I don't think it was just luck, I think it was planned from the time Lucasfilm announced that TCW would be "winding down". When watching this arc, I had a very strong feeling that it had been intentionally inserted precisely in this position, in case the team never got the chance to revisit this story ever again.

That depends on how much time they had after learning of the Disney sale. The sale happened in October 2012, while we have concept dated all the way until March 2013.

Since the production codes of episodes (which were already set before the Disney sale) isn't out of order in Season 6 besides the Clovis arc (held back for the Youngling arc) then I assumed all work had already been completed on the Yoda arc's animation (besides music perhaps). Though knowing the exact timings would be interesting for sure


This concept art for The Lost One was made in November 2011, way before the Disney sale, so it seems unlikely there was too much alteration of plans for TCW. They just released what was already at animation stage, while leaving any animatics as they were. But I suppose we'll never know for sure unless they directly say something about it

Fair point. Though I always wondered just how closely connected "The Lost One" was supposed to be to Yoda's arc - they feel like two separate stories placed together instead of a unified whole, despite having the same scriptwriter.
