Yes. That was a strange narrative decision.

Jorah's death was important, sure. But I don't think we're set up to really care as much as we should. His scenes have been weak in the episodes leading up to this moment.

    Very possible.

Though, as someone who watched 80's classic The Beastmaster in his formative years, I know all Bran really needs to save the day is a pair of ferrets.

Jorah's death was beautiful. Of course it was sad, but he died the way he wanted, at home in the north while defending Dany, so in that way I didn't get so sad about it. Theon's death was obvious from the moment he volunteered to guard Bran, so that didn't make me surprised or totally sad either. I totally agree that some more of the bigger characters should have died to make it believable, my obvious choices were Brienne and/or Tormund, but at least someone would have been good to keep the suspense up.

Yeah maybe they didn't kill Brienne because it was almost too obvious. We all expected her to die after being knighted. Maybe she'll actually live through the whole thing and continue being Sansa's bodyguard, who knows.

Well, it seems like they're revisiting the relationship between her and Jaime so maybe something will come out of that. Or maybe some wacky love triangle between her, Jaime, and Tormund.

    People who should have died:

    1. Fat guy in the middle of the action who admittedly can’t fight while people died all around him

    2. Handicap guy with only his bad hand left who admits he can no longer fight.

    3. Guy who isolated himself trying to go after Darth Maul and ended up surrounded by about 50 heavily armed zombies.

You know, just to start at the lowest hanging fruit.

Jamie may be handicapped, but he's gif the best plot armor gold can buy.

They shouldn't have killed off Barristan back in season 5, he'd have made a good death now, upped the "meaningful death stats for this episode.

Joffrey should have put Sansa out of her misery but it was much more fun watching him be an *** **** to her.

Why the **** doesn't Jamie just use a shield?
Pretty standard set-up for one-handed arming sword use. Plus it would make him way more effective given he supposedly struggles left-handed. And give him much stronger defense to compensate for not having the two-handed block anymore

A shield and a proper one handed sword (even something like an arakh like the Dothraki use) should be what he's using and it seems silly to me that no-one seems to have brought this up.

I finally watched the last one. For some reason I didn't expect the whitewalkers to go down in one episode and since the show started with them as the budding threat, I thought it might end right with their defeat.

I suppose it still works in that the resolution of the story would be to attempt to resolve something of the "badness" that led the children of the forest to create the night king to begin with.

Maybe there's more waiting... I just feel it's too early to conclude the magic plot...

It's a shame all the white walkers are gone. Thankfully the heroes won as they were in dire straits.

I don't like Sansa, never did. I didn't get any joy out of the misery that Ramsey caused, but Joffrey always made me laugh when he'd poke fun of her.

Obviously not those examples listed above, but it's a little ironic that Sansa wanted to be with her "beloved Joffrey", to the point even Arya made fun of her, and she had no idea what she was in for. Obviously, no one deserves that kind of abuse in real life, but in this fantasy show, I didn't like the character of Sansa so I liked when Joffrey would say **** to her. She trusted him and begged her father to take his side and that didn't help save his life.
