I was reading articles on what eras they could focus on in the star wars universe

I am on my xbox and I don't know how to send a link threw it. So the point I am making about this is what era should the Russo brother's focus on if they get the chance and that is yet to be confirmed?

I would go the old republic

It was during an interview with Collider where they expressed interest: http://collider.com/the-mandalorian-russo-brothers-star-wars/

It doesn't seem to be much more than that right now though. I'd love it if it were to happen. They've directed by far the best MCU films to date. It'd be great to see them take on Star Wars next. Probably likely at some point too.

Ron Howard also seems interested in directing another star wars flim too. But I believe the Russo brothers have a better chance to do a star wars project then Ron Howard.

Maybe Ron Howard or the Russo brother's can revive the canceled Boba Fett Movie.

Well B&W ( and maybe RJ's 2nd & 3rd instalment ) needs directors of high calibre and track record, we might see them directing one of those films ( or more ). Unless... we're getting a third series/trilogy.. :) jk jk

I'm sorry if I sound grumpy, but actors/filmmakers saying they "want" to be involved in some film does nothing for me at all. Tell me when they're signed on-then I'll get excited. They can talk about how they'd "love to do it" till the cows come home. But it means nothing until they're actually involved with the production!

Yeah, it really grates me when websites run "news stories" that amount to nothing more than an actor saying "Yeah, I'd like to be in a SW film", or “So-and-so says he’d be up for playing Batman". Its worthless garbage.

I’d love to direct a Star Wars film, but I’m too busy doing more important things. Sorry, Lucasfilm.

The Russos have proven that they can respectfully take on a franchise, but also shake things up enough to keep audiences invested. They also like to experiment with tone and genre, which isn't unprecedented in the Star Wars saga.

And yeah, I agree that people saying they're interested in Star Wars is pretty pointless (of course you're interested). They're trying to get us to care about all the A-list celebrities that begged for a cameo role in the current films

And hopefully since it is the new year of 2019, star wars can evole from the fatigue its been in. I hope JJ abrams can fix it and win some fans back. Many of them are thinking about another boycott.

As for the Russo brothers, I love to see them take on star wars which in my opinion its in the distant future.

Honestly, much as they came out of nowhere and pleasantly surprised us with The Winter Soldier (and Infinity War was rad), I kinda have zero interest in them for Star Wars. To...modern, or something? I dunno. I just can't abide their Bourne shakey-cam bullshiz on a good day (they did reign it in a little for Infinity War, to their credit), really don't want to see that handheld quick-cut stuff in Star Wars action scenes. I never felt like Edwards crossed a line with the handheld stuff to where it feels really non-Lucasfilm-y, but honestly kinda figure the Russos would.

    They're a little too deconstruction-y, too.

There are just so many great directors out there that aren’t named Russo. :)

I agree about the shaky-cam method. I don't mind it in the appropriate setting, but for something like SW-which is basically a visual cornucopia of beautiful fight sequences and wide scenery shots-it's not appropriate. In fact I've never really been much of a fan of shaky cam for fight sequences in general, IMO it just makes the action look like a mess. A good example of this is the opening fight scene for Captain America: Civil War. That fight scene is cool, but the camera technique just gives me a headache! It basically felt like the camera man was trying to eat a sandwich while he was holding the camera with the other hand. I shouldn't have to strain my eyes so hard to grasp what exactly is going down from shot to shot. I like fight sequences that are more smooth and fluid, with wide shots mixed in. A good example of this is the fight sequence where Batman rescues Martha Kent in the warehouse in Batman vs. Superman. Say what you will about the film-that scene is awesome. That sequence was very well choreographed and filmed (which IMO is one of Zack Snyder's strengths), and was enjoyable to watch and easy to absorb even the small details of what all was going on in each shot.

We most likely are, wait for more announcements this year. It also seems to me that star wars is big this year.

Russo, yeah no. I maybe a little hard on it. But i just don't want anyone from Marvel to direct Star wars( Favreau i trust). I've seen the marvel movies and it's just boring. Maybe i say this because seen them all at least ones. But to be honest i hope Star Wars and Marvel keeps as mutch distance from each other as possible. People critism the TLJ, I liked Infinity wars in some part but in other parts it was bad and i know all will be come back and i hate that.

Ehh, I'd love some of the directors of MCU flicks to land a Star Wars gig someday (mostly Johnston, but Branagh would be cool, hell, maybe even Reed), just for me the Russos aren't one of 'em.

And I kinda like the Russos. They're just so, so very ultra-modern, post-modern even, and that doesn't fit everything. They don't strike me as having "fairytale" down, and even guys like Edwards brought some of that aspect to things.

I'd like to see the Russo brothers, Taika Waititi and Ryan Coogler all take on a Star Wars film at some point.
