I wouldn't necessarily call it objectifying her. It's the artist's own style. Tbh, I think if it wasn't for the makeup, she looks more realistic otherwise.

I don't understand what's more "realistic" about Barrientos' version. Plenty of women don't have massive breasts.

The problem I have with his "style" is that Hera doesn't at all fit that body type. He is clearly objectifying her by giving her a much more buxom look. His version, with large breasts and huge hips and thighs, certainly does't lend itself to an active fighter/ soldier, which Hera is supposed to be. It looks like he wants her to be ready to produce offspring, should the war die down and the opportunity arise. Seems like a pretty misogynistic interpretation to me.

I mean, that's more or less the defining distinction between official art and fan art. Official- true to screen, fan- boobies (not always of course, but there's a reason DeviantArt has its reputation for housing loads of risqué art.)

I got the "risqué" fan art from Artstation. They actually hide "mature" art from younger viewers; but this one wasn't deemed "mature".

It is art. There are probably plenty of other details that the artist did not get 100% correct, but that is art for you. Having different styles is not bad, and that is in no way "objectifying". Geez people.

It's not about being correct or a different style- the artist literally changed nothing except their bust and thigh size. They're basically saying "y'know, these characters aren't pretty enough on their own, let me change them to conform to my own standards of beauty". And like, I know Hartman Hips are a thing, but even I think they went a little overboard with Hera there.

Like, there's plenty of ways to accentuate their femininity without resorting to overly sexualizing them. There's a reason some comic book artists are trying to stray away from the Most Common Superpower.

My take is that you can suggest that she's slightly more endowed than you'd normally think of Hera; but it's absurd to deem the artist as overly sexualizing the character. Relatively speaking, go do a Google search on Ahsoka Tano and make sure the mature filters are turned off. Then we can really talk about overly sexualizing a character.

Honestly I'd respect them more if they did a more blatant approach. There's a difference between a sexy interpretation of a character and sexing up a character.

Anyone else really miss this show? Here’s hoping they stream the Rebels remembered panel on YouTube. I’m also hoping for maybe some deleted scenes and stuff?

Ha, you beat me to it, I was thinking - is that Thrawn looking like Mr. Brosnan?

I know what you mean. The passing of time is being kind to Rebels. I liked it at the time, but I have really grown to appreciate it now.

Explain, please. I fail to understand how you can appreciate a show like Rebels considering it's as layered as a pancake.

You do know that people are allowed to like a show that - for whatever the reason - you don't like, right?

Fine. I started out not particularly liking the show, but I let it grow on me; especially with the strong, independent female character like Hera being the glue to keep the group together. It was more personal than TCW; the Ghost Crew had a new adventure together in just about every episode. And on top of everything else, it was interesting to see how the Rebellion against the Empire grew; complete with cameos from key players like Bail, Saw, and of course Leia.
