    I hate the whole “They Fly Now!” Clip that was released. Of all the clips why would they release that? Is that supposed to be funny because 3 people say it? It’s not. Not even a little bit. It worries me that they had no better clip to show.

    "I do feel even after three films still, we don't know them [Finn, Rey, Poe] as much as we got to know Han, Luke, Leia" - John Boyega

    Hey I just said the same thing John!

    TROS is the second time I didn't buy tickets to see a Star Wars movie on opening weekend. I saw Solo about two weeks after it was released and I'll probably do something similar with TROS, if I see it in theaters at all, unless early fan reviews convince me otherwise.

    Should have had John in charge of the ST, hopefully JJ listened to him and Mark during TROS.

    I agree. In the PT, Jar Jar is the only truly glaring annoyance that I have, and I can still look past it since he had a significantly smaller part in AOTC and ROTS. Besides Jar Jar, my only other real complaint about the PT has been the lack of chemistry between Hayden and Natalie in AOTC.

    In short, I'm in no way a hater of the PT. Unfortunately, my experience has been completely different with the ST. I felt like TFA was a little disappointing but I still had hope for the future. TLJ effectively killed any and all enthusiasm I had for Disney Star Wars movies.

    And just to give a little perspective, my earliest memory in life was seeing ROTJ in theaters as a 4 year old.

    That would have been good. Particularly the Finn part.

    It's so strange spending so many years in the Gusher's Sanctuary for the Prequels(back in the day), to now finding myself a permanent resident in the Basher's Sanctuary for the Sequels. I never thought I'd see the day.

    I'm there with ya. I remember looking forward to each PT movie with eager anticipation and waiting in line to see each on opening night. Now? It's a complete 180 for me with the ST as I really couldn't care less about the new characters or stories. And what's really frustrating is I was ecstatic when I heard Disney bought Star Wars because I envisioned them taking all of these great story ideas from Legends and making some amazing movies with the OT cast and also bringing in some new and exciting heroes to keep the story going for decades to come.

    Now? I'm actually to the point where I'd rather they stop making Star Wars movies completely, just so we can preserve what's left of the franchise. It's gotten THAT bad. The ST is nothing more to me than an epic wasted opportunity.

    Hear hear. I tried to get hyped for the new movie by watching TLJ a few weeks back. Gave up in 30 min, forwarded to watch just the throne room scene and then watched AOTC for the zillionth time.
    I have IMAX morning tickets for the 20th, but this time, I am going in with no expectations.

    No, no - you got it wrong bro, all that Legends gunk wasn't source material, no no no.

    A large part of Marvel's success lies in doing exactly what LFL haven't - smartly adapting decades of comics material into new forms for a mass audience.

    Editing to add this above quote and to add the video. Are you sure you are talking about the same featurette? This above featurette is most definitely not doing old/new shots of actors that are in both trilogies. It focuses heavily on the ST, and then it has some OT footage. That's it. I agree that not everything needs to be interpreted as an apocalyptic insult. But this one is most definitely an insult. I thought it seemed super fake anyway, and only made to provoke emotions, as any marketing of course should do. Aside from the fact that it doesn't convince me, it feels weird not to have anything from the PT.

    That's not what it was though. It was a featurette called Friendship, and it was showcasing the friendship among cast members when filming a Star Wars movie. If what you said was true, the featurette wouldn't be DOMINATED by footage of Boyega, Ridley and Isaac.

    And I never said it's any thesis statement. It's just evident of their intended and conscious decision to move away from the prequels as much as possible, when promoting the ST. Yeah, that's disgusting to me. It shows lack of respect both to George Lucas, and the Christensen, Portman, McGregor trio.

    Why oh why didn't they change the end of TLJ to keep Luke alive after Carrie Fisher passed away? Why?!

    His answer to the first question is what makes people get so frustrated. He's not even willing to admit that maybe, just maybe, he didn't make the best choices in the story direction of TLJ.

    Competitive prognostication is a sport that works in all directions. You can competitively prognosticate how good something should be. You can competitively prognosticate how bad something should be. You have to signal your margins for error so that you don't look like an unseasoned, inexperienced prognosticator. Calling shots or making accurate predictions confers merit, cachet, stock. All very informal. The thrill is real. Can't convert it to bitcoin.

    The shareholders that scrutinize quarterly earnings reports are having their reward in full. They got their return on 4 billion investment, and they're making a few dollars more. They only need to make so many few dollars more for it to be considered a viable component of the Disney portfolio. It is immaterial that they could be making more money over a longer haul if they had simply waited to grow the seeds. They ate their seed corn and that was their choice. They are not crying. Iger is not crying. Abrams is not crying. Johnson is not crying. Kennedy is no crying. No one that is important is crying over this.

    I am the same. Well, you can see it on my signature. ROTS is my favorite Star Wars movie, and I think by far the most emotional one. It doesn't create many positive emotions, but oh boy is it powerful. Plus, it's the one I like the most visually. The sequences on the various planets when Order 66 is being executed are glorious, the opening battle above Coruscant is my favorite space battle in all of Star Wars (including Rogue One, which comes close, though TFA and TLJ have some pretty stunning space battles too), the opera scene is a classic at this point, the shots of Anakin and Padme conveying all the tension in the world while looking out the vista almost make me cry, Mustafar is a beast on its own, and of course the duel between Obi-Wan and Anakin is my favorite duel in the entire franchise. And while I love TPM, I still prefer AOTC by a small margin, mostly due to everything Coruscant, Geonosis and Obi-Wan, who shines in AOTC.

    Whoops. I think I went off topic. Uhm ok, I.... don't think that TROS will do anything as well as ROTS did.

    So, about The Yeet of Skywalker, some chronology of Kylo Ren:

    -Didnt like parents didnt devote 100% of their time to his ass;
    -Luke tried to kill him;
    -Immediately got triggered by this and slain all comrades;
    -Slain a bunch of people, trained with Snoke;
    -Met Rey, got beaten;
    -Killed Han;
    -Killed Snoke;
    -Got beaten by Rey;
    -Killed bunch of people;
    -Got beaten by Rey;
    -Got beaten by Rey;
    -Got beaten by Rey;
    -Han appeared to him;
    -Kylo Ren is good now;
    -Kylo Ren died.

    Tryle wonderfull the minds of JJ, RJ and Kasdan are.

    I might play it but I had that same strange feeling after watching Rebels. Kanan's death and Ezra's disappearance touched me way more than Han or Luke's deaths did. That's just not right.

    1. No one asked for that new generation - who wanted the old one gone?
    2. Oscar and John are obviously not interested in more SW so who is the new generation?

    ^ Possible spoiler there for anyone who might not have seen Rebels at this point (what are you doing people?!).
    The first one you mention, is in my top 5 most emotional moments in SW. It was a truly magnificent scene. Perfect in any way.
    I did not know I could be touched so deeply by anything in animated format.

    1. No one.
    2. They are the new generation for one episode. And then never again.
