ST Rey & Kylo Ren in Episode IX

I mean, I have sisters and cousins that grew up watching Labyrinth.

Those ideas aren't perpetuated by one or two people, they're reinforced through society. But glad to know you think so many SW fans and executives had "lousy parents." Not a stance I would take, to be sure.

 

They are producing a fantasy movie not endorsing abuse. I don't think executives at Warner Brothers endorse dropping anvils on people's heads because they create looney tune cartoons. Do you?

rest of the film sounds ok, but this kiss at the end is going to be gross, weird, and bizarre.

Wouldn't this be assumung that there aren't scenes and lines that clue the audience in here so they aren't that confused? You know, context?

I hear “Ben” and Rey have no dialogue, as in no conversation, before the make out session. Wouldn’t want to spoil the made up version of “Ben” Rey and audience members have by giving this fantasy an actual personality I guess lol. In the end, Rey truly only knows the Nazi

 

I’ve been saying for years that the light side of Rey is attracted to Ben, who she saw as early as in TFA while reading his mind, and the dark side of her (Dark side Rey) is drawn more to Kylo Ren. It’s the same for Kylo Ren and Ben Solo and the dark side potential seem inside Rey as well as who she is currently.

Had Rey succumbed and became Dark Side Rey she would have been rewarding his awful dark side behavior and enabling it and all of the negative things people have said about the toxicity of her then becoming Empress and lowering herself to that would hold true. Instead she holds firm against that repressed darkness and easier path toward power that’s offered by Kylo Ren, despite having many excuses she could fall back on to turn to the dark side, and continually walks away and treats Kylo Ren like the monster that he is. As light side Rey she is only interested in Ben Solo if he changes on his own and she is done thinking she can be the one to do it. And she isn’t the one to do it! His own guilt over what he’s done is as represented by his parents passing and his reflection of the most evil thing he did versus his father.

This galaxy has its own set of rules and thank the maker... there’s actual dialogue spelling that out more for people who didn’t pick up the very clear visual language in The Last Jedi of his hand offer with the glove off when he told her she wasn’t alone and listened to her problems, and the selfish Kylo Ren offer that wanted her to join him to rule together. Johnson’s amazing use of“please” represents the conflict between these two personalities competing within the characters Driver plays.

That the dialogue in IX expressly states that Rey DID want to take the hand of Ben Solo and not Kylo Ren is a grand slam home run for me and how I’ve viewed and sought to explain their dynamic. I couldn’t be more thrilled with how that's supposedly handled. Nor could I be more thrilled by the extent of this Ben Solo turn bordering on Jack Dawson selflessness by the end.

 

Is there gonna be a "the Reylos were right" thread or what. Because after 4 years of this forum abusing the **** out of them, a little humility that they got it right, and weren't just delusional fans, might be in order.

 

I’m not against that, but I also argued against Reylos and Kylo stans that Kylo Ren would more likely die over surviving this trilogy without punishment. So can I get my “I was right” thread too?

 

I hear Rey is losing before she stabs Kylo, and then still begs him after healing him. It’s full on blatant shameless abuse. He’s beating the F out of her and she’s begging him! And leaves him alive and safe!! Lmao who needs self respect anyway? Certainly not female characters. Speaking of which, Leia comes off as losing the will to live over Bennie Bunny, or something. She just dies. Because he does stuff. It makes no sense apparently. I guess women can’t function without their bad boys getting over their sad face.

Im sure there’s a fan forum somewhere where only one opinion is allowed. I’m certainly not going to pretend reylos have been abused because they had to suffer disagreement. Oh they’re still going to lol, so I don’t see any change happening.

Well going by a previous leak Rey is the attacking force. Its said Kylo is force pushed through a window and force pushed again later in same fight.

 

the context is that Kylo is a space nazi, that’s really all the context I need.

 

I have to wonder if Ben even admits wrong-doing. Like at all. Like even apologize for his evil actions. Or is it just internal "I saved you, where's thou kiss m'lady"
