As i've said. i'm almost certain that luke is piloting the falcon in every shot we see of it in both trailers.

What makes you certain? I would say that it's 50/50 between Rey and Luke myself and that's just a hunch.

And we know for a fact that she pilots the Falcon at least once in this movie with Chewie as co-pilot whilst wearing her 'Jedi training' outfit.

That Hot Toys replica of Rey, I got an email from Sideshow about it and I immediately placed my order for it.

I have hazel eyes too and it really is a descriptor for ,'not quite green, not quite brown.' If you shone a bright light in my eyes they would look quite green, and in dull light they look a sort of pale brown. I see the same effect with Daisy's eyes. :)

My theory is based on the speculation that luke's hand busting out of the rubble was after he'd been left for dead on ach-too. Now, maybe rey was kidnapped, maybe she left willingly after kylo revealed something troubling to her (like this grumpy old man is actually her father and abandoned her on jakku.) Either way, I figure luke and chewie take the falcon to the supremacy where they'll meet up with finn and rey. Or maybe rey is at the stick while luke and finn are on the gunner positions.

You know, if they completely ignore Finn in all of this, it's going to be really irritating. Like this notion of her going with/to/joining Kylo and the FO, umm there's another person who's supposed to be your best friend who has, experience, with them.

If the movie just ignores that, then it'll be really sloppy writing.

I also find it irritating that those who argue Rey Random and that Rey's "family" are those closest to her (which would be Finn) seem to think she'd so easily turn her back on him by joining forces with Kylo because Luke is currently annoying her. Where's the concept of "family" in that?

Well not just Finn. Chewie, BB-8, heck even Poe and co would probably welcome her with open arms given how she helped them out (and also Finn/BB-8 are Poe's buddies as well don't forget). And of course there's Leia as well.

The idea that it's "either it's Luke, or if he's a jerk to her, her only other option is to join the baddies" is, not true.

I doubt that'll happen. Even if they don't mention Finn directly, Rey isn't just going to blindly go along with the FO.

I've just heard the whole "well she joins Snoke, or Kylo because she's disillusioned with Luke" floated around a lot both here and elsewhere. And my point is, those aren't her only two options here. And it'd kind of make her look bad given what happened last time as well.

Assuming Luke is annoying her. We do know that Rey and Finn team up in the third act so there is every possibility and indeed likelihood that they'll get to remind each other of their mutual worth. :)

I just don't see that happening. I also like the idea that her "I just want someone to show me my place in all this" scene might be her talking to Chewie, not Kylo. Scenes cut together for trailers can be deceptive, as we all know.

the notion of Rey's disappointed with Luke and joining Kylo and the FO does not make sense to me, first it are forgets the basic concepts of SW, family and friends, TFA teaches us the link of Finn and Rey and bb8 (they are like family)the importance of Finn, bb8 and Chewie for her, really if it happens thus it would leave to Rey in a bad position, as if she was stupid, and already there are enough people disappointed with the "supposed" characterization of Luke , it would add more fire with the stupid characterization of Rey.it is as if in ESB after knowing that Vader is its father, Luke had gone with him willingly. I want progression not regression.

Which is why I don't think it will happen that way. Having said that, it clearly gets quickly established that she is Über powerful and that this appears to disturb Luke. She learns that there is one other person who has those same power levels; someone whom she (according to Daisy) is pretty pissed with right now as one would expect.

Nonetheless she will be starting to ask herself the simple question: why do I share this common characteristic with the enemy? Anyone in that situation would be seeking answers, and she probably already suspects that she isn't going to like the answer...

The primary variable we don't know here is whether she abandons Luke, he abandons her, they leave together, or are forced apart when/if they come under attack.

Also she turns to Kylo for "guidance?" Yeah she's pretty foolish if she does that. He cannot even get a handle of himself, so how is he supposed to guide her. And she's seen him do awful things and then mentally unravel in front of her. Again, you cannot ignore past events here.

And if it comes to that, then Luke is the most incompetent Jedi Master ever.

Why does it have to be a competition? What if Rey is able to glean information from more than one person and seek guidance from both Luke and Kylo?

This may be the end of the binary light/dark dynamic. The Jedi may end, and what comes next could be pretty cool. Besides Rey is not a prize to be had or conquered. It's her journey and only she can go down that path.

Again I struggle to think of what would make her suddenly go "yeah he's a mentally unstable mass-murdering nutcase who killed his own father, kidnapped and tortured me, and nearly killed Finn. Oh and he went freaking crazy at the end there and cannot control his own mental state. But yeah, he's truly the one who should guide me."

Again this notion of "something changes" can only go so far when it comes to believability.

And it's not about being a "competition." It's about basically saying that the guy cannot train one student without screwing it up in some way, to the point that she seeks out his murderous nephew because THAT guy is a better option, really?

Why should Rey seek guidance from Kylo? Kylo has nothing to offer her, if he can't even with himself, Snoke is something else.

Of course trusting Snoke would also make her an imbecile, and make Luke look inept.

very true and I agree, but at least looking for guidance from Snoke would be at least more believable, since we know he is more capable than Kylo.

True, but she also knows that he's evil. At least with Sheev and Anakin, Sheev was masquerading as an honorable reformer/leader. He didn't reveal his true nature until he was sure that Anakin was already "hooked" as it were.

With Snoke, everyone already knows that he's the leader of the FO, who just committed genocide on a grand scale, and she knows that he corrupted Kylo. So her trusting him at all makes very little sense.

It'd be like if I needed guidance, so I went and sought out Vladimir Putin or something.
