Revan in the first Knights of the Old Republic game was a blank slate. Revan in the Revan novel, Knights of the Old Republic comic book, and the Old Republic game definitely was not.
Well, also a cool mask, at the very least. I think that's the main thing we're practically sure to see at some point. Everything else is fairly up in the air, but I can't see that mask not making it in somewhere.
In Legends, Revan was indeed a character. While you can play KOTOR as a female and what not, there was still a "canon" way of playing the game, and that was as a male with a lightside ending. He didn't just appear in KOTOR as well. He also appeared in the KOTOR comics as the "Revanchist" and was in SWTOR as well, where they fleshed out his character even more.
There have been so many takes on the murder bot in the new canon, i think its only fair that the murder bot make his return. Enough emulations, give us HK-47.
I would not be adverse to seeing Ysanne Isard again, although I doubt it would ever be as a major comeback like Thrawn's. Still, Luceno's recanonized Armand. Ysanne could be a truly frightening villain (some of the time -- the clone thing went off the deep end a bit, but early Ysanne was a danger to be reckoned with).
Revan has had her day, and bringing her into Canon wouldn't actually tell a new story. Anyway, I want Lord Hoth and Kaan in their full medieval glory.
She would be great to contrast to Thrawn. He is meticulous while she is scary cause she is just so unpredictable at times.
Revan will be back at some point. They will most likely revisit the Old Republic era again, as a canon story, and Revan will probably be at the forefront of it.
In KotoR, Revan had multiple characteristics for the player to chose which Revan character they wanted. There was certainly no canon Revan character. The KotoR comic purposely kept Revan as a mystery hooded, faceless character with little dialogue, which the reader could input their game Revan character, whether male or female, light or dark. Revan was only given a canon character and appearance much later with the build up media for The Old Republic mmo. This ruined the Revan character. Fortunately that character is gone, and the original, mysterious, faceless, androgynous character could be canonised.
No, they had actually came up with a Canon version of the character long before SWTOR even was thought of. Before KOTOR II even. It's sorta like how in Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy the "canon" Jaden Korr was a human male with a lightside ending. Sent from my Alcatel_4060O using Tapatalk
I'm rather fond of my theory that the voice of the Sith holocron on Malachor in Star Wars: Rebels belongs to Meetra Surik of Knights of the Old Republic 2. The Legends universe follows from Meetra's light side ending of KOTOR 2, and the Disney canon universe follows from her dark side ending in KOTOR 2. This is why Malachor 5 is intact in Rebels--the dark side ending of KOTOR 2 left it intact.
Read the marvel Yoda comics. They pretty much already did this, more a reinterpretation than a literal idea, but still close enough. Jaxxon's species appeared as a corpse with his same outfit in a clone wars season 5 arc. Turns out some of the EU's most insane elements are what make it back into canon.
I would mess around with the story a bit afterwards and mesh both games together, but I would do dark side female Revan who never lost her memory and female Meetra Surik who is brought back to save the Jedi. I would have have them have been a couple cause that would be the first SW video game with main LGBTQ leads right? Then I would have Ulic involved and combine TOTJ by having this be part of him coming out of his exile. See what happens from there.
Seems like at least half of everybody said Mara Jade, and I am totally with that. Bring back Mara Jade!
I didn't consider Leland Chee's opinion enough to make male Revan canon. Kotor, kotorII, KotoR comic, and the Darth Bane novels all avoided giving Revan a canonised gender. That was the original intention and why it was discussed so much online at the time. Once new content and story started being written for The Old Republic with a male Revan (and a ton of retconing) then it properly became a canon fact and not just a "canon" opinion. The Jedi knight games were different in that the dark side endings were always intended to be an alternate "what if" ending and the next game obviously followed on from the light side ending. If Revan did get recanonised, it would be so much more interesting and fun to go back to when there was a mystery over Revan's gender, when everyone could decide for themselves.
It wasn't an opinion, though. When Leland Chee reported on what was in the Holocron, he was reporting on what Lucasfilm Ltd. had determined to be canonical. He didn't create the canon; he just recorded it. Revan's gender was revealed as early as 2005's The New Essential Chronology, and Leland recorded that in the Holocron because it was LFL's official word on the subject. Dismissing that as an opinion of Leland's that wasn't to be trusted isn't fair or accurate.
My apologies to him then. Still it was just someone at LFL deciding from the same info that we all had, that Revan would be male in that Chronology book. There too was some question whether the pronoun He was used as a universal pronoun by the author Daniel Wallace.
Because Disney is currently operating in the Dark Times to ST era all my passion there for returning Expanded Universe characters is strongest (I love Tales of a Jedi stuff and Kotor 1 & 2 also though, TOR has great cutscenes, but they should scrap the 300 year time jump and imho just make Satele Shan Revan's daughter). Anyways: 1) Mara Jade (my #1 choice by many many parsecs) 2) Captain Pellaeon 3) Jaina & Jacen Solo (Ben can potentially have twins, right? Or Leia hid t) 4) Corran Horn (and family + Rogue and Wraith Square friends) 5) Kyle Katarn (he has some stories left, Jan's gonna need a new last name though. I saw Katarn but it didn't work out and they're currently seperated (reminder: they didn't work out in the EU either)) 6) Talon Kradde (maybe not as important but I love the idea of information brokers in Star Wars) 7) Ganner Rhysode (someone's gotta die epically at Luke's Jedi Order mk1) 8) Darth Revan & Meetra Surik (ying and yang + their supporting casts/villians) 9) Nomi Sunrider (I heard there was a lawsuit over the last name, so if that's still an issue just rename her Nomi Shan and make her Bastilia Shan's mother as they originally planned anyways) 10) Teneniek Djo (if they can't be a Witch of Dathomir just make her a Witch of Hapes Consortium. Plus I always wanted to see a planet inside a star cluster in Star Wars, it would be breath taking) 11) Galen Marek (rework his power levels but no reason Vader couldn't have hidden away a potential inquisitor instead of turning him over. Don't need a big role here, he should die before Empire, preferably before Rogue One. Just be a nice bone for his fans) 12) Ancient Sith Lords + Darth Zannah (but a bit more trained this time) 13) Winter 14) Kyp Durron (every order needs a fool/idiot who thinks they're all that and a bag of chips, great foil for either Luke post RotJ or Rey in the next trilogy) 15) Grand Admiral Zaarin (I've always wanted a tv show of Thrawn verse Zaarin) 16) Ben Skywalker and Anakin Solo (one of the few total renamings I'd accept, loved both and their supporting love interests too... but their names might confuse the daylights out of casual fans. Though imho Ben Skywalker still makes way more sense than Ben Solo, lol) 17) Boba Fett (finally being a badass again, sorry couldn't resist. I wouldn't mind his supporting cast/family either). Think that's good enough
I read a fan-fic (leading up TFA) where Leia had an assistant named Jaina Fel. Not a Jedi but an assistant to Leia when she was a Senator.
I really like that "Jaina Fel" joke. I wouldn't mind a shout-out to a Jedi or other character like that in the background, like that time in Jedi Academy when Luke's instructing the Jedi and randomly prattles on offscreen "Hey, Corran..."
