ST Episode IX Title Discussion: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER

How about between now and next Thursday? It was just a gut feeling. You’re right about Thursday being the day things usually drops.

I do like "Legacy of the Chosen one" but would change it to "Legacy of the Chosen" .....

 

Star Wars Episode IX: Never Gonna Give You Up, Never Gonna Let You Down

 

That sounds like a good Star Wars title.

 

If the trailer at Celebration just ends with "Episode IX", i guess we can take those KK quotes as 100% accurate.

 

SW9: Party Like It's 1983

 

I wouldn't be surprised if it's Rise of the Resistance, but I'm hoping for another title with Force in it.

 

Rise of the Resistance is already the name of the ride at galaxies edge.

 

Also. if it's the concluding chapter of the saga, it would feel weird having the title be "Rise of the" anything, as that seems to suggest continuation.

Rise of the Resistance is not a bad title. I would accept it, but I can think of much better "Star Warsy" titles.

 

I think that RofR is fine for the Disney park, but for the title of IX-no way. Resistance is one aspect of what is being accomplished. The legacy and galactic peace is the ultimate goal so the RotR signifies that it's the Resistance that will last as we finish the saga. The idea is to move from the Resistance to a Republic or some sort of unified galactic harmony.

And from the title of the ride, I would HOPE that the ride signifies one and only one aspect of the SW universe while the park encompasses different times and different stories rather than the entire park centering around the struggle between Resistance and First Order (which a few months after the park opens it will be over).

 

Kylo's Dead: The Final Star Wars

 

I’m guessing that the title will be a response to The Last Jedi title and, in keeping with the titles of the previous two films, will be Force-related in some way. Luke said “I will not be the last Jedi” in Episode VIII, and he probably won’t be. My guess? A New Jedi Order. Or something along those lines.

 

Episode 9 - The Chosen One

Like The Last Jedi, it's vague enough in its meaning. Pre-release, people could question that as a cap to the whole Skywalker Legacy, does it refer to Anakin, Luke, Rey, or Kylo? (you could potentially even throw Leia in there, depending on how the story eventually unfolds).
