But wasn't that a forced change because of different ship design? This wouldn't be a forced retcon. It would be a "we don't care" retcon. I explained how it could be done without retcons here...
Sorry you were forced to say that. IMO, it’s an excellent design. One of my favorites of the new vehicles. So far, the concept work for this film seems impeccable.
Yeah, I usually love the quirky designs but I'm not so fussed on that one. Maybe it will grow on me. I can see what they went for though, it had to be "car" like, because Han's a driver and all.
Any idea of what Coaxium is? Its card is grouped with a bunch of vehicles, and apparently it accompanies the Falcon toy. Perhaps coaxium is the loot from the train heist. The ium part of the name makes me think it's a metal or gas. http://yakfaceforums.com/main/2018/04/09/new-solo-vehicle-and-weapon-names-revealed/
I think one of the new Falcon toys has a couple of those Coaxium containers that fit into a recess in the Falcon. As they have warning triangles on them the stuff must be dangerous. Given how big the explosion is when the Conveyex Cargo unit explodes I would assume that Coaxium is mined or processed on Vandor. Nice to see that the Walker in the trailer is identified here as well - an AT-DT, like an AT-ST but with a big gun.
Yeah, I like the guess of it being an All Terrain - Defense Turret. That seems more likely than All Terrain - Dump Truck.
I'd like that. If we do see a star destroyer, maybe it would be cool if were an old Venator Class Republic Cruiser.
also whether or not it's the falcon in the ep 3 cameo doesn't matter in any way at all. it's literally the minutest complaint.
Aaaaand @CrazyOldJedi 's theory was correct. The beach tower from the trailer is a ship: Like a massive version of the Slave I. Brilliant. Almost certain it's Dryden Vos's ship. Though it could also belong to the Cloud Riders. Or both. In which case, the Cloud Rider's might deploy off the top of that ship - which is what we could be seeing here: We'll see! Can't wait, in any event. Everything about this film looks incredible.
Sliding back to the whole ROTS falcon conversation The Star Wars website Databank still lists ROTS as a movie the Falcon appears in, and Pablo has implied a couple times on twitter in the last week that it is as well. Any differences can be chalked up to modifications made between then and Solo.
Definitely is. Covered it here: http://boards.theforce.net/threads/background-characters.50048935/page-2
Well, Since I have loved all the new movies, I don't see that we HAVE a problem. But in any case, Lucas sold the rights. It's not his story to control anymore. Given some of his decisions, I don't personally see that as a bad thing.
Part of the Coast Village battle, I think the building may be the Refinery Canteen (disused obviously);
You've spotted it. I'm going to say that the huge, tall, thin vessel is most probably Dryden's. Though we haven't yet seen Beckett's interplanetary ride, so...
Is that a cargo pod or escape pod? If it's a cargo pod my guess is Han has to dump something while on a heist in a hurry for some reason. If it's an escape pod, my guess is either Qi'ra or Beckett get into it and sacrifice themselves to save Han and Chewie, thus explaining why it's not in the ANH Falcon.
what l'm wondering is if that ship is dryden's is the tower at the top the fancy place we see him in?
For you, sure. But the last time I checked, neither George, or KK, or any other filmmaker is able to cater specifically to the demands of every individual fan. So for the millions who are very happy with the Disney films, it's not a problem in the slightest. Not sure what the answer to that is, other than I hope either Solo, or another upcoming film works for you.
