I hate this stupid two week egg holiday so much. Want a fossil? No, it’s an egg. Catch a fish? Egg. Want lumber? Egg. And what are these eggs used for? The ugliest furniture set in the game. I don’t want the special reward for completing all the recipes because it’s going to be just as worthless and hideous as the egg bed or whatever.

Why did they make this event so long? Passover isn’t this long!

I wouldn’t be quite so frustrated if this didn’t pop up precisely when I have to go hard on harvesting to build new houses, but that’s exactly where I’m at in the game, goddammit.

Alright, I don't get this game. Is it an allegory against consumerism and indentured servitude or a cleverly-placed step toward corporate-sponsored mind control? If the former, this tactic worked out poorly for Monopoly. If the latter, how do I find ore?

It’s actually a model of a post-capitalist society where work has become indistinguishable from play and labor vouchers (AKA Bells) are used solely for unnecessary luxury goods and to keep expansion of housing properties at a sustainable rate via illusory “loans” which have no fixed deadline and no interest.

Also for two weeks in April there are eggs everywhere and it is hell. This is a metaphor for the need for permanent revolution.

Ramza now has nightmares of being on an island and all he can see is...

Three star rating my island now has. Reinvention coming soon. And KK Slider.

    Islands get star ratings...?

I'm not minding Bunny Day stuff, because I have a wonderful party dress and ridiculous hat now. Even though I would never wear any of this stuff IRL at all, I kinda like getting into the festive mood. And I LOVE the stuff you can build with cherry blossoms. That stuff is legit cool. The egg stuff is just silly.

But I agree that there's absolutely no reason this event should be 12 freaking days long.

I think it's partially due to the proximity of the launch (they want newbies to have a chance to get their island setup and be able to enjoy the egg day stuff) and for pacing- if it were only 1 week long a lot of people, playing only a few hours a week, might not be able to get enough stuff to make it worthwhile to enjoy.

Oh, right. A few hours a week. That's... totally what I've been playing. A week. Right.

Apparently Bunny Day was one day in previous installments. That would've been fun and amusing - I don't hate it on principle, I hate that it's ****ing things up for so long.

Well it's weird, right? Because it's sort of two holidays smooshed into one. There's Easter, which is one day. But then they included cherry blossom blooming season in there as well, which extends it to 12 days or so naturally. Cherry blossoms are fantastic and I'm glad they're not just one day. Easter could have stood to be short, though.

I am definitely getting sick already of finding eggs instead of fossils or fish. I'm trying to pay off my second bridge so I can then refocus on paying off my third home loan and get my third room!

It could still be worse. You could get some ***hole, like me, come visit your island and plant a bunch of these all over the place.

Boundry Break already has an initial ACNH episode:

Discover: What noise Isabelle makes when you push her!
    Horror: At Zipper's offscreen actions!
    Learn: What everyone is reading!
Know: The insect you cannot see!
    Speak: To the invisible Dodo!
    Run: Into the Void!

I'm not saying that is typical, but Nintendo would design their stuff towards limited, casual play- and I could see kids being limited in play time at home or through parental controls, etc.

Parental controls, aka "ok kid that's enough screen time for your day. Now go to bed." *plays it themselves for three hours* :p

Actually, the Switch parental controls can lock them out when they exceed playtime.

"No, I must smash all the eggs!"
"No Chewgumma, you are the eggs."

And then Chewgumma was an egg.

Dear, sweet Teddy (who is a bear who exercises constantly (write your own joke)) is apparently my ally in anti-Bunny Day sentiments, as he's been griping about how he doesn't like lifting rocks anymore because rock eggs keep popping out. Truly this is the hallmark of a good neighbor.

On the bright side those stupid eggs sell for a decent chunk of change. Wouldn't dare waste the tool durability on most of them, but the leaf ones financed some hip new threads from Mabel. :p

So yesterday I asked my brother what he wants for his upcoming bday (beginning of May). He said maybe Animal Crossing, but by then he was worried people wouldn't be playing.

So I got him the Nintendo Store credit early. He is currently fishing to get enough specimens for his museum.

Figuring out that I can multi-select items from my inventory when trying to sell stuff to the Nooks or donating stuff to Blathers has just saved me a ridiculous amount of time. Feels like I should have tried that back when I first was annoyed at having to go through the dialogue process every time...

I think both Timmy and Blathers mention it at some point but it'd probably be easy to miss if you were pounding through their rigamarole.

I'd been using the multi-item select feature from the start. It's the only way to avoid the crippling feelings of guilt when I donate bugs to Blathers.

I hate mortifying that poor sweet boy with my butterfly collection. Why can't I just let him relax in peace with his beloved fossils?

“Spiders are known for having eight eyes & eight legs.. WHICH ARE SIX TOO MANY IF YOU ASK ME!”

Tom definitely mentioned something about it right before I got Blathers to come to the island but there weren’t any instructions or anything, just letting you know the feature was enabled now. Just didn’t click that you could multi select between selecting an item and confirming it.
