Jedi. I'm complaining about Disney continuing to ignore how Lucas built this universe (at least in the episodes, Rogue One felt like a George film to me).

The one thing the ST really fails at is teaser posters.

    WOW! Finally!

Thoughts: It deviates from Military Advance titles of OT and PT but it also puts an accent on the Force plot which is big bonus in my book.

The Last Jedi - Luke or Rey or both or more. You never know with the Jedi whether it's singular or plural.

I love this title. It breaks the patterning of the second in a series attacking/stricking but it's cool. ... unless of course Luke is unleash force fury upon the galaxy.

Star Wars naming conventions; never actually really a thing, aside from the deliberate reference to ROTJ's original title. These things are only patterns until they're not patterns anymore. Attack Of The Clones broke the "convention" that only the third in the trilogy has "of the" in the title, and those who like patterns did a bit of creative thinking to make the convention be "the second film's title is a faction doing something"
