Remember in the second Force Heretic book about Zonama Sekot staying in a system where one planet had two super powers and then started a space race to get to Zonama Sekot?
There is a strange/or not strange but dangerous mentality that as long as you win at the end you can/should disobey orders. I vehemently disagree with this attitude. Breaks down military discipline. Can NEVER be allowed in any fighting force. OMG what if she didn't disobey orders and the DS destroyed everything because of it? Dang it kriffing obey orders. I don't kriffing care, she needs to be executed even if she survived somehow.
Not remotely on topic, mate. My and Lelal's brief exchange isn't a springboard for a new discussion wholly unrelated to the thread subject.
k So the thread topic is actually human origin in the SW? People can't even agree on the human origin on Earth. I mean, it was in sub saharan Africa, then it's in Europe, then it's in Asia, then it's in Africa again, yes definitely africa, wait it's not. Yes it is, It's now in Morocco. No it's not............. Yes it is.............................
If humans did originate from only one planet in the GFFA then during some past era they must have more children per adult then they have now. All human families, at least in the stories I've read from the new canon, have only one or two children.
They need hyperspace travel first. In order to get the gazillion people off of the original planet and colonize the rest. curiously, all star system in the gffa has on average only one planet per
If you limit yourself to Earth-size planets and a strict criteria for not just habitability, but also comfort, its not unthinkable to select only one planet per solar system to colonize when we know now that there are so many solar systems to choose from in our own galaxy. Even with intensive terraforming Mars isn't going to be a pleasant place to live for Earth evolved human life just due to the 40% percent gravity. Plus a population explosion is more likely to come after the departures from the original planet.
The old EU had a tendency to give movie planets, or planets mentioned in the movies, multiple other habitable planets/moons in the same solar system. Naboo had a few, as did Kashyyyk... Sullust... Yavin (lol space mermaids)... but on the whole yeah, usually one otherwise. Although the old EU also made some really cracked decisions along those lines too. Bunch O'Kessels... Bunch O'Neimoidias (not even in the same sector!!)... TCW was only making it worse adding rings to planets that shouldn't have had them (oh wow I didn't even realize they had tried to retcon that before Disney... ah you poor FrankenEU...)
Yavin 8 is home to the Melodie, who basically become mermaids when they get older. Also, Yavin 13 has Gerbs, bunny people, and Slith, snake people.
One of my favorite things is the random insertion of mermaids into a franchise. For instance, canonically, a mermaid took Superman's virginity.
I don't know if this has been brought up yet, but the author has a really old webpage describing what was planned.
Thanks! Someone should linked this first thing, so we didn't go by the summaries of summaries in Wookieepedia or in the linked video...
They spend most of their daily life trying to avoid being eaten by the giant birds, snakes, and spiders that live on Yavin 8.
