Not to be a Debbie Downer, but getting this kind of story is making me realize that I don't really care about Finn, Poe, or Rey as much as I cared about Luke, Han, and Leia. I like them; I don't hate them, but I'm guess I'm not super interested in what they were doing before the events of TROS when it's not that interesting of a story.

The one thing I will say that I like is that I was just re-reading "The Galaxy's Edge" TPB, and they mentioned the events on the "Moon of Avedot". So it's cool that we're seeing those events in this comic and we know that Remex, Kendoh, and Wooro head to Batuu at some point after the events of Allegiance.

That's totally fair. Completely aside from what I think of the films, in the end I very much like the lead casts of all three trilogies and seem to particularly dig seeing whatever they were up to between the second and third acts of their respective stories.

Yeah honestly I'm worrying a bit that I'm not gonna be able to stay interested enough for post-EP9 stories because of this. I don't know, I really like the ideas for the characters. Poe - a Han Solo-type rebel pilot, Finn - a former First Order trooper, Rey - an unknown nobody who picks up the last generation's mantle. But I feel like we're seeing none of that in comics like these. You could almost switch out any character in Allegiance with someone else and it'd be the same :/

leia and gang rush out with some mon cal ships, while the first order move in to take over the planet with the implication that the planet was "sacrificed"

    The planet wasn't destroyed though?

No, just a rush in to take over the planet is what is shown, but it's certainly possible that could have happened after this issue.

It's highly that the most of the citizens fled as well with an evacuation.

Well that was an abrupt ending. I sort of enjoyed this run for what it was though.
Also man does Mon Cala get absolutely ruined in these comics. They'll never know what peace is

Great issue. A few comments in the spoiler tag below, clarifying some comments above!

    • Mon Cala is OCCUPIED. Not simply bombarded or destroyed.
    • The Resistance manages to acquire some, but not all, of Mon Cala's ships.
    • While I don't use comic visuals for EXACT counts, we see an MC85, an MC80A, a few Neb-C frigates, a Vakbeor, and some fighters. Only one frigate is lost, the rest escape.
    • In all, it is clear that the hundreds of ships we saw in TROS trailer, including multiple Mon Cala ones, were NOT acquired in this comic... [face_thinking];)

I do wonder what it might mean for TROS that Mon Cala was left occupied in this comic. An appearance, maybe? Or perhaps it's just the background motivation for Aftab in the film. Looks like he's in command of one of the new cruisers, too.

You guys are missing the point. The Mon Cala made a choice to put the greater good before themselves. Just like Leia did in ANH. Based on the comic, they are occupied, not wiped out. BIG difference. I suspect that the First Order wants to occupy and use shipbuilding worlds. We’ve already seen this with Fondor.

So the FO, "unlimited resources", may be less than unlimited?

    Power down for them perhaps?

They lost the shipbuilding capabilities of the Supremacy; they at very least need to occupy enough shipyards to balance out that blow.

But that’s the likely reality; against an organised military response, with supply lines and fortifications and the like, the First Order would struggle. Ignoring their lack of a real infrastructure save for the sectors that seceded, their military is woefully inexperienced, and winning by sheer numbers alone is not going to be sustainable.

The best comparison we have in Star Wars is the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, but the Yuuzhan Vong blew up Coruscant and the Senate and High Command (and the First Fleet). Even within two years the Yuuzhan Vong the invasion was spent, and that was after stopping for nearly a year to take a breather and build up again.

    Kylo Ren: Thank Mom!!!
Can't wait when they found out that he is Leia's son.

Honestly....That is kinda something I don't know what happened.

What did happen to the Supremacy? This is a TLJ question mind you (Or fleet junkie) but I'll ask it here as it relates to the FO taking the shipyards.

I mean everyone will have there favorites....I honestly prefer Anakin to Luke in some sense to be honest.

It was abandoned after it took so much damage.

But as it was a mobile capital-shipyard-center, and with Starkiller Base and Snoke lost within the same week of the Supremacy, it's a massive blow, in the middle of their blitzkrieg...

... but the fleet survives, and the leadership bounces back thanks to Ben Solo. But that's hardly a stellar thing for them long term... but he's better than Hux. Arguably.
