Damn Bendu, you scary.

 

Sounds very much like metaphorical death to me. The Ahsoka we used to know dies and a new Ahsoka rises in her place which would add to the whole Gandalf parallels Filoni mentions over and over again.

 

If Ahsoka is not going to be in anything beyond Rebels in the time line, then they need to give a proper exit. Her walking away down a dark stair being the last we ever see of her just doesn't work for me at all. At least if that is to be her end make it known somehow. If it isn't her end she needs to appear in season 4 and they either need to set up her future, or give her a few episodes of headlining, and let her go out with a bang.

 

Filoni did mention that what they did in S4 reminded him of the Mortis trilogy which I love by the way so maybe this comparison has to do with what happened to Ahsoka after her fight with Vader.

I am so confused and starting to get irritated with her vague "ending". I want her to survive, but even more I just want to be aware of her status. It irks me how they are so indecisive about it.

 

They might be setting up something later though. Like Post ROTJ.

 

Interesting that the Bendu calls her a former Jedi Knight. She was never formally knighted by the order, and by the time of Rebels, while she had by then progressed to knight (or even master) level in terms of skill, power, ability and insight, she didn't identify as a Jedi.

 

Bendu addresses people the way they introduce themselves to him, doesn't he? Maybe she just felt like introducing herself as “I am Ahsoka Tano, Former Jedi Knight.”
It’s not like he would fact check anyway.

Hey guys look, Filoni's favorite survived past Obiwan, Yoda, and Anakin's lives.

Her contribution to the franchise in my eyes works better if she is kept pre-OT. I prefer if she goes out not knowing about a new hope and the return of the jedi. It also makes dark times era more different from OT by not allowing her to live into the era of Lukes adventures. Limiting more stories about her to dark times and before. Letting her "future" expand that era some more.

I don't think the OT and beyond need a powerful PT relic to still be kicking.

Legends had a problem with keeping various PT jedi alive even post-RoTJ.

I'm not against say a survivor (no longer a jedi) from order 66 still being alive in the OT, but also isn't super powerful and living on some backwater planet and not involved in galactic civil war.

But if Ahsoka is alive during the OT, I don't see her as the type to ignore any relationship to the rebellion. Also with her unique relationship with Anakin, I don't want her telling Luke or other OT cast people about Anakin's life.

 

Except that Ahsoka says in her own words that she isn't a Jedi anymore. No matter what the Bendu or Vader thinks. Ahsoka surviving or showing up after Return of the Jedi isn't that awful. She isn't interfering in the OT and defeating Vader on her own; Luke was the only one to reach him. She could just be there as a bit of a guide to Luke creating a better Jedi Order; while still not being directly involved herself and doing her own thing. Ahsoka surviving is fine, but it has to be done well and make sense.

 

I am aware she isn't a Jedi. Instead she is a "Powerful and good lightsaber wielding force user who happens to be a ex-jedi". She is VERY similar to what a Jedi is. Her existence is a reminder of the PT era Jedi. Part of the reason why I want her gone before the OT or post-RoTJ. While she won't help Luke fight Vader, her being alive in the OT could give the rebel cause a strong helping hand.

 

What if she doesn't go back to the Rebellion though?

 

I don't think Ahsoka will involve herself in galactic affairs after the duel with Vader (assuming she survived). I think she'd do well in exile similar to Shaak Ti in TFU - she could even take on an apprentice of sorts, a Force sensitive being, but not teach them in the strict ways of the Jedi. If Luke ever comes into contact with her, it should be he that seeks her out, or perhaps members of the Church of the Force.

 

Maybe her tenure as a non-aligned Force wielder is the middle part of a three step transition, and she will emerge somewhere post-RoTJ as a full fledged Dark Sider. Not nescesarily a Sith, but definitely wielding the Dark Side of the Force. Maybe she would even be involved to some degree with the setting up of the Knights of Ren.

 

Future voice-over team for a SW related project?

 

It is terrible fan-servicing at it's worst. Filoni is definitely milking his pet character for every dime he can get.
