Well either Kylo has one already in IX that we don't know about, or he's in the process of recruiting his apprentice as IX begins, KoR battling it out, or seeking one out on another world, or maybe he's still obsessed with turning Rey and making her his apprentice, or some combination of all of the above.... Heck, I don't know!
My theory is Snoke was already dead (deceased darksider) when Palpatine's spirit took over and that is why Snoke looked the way he did and that is why this was one of the looks they considered shortly before settling on his final look.
If this is the case then I hope the act of possession is somewhat destructive. Like Kylo ends up with the same kind of scaring. I hope its just not invisible and the only noticible difference is Kylo has a glare in his eye and evil smile. It would be more interesting if Ben ended up looking similar to Anakin in ROTJ. And Snoke already has that same scaring too, but maybe more violently
If Snoke was already dead, it would have been fun to have more hints about this rather than merely his look, which is just what we already expect a darksider to look like.
Might have been mentioned already, but the logo on the box and on the stand for the 1/6th scale figure appears next to Darth Vader's name in an upcoming 'Whos who' book. So it might be a new symbol for the Sith. You're grasping at straws here. We've got a trooper design completely out of context of the movie and story. For all you know these are Palpatine's troops, not Kylo's.
I cant really get behind Palpatine returns to life stuff like Dark Empire series(which this trilogy film series is not), since that character being killed a 2nd time becomes pretty bad. Like bringing Maul back just to kill him off again but only a lot quicker since this is the end movie . Another problem is that it makes Luke look a lot worse than he already is, more useless too for years since he didnt really do anything post Shattered Empire/BF II. It also may take away from Kylo and Rey. His new Jedi Order was a flop and he couldn't even save his students he was knocked out, after that he retreated - he never stood up to Kylo or Snoke or whoever. I think it would make sense for having past Sith like Sidious and other Dark Lords influencing and turning and ordaining Kylo into a Sith Lord - so that religious Order starts again and continues its dark legacy. Much like Bane did . The Sith Order is more important than just one character anyway. But Luke is important as being the chosen one, they undermined this character a lot in the ST, so they will have to somehow fix it good.
Well, maybe the soldiers are members of the Sith species? LOL Actually the Sith Lords played a much bigger role in Arnt's script and possibly Lucas' outline than what we got for TFA. Even Darth Talon was gonna appear. interesting there was a red armored "Jedi Killer" concept back in the Art of The Force Awakens:
I remember in the Art of TFA book JJ specifically asked for red Star Destroyers at one point, lol. Well they been reusing unused ideas and stuff from the old TFA concepts in all their recent movies. Most likely they are recycling what had from Lucas/Arnt back in 2013 and ideas Abrams had back then for this movie too.
Unless they fully bring back Palpatine, which I don't want, then Kylo is the only darksider we know of right now that could qualify as a "Sith". Which again I don't want, as they kept telling us this whole time that Snoke and Kylo are not Sith. Both in universe and in real life. I'm just hoping the name is a simple marketing trick and the troopers won't actually be called that in the movie and other canon material.
Maybe one reason they didn't use that lich clearly risen from the grave Iook at the end is because it would be too obvious he was clearly dead previously.
I really wish they took on the more gritty Legacy-inspired aesthetic that is present in the concept art because this looks pretty sweet.
I wonder if these Sith Troopers will be completely obedient and subservient like Darth Krayt's Sith trooper.
Yeah...and seeing how the FO has been hiding out in the UR for 30 years, you'd think they would have found something cool out there. Some space warrior species they could have allied with.
He could call himself without being a Sith. A pretender. I don't know why he would, but it's a possibility. Maybe we're taking the troopers name too seriously.
Totally contradicting myself here but I can see Hux referring to them as Sith Troopers with disdain in his voice.
