Well that stinks about no more DLC. Yeah I'm disappointed that neither Ahsoka nor Ventress will make it into the game. Lately if I play the game once a month that's a lot. I was definitely more engaged in BF 2015. We'll see how Scariff plays in this game. Kind of weird to play Scariff without either Krennic or Jyn.

I do wish for more updates that added Endor, Starkiller Base, and Crait to IA and to bring up the bot count slightly, but I am overall satisfied by the game we got in the end. They really changed the course of its mediocrity into something that can stand next to Battlefront 2004 and Battlefront 2 2005.

I want a Battlefront 3 to focus solely on content from the TV shows.

I'm glad they supported it this long at least. The game's turned into a really fun, well-rounded experience. I do hope though the next game starts more or less where this is in terms of content. It'd be disappointing to have to wait months again for basic characters we've already seen. Maybe next time they can focus on non-saga film material for DLC characters. Characters like Din, Gideon, Ahsoka, Ventress, Kanan, Rex, Sabine, Hera, Thrawn, an Inquisitor, Qi'ra, Beckett, Chirrut or whoever.

It wouldn't have killed them to at least include the Ahsoka-painted helmets for the Clones as a new skin. Then I'd actually look forward to playing as a Clone.

Scarif is a fun map. Feels a bit small, but still fun.

I'm happy with all that we've been given, even if there was plenty of missed opportunities. It's great to finally have an offline mode that's on par with the online content. Means play can happen faster and I don't feel like I'm missing out.

i agree, scarif is quite fun in IA. one small thing, and i'm not sure if it has to do with the scope or varying environments of the map, but crait is not available in IA - you can play in the caves for arcade, but it's one of the ones I enjoyed most.

by the count for IA, it's clone wars 5, rebellion 5, and resistance 3 - would have been cool to at least get one more map for the era. rey's skywalker/yellow saber appearance is awesome. maul's robot appearance is locked behind an achievement btw.

That's why I'm hoping - despite the fact new content has now stopped - they can still put the rest of the maps into Supremacy/Instant Action.

Is it just the same BF2 modes as before that use Scariff as a map, or did they actually include the popular three-staged Infiltration mode from the 2015 version where you start in the skies with the starfighters trying to penetrate the planet's gated atmosphere and then, when it's successful, take over on the ground with first creating the explosions decoy and then escaping with the DS plans.

It's just the regular game mode of supremacy minus the capital ship takeover the other eras have.

I enjoyed playing Scarif again, but I only got to play one round on it and then it kept putting me in lobbies with a full Rebel team and no players on the Imperial side multiple times. Hope this issue is fixed soon.

So, I've finally snatched up the game on sale and yeah, I can't say I'm not having fun. If only for the hilarity of being able to punch out BB-8 as a Sith trooper.

I'm also pretty thankful there at least some singleplayer offline options now; I'm having the most fun playing as FO jetpack soldiers, and slicey-slicey commando droids.

I just noticed this in the last trailer.

That's a prequel trilogy capital ship. In the sequel trilogy. Methinks this was captured during an earlier stage of development of the ST capital supremacy. I just find it amusing that the error made it through into the marketing materials.

Played a few co-op games the other day; only in the OT era because I was hoping to see the new Scariff map. Didn't happen. Wound up on Hoth, Tattooine, and Endor. You can't say even as the devs say they won't be doing any more major updates that the game is without flaws. It's almost at the point of annoying listening to stormtroopers and Empire officers with the voice of clones calling Rebel soldiers "clankers". Outside of the Triple XP offered during the weekend, I just don't have enough incentive to play the game all that much.

there are plenty of bugs still, with more likely to be discovered. the clone rallying cry during rebellion/resistance-era stuff happens once every few games, doesn't bother me much. the resistance-era attack/defend cruiser mission is bugged out, though - the AI just isn't refined enough. not to the point of what the arcade mode at jabba's palace used to be (unplayable), but it's one to avoid. there are other bugs, if you check out the active subreddit. the team at dice is still asking for feedback on their twitter - it's possible that they could address some of the easily fixable stuff in the near future, even without future content.

i enjoy the game and appreciate how far it has come in many aspects, but it's not close to perfect.

I've watched YouTube videos the past several days since the devs said they weren't doing any more major updates. At the end of the day, it sounds near unanimous that EA's pulling from the game is what left it unfinished. There was a Tweet by one of the lead character devs who expressed his disappointment that Ahsoka wasn't included by the end of all this. It seems the whole team is now involved in the Battlefield game. You let me know how that goes.

It definitely feels like the team was let go and the pandemic sped up that decision. I get the impression that while content might have been winding down, there were still a few more updates planned and then EA basically pulled the plug. I also think that's why the final update was delayed two-three weeks. The developers probably tried to cram as much in there as they could and bug test it.

I do think, especially if there is no plan for a Battlefront 3, that EA made a mistake. I would have paid for a few decent content updates. An Order 66 focused one with the addition of Ahsoka and Asajj Ventress would certainly have intrigued me. Same for a season 2 Mandalorian theme that worked in Mando and Gideon. Neither are really out of the realm of possibility- only if EA chooses not to go back to it. But to me, this was the time to capitalize. I would have loved a Mandalore map with some Mando units fighting clones for instance. One of my favorite maps was Mygeeto in the original Battlefront 2. Sadly, there were plenty of cool worlds we never got to see.

Also, not thrilled about the Maul Old Master skin requirement. 5000 kills I can do in single player where no one stops me from getting Maul. But to try and get him in Multiplayer?ridiculous. And I don't even love the character that much. I didn't mind the hoops I had to jump through to get Rey's hooded look. I was able to get that the first time I managed to get on Takodana with a group. But 5000 is just asking too much.

they're changing the maul skin/5000 kills thing, dice confirmed that on twitter. was lots of backlash to that one, probably knock it down to 500 or 1000.

i agree with you on the rest - at the very least, port the story maps and bf1 maps/heroes in. rex and cody could have been easy variants for the arc/commando class.

as ahsoka's tano said, the dice guys working on this haven't held back their disappointment. this was a business decision from ea, as they'd pledged free dlc. hope for a bf3 in a few yrs, i suppose.

That's a very specific way of putting it, making EA look like a villain for killing the game in this situation. And I don't think that is fair.

For all of EA's glaring faults, they're actually rated as one of the best employers in the world, because they treat their staff well. Deciding to move the Battlefront 2 staff from working on a game over two years old to working on the next-gen Battlefield isn't a decision made out of greed. Or at least, not only greed. It's to help relieve the pressure on the staff already working on it.

that's a fair point. i'm not familiar with the ins-and-outs of their employee satisfaction, but i appreciate that you are looking at it from a different perspective - as opposed to my take, which was entirely as a consumer and a bit more selfish.
