Anyway I have to wait til Thursday til I get paid and even then I might not have it in the budget...

You can boil your strings if they're old and you don't have money for new ones.
I've never done it, but apparently it works.

They are more expensive than guitar strings for sure. You can get a set of strings for under $20 though. Although prices in the shops in Canada are no doubt higher.
Check online. There are some for under $20.

Morning all. Only just woke up from a nice lie-in, but I have to pop out in 10 minutes for my job centre meeting

Oh, since this was a discussion last night: I actually think the acting in The Last Jedi is pretty weak. Sure, Hamill gives it his all, Serkis has nice lines dripping with menace, but that's about it for me. I think Daisy Ridley has been consistently quite wooden, and Adam Driver is way too monotone for me.

I wish there was more Boyega or Isaac honestly, I think both of them are solid actors

Also, I think the much-vaunted visuals of the whole thing are unbelievably dull and/or ugly. The Production Design is so so poor, so from a visual standpoint I hate this thing almost as much as I hate the script, lol
