There's so many I want to see Mara Jade Rogue and Wraith Squadron from the X-Wing novels Dash Rendar and Xizor Kyle Katarn and Jan Ysanne Isaard Kotor and tales of the Jedi characters (especially HK-47) Kir Kanos Admiral Daala Palleon Kyp Durron Those are the really important ones to me that spring to mind
He was also in Attack of the Clones, and he's been name-dropped in recent canon works like the 2016 Complete Locations. He doesn't have the Dark Acolyte Story, or any story really, but hey, there he is. As to who will be canonized next? Just give Luceno another book and it could be anyone. I mean, a villain from the Droids cartoon and Bea Arthur from the Holiday Special are already in canon, for Waru's sake. My guess for who's next? Salak fricking Weet, that's who.
Also the prize is just a year's supply of Blue Milk and a 25% coupon for used power convertors at Crazy Watto's. However the coupon is valid only on the first and last Wednesday of a given month and between the hours of 7 Pm and 8 pm.
Let's leave Old Fuss and Failure in Legends, yes? Narratively, Rae Sloane already took his role, and she's already a much more interesting character then Pellaeon ever was.
She might fill the "ordered retreat at Endor, eventually rises to control of the entire Imperial navy" niche - but there are other ones. "Thrawn's Watson to his Sherlock" seems to be occupied by Eli Vanto in the pre-ANH era - but if Zahn wants to give Thrawn another "Watson" (if he survives post-Season 4) he might want to bring Pellaeon back.
All joking aside, while he might not be the next character to be re-canonied, my wupiupi is definitely on Revan making it in.
Maybe newcanon Revan will be the creator of the "Presence" in the Holocron Ezra found on Malachor? Revan and Malachor did kind of go together.
I still think there is a decent chance Jaina might be cannonized eventually. Of course not as the daughter of Han and Leia but for instance if Rey ends up having kids I could see them throwing around the idea of having her kid be named Jaina. And she could still have a fairly similar story to what she had in the EU.
I still think it's could be a rank or the name of a spec ops company. No one would say "many humans died doing this". Maybe a little more likely but still odd "many Corellians died getting that"
Honestly, with all the emphasis on everything needing "strong female characters", I'm shocked that Mara Jade hasn't already comeback. I'd be down for it too. She's awesome and in the EU, I fit in with the core group perfectly. Other than that: I want my standalone Dorst 81 story! I think I might be the only Dorsk fanboy on the planet, but I don't care. He is one of the coolest concepts for a character, but got almost no exploration beyond the concept. I want more darn it! I am just dying to ask Kevin J Anderson why so many of the Jedi recruits were given a proper introduction but not Dorsk 81. Then he just shows up in book 2 of the Jedi Academy Trilogy with that explanation "Oh yeah, Luke found him on a planet where he's the 81st clone copy of the same genetic creation, a society based on this concept, and yet SOMEHOW he wound up with Force powers!". How did that happen?! Was he the first of his kind to exhibit these powers or was he just the first one discovered? What was the initial meeting with Luke like? How did Luke get him to agree to join the academy? SO MANY QUESTIONS!!! The idea really sparked my imagination and is line with the more spiritual side of the Force. We got a little bit more from Dorsk in Darksaber, but when I compare him to all the other recruits, I'm just like "How do you come up with an idea as interesting as that and NOT focus on it?". I liked him more than Kyp! That's for sure! Speaking of the Jedi Academy Trilogy, it'd be neat if Exar Kun came back in some way shape or form. I mean, he is basically the Lucifer of Star Wars mythology. He's the original fallen angel that predates Revan, Darth Bane, and all the rest. I was also kind of hoping that Pellaeon would come back along with Thrawn. I am currently reading the new canon Thrawn book and he hasn't appeared (no spoilers please). Its not that he was the best character or anything, but it would be a cool little nod to the original Thrawn trilogy if he was included. Also, it was kind of cool that he was there to witness so much, and I kind of saw him as a stand in for the audience reacting to Thrawn. This is a weird one, but can we get Komari Vosa back in canon? Yeah, I know she amounted to little more than the final boss of a video game (Star Wars: Bounty Hunter), but she was creepy, weird, and had a fantastic voice. If they were able to work her in again somehow, I'd be in favor of it. One of my favorite parts of the game is the story told by the prison inmate about her backstory. Creepy and chilling is the best way to describe it. And hey, get her in a book or an animated show, and it'll give the writers a chance to do more with her beyond just being a video game boss (look what the books, Clone Wars and Rebels were able to do with the likes of Darth Maul and Assaj Ventress) Also, I forget. Is Shadows of the Empire still canon? If not, then absolutely bring Prince Xizor back. Maybe he already has, I don't know. I'm still reading a lot of the new canon stuff (just read the Ahsoka book and I noticed Black Sun came up so fingers crossed!). Much like Thrawn, I love the idea of a non-Force user being the main villain and its nice to see the superpowered Jedi get challenged in ways that don't boil down to them just having a lightsaber duel. In XIzor's case, I love the rivalry with Darth Vader as they vie for the Emperor's praise, I love that he runs Black Sun, this organization that has so much power in a galaxy run by the Empire, and I love how he just constantly plays people against each other.
Yeah, but that would be like if Rebels introduced Thrawn as a Yuzzum rather than a Chiss, as well as making him a comic relief character in the process. When something is done so well in the past continuity, there's not a whole lot worth changing. The reason why I like Rogue One wasn't because it changed the storyline of Dark Forces with the stealing of the Death Star plans, but that it was a well made movie. Of course not everything needed to be changed like removing the Fett's of their Mandalorian heritage or Hutts having separate genders, but when a change is worth it, It's fine.
Anyway, there's nothing ambiguous about what the Bothans are in the new canon. They're a species, that's what they are. From Bloodline: Note that the term "Bothans" is on an equal footing with "Gungan" and "Wookiees."
1) Xizor. So basically an updated version of Shadows of the Empire. 2) Darth Zannah (and Bane's backstory)
Ever since the Propaganda book said that the Sith once ruled Coruscant "a thousand years ago", my dream is that it was Zannah and Cognus. Then Cognus's falling out with Millennial leads to her losing power and retreating back into the shadows. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Revan isn't even a character though. (S)he's just a blank slate to represent the player other than the vague Darth Vader esque backstory. I'm not sure what people clamoring for revan are expecting. Darth Nihilius or any of the other KOTOR era characters would be way more interesting.
