I....I started a trend of people rewatching TLJ, sometimes in hope of finding something more positive about it?

Nah but being serious, despite my many serious issues with the movie, it is a bit refreshing to actually like and enjoy every Star Wars movie again, and rewatching it has also somehow made me slightly more optimistic about TROS for some reason? idk, I'm just happy to actually enjoy the movie again

I'm also interested in seeing Dandy's thoughts on the movie after his rewatch

ok TLJ thoughts:

positives

- Mark Hamill...great actor
- Daisy Ridley is actually a pretty good actress for a Brit
- DJ is an interesting character
- Poe makes me laugh (sorry VJ)
- Hux is underrated and by the far the funniest in any of the movies
- Snoke scenes, nuff said
- I can see why Kylo seems to be a wet blanket now (again sorry VJ ) knowing what some of us know
so he isn't half as annoying to me
- Adam Driver is a good actor
- in fact this movie probably has the best acting consistently among all the cast in the saga
- I like the canto bight scenes
- I like Rose
- Holdo is...'alright'

Negatives
- Lukes character // ending
- Snoke dying (though I've accepted this, I cannot think it's 'ok' that LFL created an enigmatic figure for people to ponder over and then say "LOL he's not important geeks, LOLOL" it was a ****** thing to do......yes Pablo it was.
- the planets were still boring...like TFA
- Porgs...I don't get the appeal
- no lightsaber duel

random stuff
- I've come to the conclusion I don't like nor dislike Finn...he's just there. He doesn't fit into any narrative other than "who will get to be his gf??" which is a shame since Boyega is a great actor and deserves better

- "what's the point in having all of this if we can't even destroy tiny cruisers" LOL what's the point indeed? pretty stoopid

- the whole uproar about how lightspeed works in fandom makes me LOL

- Luke was about to eat that huge fish for supper, was he gonna offer Rey any?

- it's annoying we don't see any familiar aliens in the casino on canto bight, a rhodian or twi-lek wouldn't hurt this trilogy Disney, let there be a connection to other trilogies SOMEWHERE
I get it DR Who creatures are...mood or something, but this is SW.

 

I considered doing that last night but nah.

Oh well, I guess I have the rest of my life.

Dandy I actually think I agree with everything you said about TLJ, although all those opinions for me come with some extra typical Viva enthusiasm on the side

 

My opinion of TLJ has generally worsened since I first saw it.

 

they aren't good actors ?
also please do note I said "for a Brit" for Daisy as I don't rate young actors from the UK I was talking about this with EJC just last night and pretty sure I've ranted to VJ about it

• The minor characters

What I dislike about TLJ:

• The story
• The characters that “matter”
• The script
• The dialog
• The unfunny comedy
• The action
• The editing
• The pacing
• The lack of world building
• The lack of explanations
• The lack of logical progression
• The lack of compelling messages
• The lack of interesting set up for TRoS
• The wasted potential of one Tallie Lintra
