I need a scene like in Ghost where Ben's ghost visits Rey and they get it on. Then Rey ends up pregnant and continues the Skywalker line for a future installment.

I caught that too. Very specific placement. I never understood the Shmi parallels until now...

All of this. However, I think Daisy's last day of filming was different from Adam's and alongside John and Oscar's. When the trio hug at the end, you can see Rey crying (I took it as she could finally allow herself to let down her guard and mourn for Ben and Leia in the comfort of friends). I definitely need more on Rey mourning Ben though and Ben should never have been killed off in the first place. So much for hopeful and optimistic like JJ said.

In that final scene, there are twin suns, Skywalker twins in ghost form, twin sabers buried, and there should have been two who are one with Rey and Ben to carry on the legacy of Luke and Leia.

Jedha has been destroyed too, not to mention all the crystals were taken from that planet.

Didn't Rey make her yellow lightsaber from a crystal from Luke or Leia's lightsaber?

Rey was clearly a Jedi before this "rite of passage."

I'm not sure what you are arguing against here.

I'm arguing that burying perfectly good lightsabers is a giant waste and symbolically meaningless.

All of my hopes that JJ would do a better job handling various aspects of Reylo than Rian had were basically realized. He just smoothed things out more and I think won over more people by how he approached it. JJ came through for me huge. He saw it very close to how I saw it. Right down to Ben having some Han-like moments as a light sider and it being implied that only the dark side part of Rey was remotely interested in Kylo Ren and that the more dominant light side aspect of her was ONLY interested in Ben who’d shed seen from reading his mind and from in the hut. He even captured that aspect that Rey wishes she didn’t feel this way at all. Love that he maintained the glove on/off stuff as well. Couldn’t be happier.

Some Kyber crystals probably still exist in the galaxy. after all Luke created a green one in ROTJ, and to make Leia one they obviously needed another one. so they are able to be found.

Did Rey need a yellow one? i guess they wanted Rey to stand out.

Rey likely got her crystal from Batuu. They have a lot there, you know. She probably went to Savvi's workshop and built it there.

We'll see where Rey got hers in due time. I kind of like it at the end, her final step although in Clone Wars they do it much earlier. The weapons she buried wouldn't have fit with Finn either. Anakin's was always a transitional weapon for both Luke and Rey. For Luke, losing it was losing his innocence tied to his idolisation of his absent father. For Rey I think it was only ever to get it to Ben. He told us in VII it belonged to him. In VIII he gets it when he's working with her and we think he's seen the light. When he's finally redeemed he's able to take his grandfather's weapon. Its buried with his mother's just like they faded away together. There are no more descendants of Anakin, the Skywalker saber is buried by Shmi, its a funeral.

    To the bolded - [face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick][face_sick]

Yup, this trilogy is about elitism, privilege, and entitlement. And also, Rey is a vessel to tell "Ben's" story through. She doesn't have her own story here.

Oh sorry. But I really wasn't celebrating it, rather making fun of it (or at least the idea of Rey being pregnant with Ben's baby).

Ah, how wonderfully convenient. They totally earned that one. Totally not an asspull of epic proportions or anything.

The point remains those types of photos have always caused contempt and led to fighting in this thread in the past and we as a moderator team issued a strong stance on where those types of things can go and what is discussed in this thread from the get go when we agreed to re-open this thread. No one is in trouble but it is worth noting and reminding people where they can go to share those images and their love of all things Reylo because this thread is not that. This is an open discussion about Reyand Kylo and their implications on the TROS and the discussion around it be it good or bad.

I don't think this trilogy knows what its about to be fair. Kylo/Ben's popularity seems to me to come from the strong central narrative the character has. He's in conflict with his family, wants to take control, prove himself, but his goals aren't really the core of his nature. What is Poe's story? He's a charming rogue pilot? That it? What is Finn's story? Not sure to be honest. What is Rey's story? Become a Jedi? The saga was meant to be about the Skywalker family, the lead of the last third of it wasn't even a Skywalker and when it came to the final victory it was all about House Palpatine. Its odd.

Please take the time to read the link. I'm posting it in honor of @JoJoPenelli , since it is from a site she has a hand in.

I also want to express my sympathies to her as well on the final cut of the film. Her theories, and evidence pointing to a "ReySky" were bar none. The take away? ALL our expectations were subverted; there were no exceptions to this rule.

And for all the Reylos? Congratulations. All your dreams came true (well...sort of). But take heart! I'm sure Jack Dawson is smiling up at the ST from his icy, watery grave.

Yay! On to the next 'ship! [face_dancing]

No. The take away is confirmation bias and sunk cost fallacy. There are no exceptions to those rules. Shadow council seemed to like Kylo just fine as long as they believed he was Rey's cousin.

I'm very happy with how Reylo turned out, thank you. Nobody actually died, these are all fictional characters, and this trilogy has been a great ride.

The atmosphere around this place is getting distinctly poisonous and I don't want to contribute any more to that, so I will say adieu.
