The Mandalorian The Mandalorian 1.05-Chapter 5-Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

trash is a strong word its def not that but it will be the first to get a low score from me.

so far it is the lowest rated episode on rotten tomatoes. it still at 83 percent which is far from trash, and while I think it is worse than that score its not like a 4/10 for me either.

 

Right. Plus Fennec Shand has no connection to what went down on Nevarro. Otherwise it'd be a huge coincidence that Mando just happens to run into the bounty hunter looking for her. So there's no real reason for Gideon to be there that I can think of. But we do know that at least one other bounty hunter was looking for Shand so it makes more sense that the mystery man was also looking for her and was led to her location by a tracking fob.

 

There is a reason I have never cared for Youtube reviews or reviews in general. You can like something someone else dislikes even if you usually agree with that person

 

If you're one of the people (myself included) who loved seeing Tatooine and it's familiar places and creatures once more then it didn't suck. It's seeing it once again from a fresh perspective. I feel delight seeing things that have barely changed and things that most certainly have (eg. The EV-9DN droid serving in the bar - that was a lovely touch).

I could watch an episode of him just walking around Mos Eisley with baby Yoda!

 

For some reason I don’t see Boba Fett or Cad Bane working with the Guild. I don’t know they seem kinda above it plus from what we have seen if the guild operated during the clone wars Boba and Bane definitely didn’t work for them then. Plus Boba seemed to work with the Hutts in person and that didn’t seem to be the guilds style.

 

I dont let other people's view color my opinion of media. I love the last jedi and there are 100s that dont, but the same reason I view messageboards is the same reason I watch youtube videos, I like to see a wide array of opinions

youtube of course hates this episode But if Mysterious Man ends up being Boba fett all these "Reviewers" will change their mind and cream their pants with the rest of us

 

all the videos I have posted have done nothing but praise the show before this episode, so its not a disney is ruining star wars thing. I would never post fandom menace stuff rather it is positive or negative bc they are clickbait youtubers to me.

 

For every YouTube that "hates" the new Mandalorian episode, there is another that praises it.

 

The Mandalorian Chapter 5 - The Gunslinger Episode Review

 

Unless Moff Gideon wasn't there for The Mandalorian but was the contact Fennec was going to meet in Mos Espa. He might have troops with him.

Agreed it is presented like a Bounty Hunter. But who are they after? The spurs would hint to Boba Fett.

The spurs were one thing, but the tracking sfx was another hint. I'm leaning more on the side of maybe its him.

 

Also of note as far as we know Boba doesn’t have his armor anymore

Chris, I understand that you didn’t like the episode much. But it’s really hard to care about what Campea and Harloff think. They didn’t like it. Big deal. They also just don’t seem to be adjusting to the fact that this is a different kind of show than they were expecting. It’s basically Samurai Jack in space. And if they keep reviewing the show by the standards of the different show they want, it’s going to be consistently negative.

 

Who did the title "The gunslinger" refer to I wonder...?

 

What if this mystery person isn't Boba, but Bo....Katan! Mand'alor out here looking to re-unite her people, catches wind of a Mandalorian kicking up a storm. You think it's a bounty hunter looking for their prey, sound effects setting up some Boba vibes to get the tension up, then bam it's really a friend setting up a larger story for season 2.

 

But who said Boba was working for the guild? There was no indication that the mystery person at the end had a guild fob.

 

I loved this episode. Very simple and straight-forward as this show has pretty much been. But this was one fun. Just another stop in the long journey of finding a home for the Child, while being chased.

 

I only JUST realized he is always adamant about “no droids” because of Clone Wars PTSD.

Also why he was so quick to kill IG-11. He was once a kid with a droid pointing a gun at his face.

 

I forgot to tag the person but they were hinting at the fact that they could be guild

I love how the droids ended up taking over the cantina

 

Isn't Boba dead? Anyway, I'm starting my ranking, because I love ranking stuff.

The future episodes will likely be above chapter 4, but well, I'm not a clairvoyant.

 

Boba is both alive and dead until they find a story for him. This is probably that story.
