True but solo bombed at the box office and half the fans hated the last jedi

Solo's BO has nothing to do with how good the movie actually was.

If the last four movies are of "terrible creativity", then give me more of that terrible thing.

Not that all these movies were perfect, but I for one thoroughly enjoyed each and everyone of them. Though even if I didn't like them, I still wouldn't stoop to the level of suggesting that my opinion defines whether Kennedy is good with creativity or not. Her entire career kind of speaks for itself on that matter.

Let’s see this poll that substantiates your claim that half the fans hated the Last Jedi.

I don't know how to link websites though my xbox but I will try to do it next time I am on a computer.

Star wars the last jedi did indeed split the fan base where some who like it and some who hated it. The fans did overall did enjoy solo more despite many who have.boycotted it as well when crittics gave solo an average review . I for one believed that the last jedi had some good and bad decisions too, and for me overall its good but not great.

Or don't. Even if it could be substantiated (it can't) this thread is not about The Last Jedi. This thread is about the future of the Anthology series.

I cried out loud when I read the Kenobi and Boba Fett spinoffs were ultimately "canceled." :_| (okay not really but, you know...)

A moment of silence for the Obi-Wan film we will likely now never see............[face_shhh][face_plain]

I’m not sure, but I assume that’s a reference to the rumor and articles that prompted this thread to be created before.

Why the hell didn’t they just do an Obi wan film instead of solo?! They’ve screwed up big time and now we’re going to miss out on so much :_|

I read an article from Variety about a week ago, which referenced a sort of "flushing of the current LFL slate" of SW films that were planned, in the wake of KK's contract extension. Specifically it mentioned the Boba Fett and presumed Kenobi films were dropped because of this. It was basically spinning the "spinoff films on hold" statement from a different perspective, I think. So, if the spinoffs are being stopped, that in-turn means any pre-production for any spinoffs-rumored or confirmed-would be also stopped. That's what I was going off of.

Just pre-emptively: no need for me to be 'splained to about how much or little merit or validity certain sites have in terms of SW news-I fully understand these may be nothing more than rumors, etc. I'm not sure about the "validity" of Variety as a film news source as compared to others, but it's what I read which I decided to take as a possibility. But (and I assumed this was given in my original post there) I was expressing my reaction based off the possibility that it were true. I'll acknowledge this may not be the case. But-speculation and stuff, you know! That's what we do here! ;)

Variety is better than most (alongside HR), but in this case, it read like speculation.

I'm pretty sure we will see a Kenobi film.

Well it sounds like it's official: Boba Fett IS in fact dropped-as reported on the main news thread. This time quoted from KK herself! I kind of assumed that-as I'm sure many have-after seeing how The Mandalorian is coming along. I'll admit I'm not too sad about this. Hopefully there's still some hope for the Kenobi spinoff though-cos out of any possible "A Star Wars Story," that's the one I'd want to see the most!

(I know this is technically a double post, but seeing as my last entry was posted 10 days ago......;))

I don't want any anthology films until Lucasfilm/Disney have a proper direction. They can't make the mistakes that have been made before. I liked Solo, but the performance was rough to swallow. I don't want to see some boring Tatooine movie, or some lackluster bounty hunter movie that can only make $300 million at the box office. That is not star wars. I hope they take there time with this and come up with good epic content, even for anthologies.

Eh. She also said Carrie wouldn’t be in episode ix so I’ll hold my breath ever so slightly for future Star Wars story films or series

IMO, the anthologies have been the best of the films so far. Snd there was nothing hard to swallow about Alden’s performance. It was excellent. So I disagree.

That said, I’m happy to see anthology content rolled into TV instead. Still cinematic quality, but with more depth and more rewatchability.

The fairly obvious answer is that its Han Solo. he is a well-loved character in Star Wars with alot of nostalgic backstory baggage to excite people.

It not doing well if probably the biggest warning light there is. not because it was wrong for them to make it, but more how the audience are interpreting Star Wars these days. which is in a very split minded and occasionally bitter view.

But instantly i think people rejected the film due to fear about learning too much and obvious attachment to Harrison Ford.

In that respect though, i do think a Obi Wan kenobi movie would do alot better, because i think people want to see Ewan back in the role and have more of a connection with him.

All Solo not doing well said was “give your films much more than three months of marketing.”
