I forgot about that. I immediately thought of Winter Soldier, because didn’t she tell Steve the WS programme was only a rumour?

I thought exactly the opposite, due to "bye bye bikini season"? Doesn't she basically lay the foundation that the Winter Soldier is real, because she survived him?

I was just thinking if they were to do a She-Hulk on a TV budget just go the Lou Ferrigno route with the She-Hulk like they did in the 70's. I mean, Jennifer Walters is rarely in normal human form. Just cast Gwendoline Christie or someone in the like. But, I know that won't happen. Just being nostalgic.

Well, I'd give better odds than that. I mean, it's the TV side of Marvel that produced shows like The Gifted and Legion. And I remember a few years ago there was talks of a Hellfire Club and other things in the works between Marvel Entertainment (different from Marvel Studios) and Fox. Additionally, Marvel Entertainment (TV) and Marvel Studios do not get along because the whole Kevin Fiege and Ike Perlmutter feud. So, like Inhumans, Marvel Entertainment could go back to the Fox projects and get them off the ground. There are so many mutants that are not connected to the X-Men. Moreover, there could be characters that are connected to the Fantastic Four that could mined.

At any rate, I'm not really excited for a ABC Network Marvel TV series as none of them have been "must see TV," which would include Agents of SHIELD.

    My feeling exactly.

That was such a good story arc. Remender jerked a few good tears in that story line.

Yeah, I really wish they would just get rid of Perlmutter. I understand why Marvel cut ties with Netflix but there's really no reason why there can't be more synergy between the ABC shows and Marvel Studios other than Feige not getting along with him.

Yeah, but it would probably cost a king's ransom to buy out Perlmutter from Disney. At least Disney+ Marvel is run by Fiege and it's directly connected to and will impact the MCU. Which got me thinking of "tie-ins" in comic books. I wonder if these Marvel Disney+ "tie-ins" will create backlash by fans like the comic books crossover event often do. I'm sure that will be some not so happy fans about the "tie-ins."

Anyway, it's Jeph Loeb that's been running Marvel Entertainment and he has had more misses that hits. Daredevil being his best work and Inhumans and Iron Fist being his worse. Hopefully whatever new female show he's cooking up, it will be more along the lines of Daredevil and not Iron Fist.

I'm glad Gemma Chan is getting another shot at being a MCU character. My wife and I love her in Crazy Rich Asians and were disappointed in the role she had in Captain Marvel. Hopefully, she play a more involved and impactful character. This is the first time an actor has played two different characters in the MCU proper films, the being another Asian actor, Kenneth Choi, who played Jim Morita in Captain America: The First Avenger and then played that character's grandson in Spider-Man Homecoming.

The problem with the She-Hulk is that her rights may belong to Universal ( that's why the MCU never used the character).

Apparently Feige doesn't have an exactly rosy relationship with Loeb either.

Do you know if the She Hulk's right are along the same lines as the Hulk? As I understand, Universal has the distribution rights to a solo Hulk film. However, the loop hole Marvel/Disney uses to not to release a solo Hulk film, and that's why he's always teamed up like in Thor Ragnarok and the Avengers flicks. I'm thinking that's probably the case with She Hulk. They could partner her up with another character or characters for a TV show.

That doesn't surprise me. I'm sure the two butted heads for creative control and input regarding the MCU. And I'm sure the two will be butting heads on the getting their hands on the use of particular mutants/X-Men and Fantastic Four related characters for their respective formats. Daredevil and the other Netflix characters are probably up for grabs too, as you knows which characters Fiege might want to use to pair up with Blade or Shang Chi.

With Deadpool and now Blade joining the MCU, this seems like a timely video:

It pretty much reinforces what I already felt; I really don't need gratuitous blood and bodily damage in the MCU. BUT ... it does depend on the particular characters in question. I think choosing scenes with Cap, Black Falcon, and Wanda are really what drives that home here. A character like Blade is going to be a different kettle of fish. The issues, if they keep him in R territory, will come up when or if they decide to cross him over with other characters in their own or team-up movies. It's less of a problem with Deadpool because the character is so tongue-in-cheek they can lean on humor to make him feel like a more natural fit. Blade is gonna be much trickier.

If they base Blade on his original comic appearances (instead of his movies) so would it not be that hard to keep him acceptable for the main MCU.

Yeah maybe. I mean Blade is a character that falls completely outside of my comic book knowledge so I'll trust you on that. But I'd also venture to guess that the point of reference for the vast majority of people who will see an MCU version of Blade, if they have one at all, will be the Snipes movies. Most of the audience for the MCU movies have little to no exposure to the comic book versions of the characters.

Given that Doctor Strange 2 is more horror oriented, it is easy to image Blade in his comics version incarnation.

Vampires can be or gory or non-gory as one likes. Probably the easiest of the monsters to adapt.

So with Blade and Doctor Strange 2, I wonder if Feige would eventually build up to the Midnight Sons?

I wonder if they'll do something like the intros of Black Widow, Hawkeye, Spidey, and T'Challa, introducing Blade in Dr. Strange 2. Midnight Sons would be an awesome Team Movie!

Caught a chunk of Age of Ultron on Teevee yesterday, made me think of what would be Essential Infinity Saga viewing

    The Avengers
    Guardians of the Galaxy
    Avengers: Age of Ultron
    Captain America: Civil War
    Avengers: Infinity War
    Avengers: Endgame

that's pretty much as low as you can get it, down to 6 movies total, all the Avengers movies, plus Guardians and Civil War for context/setup.

I would add Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor 1 and 2, as well as Doctor Strange, as all but Thor 1 feature at least one of the Infinity Stones in one way, shape, or form (especially Thor: The Dark World) and the first Thor is essentially Loki's villian origin story.

I'd argue Avengers does a pretty good job of establishing Thor and Loki (enough to be functional) that you don't need Thor 1. And while Thor 2 does involve the Aether, Endgame does the most heavy lifting in terms of exposition/recap of TDW (likely because they knew it would be one of the least viewed films, despite that important element included) so you really don't need that one, either.

I would break the essentials down to be the Avengers films, the Cap trilogy, IM1, GOTG1, AM1, Strange, BP & Thor 3. That gets you most of the Infinity stuff, the necessary intro for both Stark and Rogers for Endgame to still have a full impact, as well as setting up Wakanda, Quantum Realm & the fall of Asgard/Thor's character arc.
